  1. Haven't posted here in ages due to some problems in my life but, Zep helps me get though a lot of it and although I know Jimmy's history of "borrowing", this ain't it! Listen to the beginning of this 1959 Davey Graham version of "Cry Me a River" :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWeejHJxGjs Now............just drop it and go home Randy...PLEASE!
  2. Rat Bat Blue. That riff just kicks my ass. I play guitar and yeah, it's all a matter of taste but he's in my top ten for sure.

    America

Happy Birthday America!!! I love you and I hope we can pull ourselves out of the funk we are currently in. On a lighter note, Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis was born today. I believe it was around the same year as our declaration.
  4. Thanks SuperDave. My wife is doing well considering. The only time I"m not with her is when I'm working which is a lot lately. This disease changes everything. My new rule is that I spend all my energy making sure she gets to do what SHE wants to do for as long as she wants to do it. She tires easily so when she sleeps or just doesn't want to do anything, I play guitar, have some beers and, come on here to talk to you guys. Three day weekend if I'm lucky....YES! I hope you have a great 4th of July weekend. Thanks again.
  5. I do believe there is a complete one out there. As I told tom kid, days off coming soon. Maybe I'll get to it. Even my time off is rough. Remodeling the bathroom and my wife is battling breast and bone cancer. I have A LOT going on. Thanks for your reply SuperDave.
  6. Tucson 6-28-72. Noted and thanks for the advice. I'll check it out. Oh, I'm not correcting the way you write your date BTW I'm just putting it backwards so my American brain can comprehend it. LOL!
  7. Well, I guess I should say it doesn't necessarily have to be a soundboard for me to get it just that they usually have a decent sound. I have the "Going to California" 9-14-71 show and it's really good. LTTE obviously as well as a few others from other bands. I have a Uriah Heep recorded from a Dan Lapinski that sounds very good too. Some things just really break my heart like listening to the Osaka 9-29-71 show and halfway through Dazed, it just completely craps out. In and out I should say. Time is also a factor for me. Like... me responding to you days later. I have a lot on my plate friend so if I ever don't respond quickly, nothing personal. You all seem pretty cool, I'm just very busy. I'm also grateful that this stuff exists at all! I never knew about half of it. I do know where to look for these things also so, I'm ready when something new pops up like the recent Seattle show. I have better 75 shows IMO but, I downloaded that sucker anyway. I have some vacation time coming soon so, maybe I can look into some of these others that you folks mentioned. Thanks a lot tom kid. Good talking to you from the other side of the world.
  8. Hi SuperDave. Is your Baton Rouge soundboard? I seem to remember it just coming out as one just within the past year or so but, I could be wrong. I also know of the Dallas one but sort of remember that it's incomplete? again, could be wrong. I'm actually very new to the whole bootleg scene although once I was taught by a friend how to use the computer properly, I've amassed quite a few. I'll be 45 in a few weeks and I never knew half this shit existed! What a joy the first time I heard "As Long As I Have You" from 4-27-69. I don't like to waste time with downloading stuff that sounds like crap...even if it's Zep so, I try to research this stuff the best I can. I thank you and everyone here for your input.
  9. My GM... DOES have the gap plugged in TYG. It is a DVD Audio version I think and has 16.9 WideScreen Collectors Edit. and Lt Ed/Promo on the cover which is different from what Strider has posted. It sounds great compared to the first one I had but, I think i'll track down the Winston version just to make sure I have the best one to my ears. Thanks johnlennon696
  10. Looks like I need to acquire Baton rouge and Dallas.
  11. Yes, that's the one I have and, the patch in TYG is there and done well too. Since you have both, is Winston THAT much of an upgrade? I know it's your opinion of course.
  12. Hi guys. I know...who's he...he never posts here...long story. Anyway...I have a version called "Genuine Masters" that I'm playing through Jet Audio using Logitec Z-4 speakers with a sub woofer and it kicks my ass. I don't remember which version I had before this but, this GM was quite an upgrade IMO. Maybe I'll have to try this Winston to see if it's better. Maybe I should post more too. You all seem pretty cool.
  13. Hi Tom. Yes, I agree. Especially better than the hack job done on the new TSRTS. Thank god I still have the original vinyl soundtrack which has the best No Quarter solo I've ever heard. I like the addition of the new tracks but, it's a shame what they did to that one. I know why 'cause it matches the movie and some legal stuff but still........ I have Four Blocks, St. Valentines's and, Snow Jobs. All very good. I can't get in to the poor sound quality stuff regardless of performance. My dream is that Osaka 9/29/71 will someday appear in pristine sound but, I know it is just a dream. I listened to a bit of St.Valentine's today. The cool riff at the beginning of Heartbreaker is worth the download itself for those who don't have it. A Ricky Nelson song I've heard mentioned? My advice to anyone is if you don't have any of these titles mentioned.....download them ALL!!! The performances were better in the early days but these '75 soundboards do sound very good. I don't post here much but, I read a lot. You guys are mostly all cool here. Especially 'cause you like Zep.
  14. Ah yes........DAISY! That's what happened you see. I also had older brothers who listened to a lot of Zep and other great bands. Right after the height of Kissmania, I was introduced to "Mary Jane." A short time later...I was introduced to Gina. Suddenly, I was spinning spinning LZ II and HOTH on a regular basis. I started to "get it."
  15. Well, I guess that's my argument you're referring to. I got through about two minutes of this continuous drum loop before I had to stop. Again...it all comes down to taste and I guess I'm just a cranky old bastard but, I was really talking about the statement of Eminem being "better than" LZ. My post did say that there is no "better than" in people's tastes but you also can't be better than someone if you can't even do what it is they are doing. I'm a musician Tom. I've worked hard at being one. What bugs me is that when Page steals something, he's actually playing the music where as a lot of these rappers going back some years, just sample the actual track and put it in the song. It doesn't take much to entertain the masses these days. At least not here in America.
  16. O.K. you old buck who hasn't eaten in 70+ years. (love the avatar) I WAS 8-10 when that shit was out and...it WAS good.............THEN! Imagine being that age and being surrounded by your sisters with their Leif Garret, Bay City Rollers, Sean Cassidy, Andy Gibb, and even...... David Soul from "Starsky and Hutch!" KISS seems pretty cool now compared to that shit don't they? "Alive" introduced them to the world. Still somewhat underground before that record. "Destroyer" was another good one MINUS "Beth" (sisters' liked it). "Detroit Rock City" is as powerful an open track as there is. Once they became mainstream (Beth..Hard Luck Woman...stupid movies, etc) It was all over. Comparing them to Zep of course doesn't even compute but hey........I'm just giving credit where it's due for the times they were. So much simpler.
  17. I agree about the Sabbath and I have a boot from Asbury Park, N.J. from 75 (as I'm sure most fans do) that has some of the reissued tracks and kicks the snot out of the official release. Priest live in the East = Good times! Good memories!
  18. Ronzo

    I backtraced it!

4:02 says it all............ "At some point, we need to have an adult in charge." THAT is the bottom line and yes, I admit.........the fathers rant was totally funny. I may get a tee shirt made.
  19. I'm new here (as far as posting) and, I'd like to know also. I was talking to a guy called Tripmender and noticed that he's banned along with BIGDAN. I don't have time to go through too many posts but, I've never seen one from either person that constitutes banning. Just curious here.
  20. I saved my money and bought the complete studio recordings when it came out. Saved me the trouble of having to worry about stuff like this.
  21. In most cases, there is no "better than" when it comes to music...it's just what people like to listen to. In MOST cases. In Eminem's case.........what musical instrument does he play? Did you ever actually hear him SING? If anyone at your school has links showing Eminem doing either, tell them to post them here. There are a lot of guitar players who are technically better than Jimmy Page but when I listen to their music, I don't FEEL anything. that's what it's all about. How certain music makes you FEEL. Even if it is Eminem.............I guess.
  22. No, not VC. I love Hendrix also but I truly am Zep #1 but, VC did come shortly after. I know it might be a bit lame but I did the wah mixed with some chorus for Crimson and Clover pretty early on. Hey.....I have a lot of different tastes in music. First time I had an electric in my hands it was WLL and heartbreaker riffs. Now...The Rain Song: Studio Tuning: D G C G C DLive Tuning: E A D A D E (One step higher) Studio is acoustic like this....low E DOWN to D...A DOWN to G...D DOWN to C...G=same...B UP to C...E DOWN to D.Live is electric low E=same...A=same...D=same...G UP to A...B up to D...E=same. Here is a tab if I'm allowed to post this link:http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/l/led_zeppelin/the_rain_song_tab.htm Here is a great site that makes things even easier but, you have to pay:http://www.actiontab.com/ Learn to play TRS in this way. Especially the acoustic version. Once you get the hang of it, you will not want to play it in standard again. Trust me!!!...this IS how Page does it. The action tab site rules but, I'm kind of broke right now so I'm not up to date with all they have but, it's a pretty cool site for guitar players.
  23. Hi Tom. When I bought my wah pedal some years ago, can you guess the very first thing I did with it? bum...bum,bum,bum,bum,..................................WAHH, WAHHHHHHHHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
