  1. Got a few more records this week: The Rolling Stones - Love You Live Townes Van Zandt - Delta Momma Blues Richard Hell & The Voidoids - Blank Generation (couldn't find the cover art I have on my LP) Talking Heads - Talking Heads: 77
  2. Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands that I didn't like when I was a little younger, probably either because my dad liked them and I was simply being rebellious, or I thought they sounded too "soft rock". However, it seems like as I go back, I find a great deal of appreciation for them, and feel that their "soft rock phase" aka 1975 onward is a bit underrated by the hipsters. And besides, Lindsey Buckingham is an absolutely amazing guitar player.
  3. CD: Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Cardinology Vinyl: Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
  4. Vinyl: The Rolling Stones - Some Girls Townes Van Zandt - Townes Van Zandt
  5. ^ Excellent. I picked up Fresh Fruit on vinyl not too long ago. Good record. And I love The Smiths now. At first, I didn't dig them too much. I think it was Morrissey. But I got past his, ahem, "unique" vocal style and really listened to his lyrics. He really is a superb writer. But I still think a big selling point for me is Johnny Marr's playing. That guy is awesome! Anyway, I felt like I needed to add some hardcore punk to my music diet, so I went and bought this on vinyl... Black Flag - Damaged
  6. Picked up a batch of vinyl the other day: Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac Van Morrison - Moondance Stones - Goats Head Soup Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska
  7. All vinyl: Mott The Hoople - Live Bob Dylan - Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid The Who - Live at Leeds The Smiths - Self-titled
  8. Killed some time today by doing some shopping: Vinyl: Whiskeytown - Strangers Almanac Book: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
  9. I have no Flying Burrito Brothers, but I've been wanting that to change for a while. Not exactly a household name, so their records are kind of hard to come by.
  10. Yeah, I'm a big fan of him. I already had his two solo albums on CD, but when I saw them on vinyl, I knew I couldn't pass them up.
  11. All vinyl: Gram Parsons - GP Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power Ramones - Leave Home Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet
  12. Got some more records today: Smog - Red Apple Falls Little feat - Waiting for Columbus (kickass gatefold, used, in great condition, and only 3 bucks!) Neil Young - Tonight's The Night
  13. Oooooh, I'm totally keeping an eye out on that Massey Hall record. Looks somewhat pricey, but I don't have it yet, and I think that it'll sound incredible on vinyl.
  14. Double post, technically. Oh well. All these are on vinyl: Television - Marquee Moon (awesome gatefold!) Ryan Adams - Gold Bill Withers - Still Bill
  15. Finally got my turntable working, and thusly been spinning my records like crazy. I just have to get more vinyl stuff. Vinyl: Elliott Smith - Either/Or CD: Bob Dylan - Love and Theft Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
  16. M. Ward - Post-War Drive-By Truckers - The Dirty South
  17. Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady Bob Dylan - Street Legal
  18. Thanks. I absolutely adore them. I can already tell that it's going to be an additonal addiction of mine music-wise (as if I didn't buy enough albums way), and I absolutely love the look of vinyl. The art, the size, etc. They look a lot better than CD's. But I am very jealous of your record collection. Some of the stuff I've seen you post is really obscure and stuff and I'm sure what I've seen is just the tip of the iceberg.
  19. Since it's my spring break and I'm one of ten people on my college campus to not be traveling anywhere, I went crazy at my local record stores. It's a note as well that I bought my first batch of vinyl records; they're great. Vinyl: Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger Bob Dylan - New Morning Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel CD: Tom Waits - Closing Time Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps
