  1. Finally got my turntable working, and thusly been spinning my records like crazy. I just have to get more vinyl stuff. Vinyl: Elliott Smith - Either/Or CD: Bob Dylan - Love and Theft Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
  2. It's funny, because ever since I came to college last fall, I've discovered the beauty of local record stores. For a couple months I only went to one in particular, but then I figured out there were two other ones nearby. It's kind of dangerous in the sense that they have a lot to offer and that they're so close to where all my classes are, so making a couple quick purchases in between classes is something that happens almost too often for me.
  3. On a somewhat related note, I picked up The Dirty South a few days ago and like it so far.
  4. M. Ward - Post-War Drive-By Truckers - The Dirty South
  5. From what I've heard from her, I like. And I usually don't make comments about musicians like this, but I guess I'm in a sort of shallow mood... she's pretty hot.
  6. Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady Bob Dylan - Street Legal
  7. Thanks. I absolutely adore them. I can already tell that it's going to be an additonal addiction of mine music-wise (as if I didn't buy enough albums way), and I absolutely love the look of vinyl. The art, the size, etc. They look a lot better than CD's. But I am very jealous of your record collection. Some of the stuff I've seen you post is really obscure and stuff and I'm sure what I've seen is just the tip of the iceberg.
  8. Considering a song like "Halloweenhead" can go onto one of his albums, I'd bet five bucks that "video blog" song will be on his next. All kidding aside, it'll be included on the boxset.
  9. Haha. I got that impression long before this site. DJ Reggie, for one.
  10. Since it's my spring break and I'm one of ten people on my college campus to not be traveling anywhere, I went crazy at my local record stores. It's a note as well that I bought my first batch of vinyl records; they're great. Vinyl: Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger Bob Dylan - New Morning Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel CD: Tom Waits - Closing Time Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps
  11. http://www.recordstoreday.com/Home Interesting little website dedicated to preserving the integrity and number of independent record stores across the country. Many stores around the nation are celebrating this, and I found some of the comments by various musicians/writers/etc. to be pretty interesting.
  12. Jerry Lee Lewis is definitely underrated. Agreed wholeheartedly.
  13. Cash is far from a fad. His influence upon popular music today is undeniable and incalculable. To merely call him a fad due to a recent film depicting his life is absolutely ridiculous. Your comment didn't offend me; it's simply wrong and frankly pretty damn ignorant. Therefore, I cannot take you seriously... at all.
  14. Thanks for pointing out so easily to not take you seriously at all with any additional posts you make on this board.
  15. It's Cash, people. Pretty kickass label lineup though.
  16. Fuck it, I may just get this version soon. By the way, I FINALLY succumbed and downloaded the Side 4 disc to Gold, seeing as no versions of the album carry that disc anymore (They may be included in the box set, which I'm sure I'll get anyway) and I must say, I like it a LOT. In fact, he probably could've taken just about any track off the last half of the album proper and replaced it with anything off the bonus disc. I like the album as is, but I would like it even better if those songs were included. By the way, I'm getting Pneumonia tomorrow.
  17. Currently: 162 CD's counted 0 Vinyl (just got a record player, so I'm hoping to remedy this) Pretty low number, I know.
  18. Anymore I really don't give a shit who's inducted into the Hall of Fame. Artists who truly have talent will get their recognition, whether it be through millions or thousands of hardcore fans. If it keeps up, at a yearly rate, then damn near everyone will be in the Hall sooner or later, which makes it pointless to me.
  19. I happened to spot this post, albeit a bit late, but I've been meaning to pick up his debut for a long time now. This is a good reminder.
