  1. I have Preston's book too, though it's been a while since I looked through it. When I first bought it it was like my bible. Completely adored the pictures. It's nice to see 'new' (and by that, I mean not constantly repeated) pictures of Jimmeh. Thank ye kindly, Ev With regards to the 'someone', I have a few in mind. Though, with my track record, I've been wrong before...
  2. Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying. Well, I'm all for a bit of fan-girl self-indulgence (particularly when Jimmy's involved), but what goes on here is cringe-worthy at best.
  3. Same here. Don't know what 'piss taking' the others are referring to, but half the time I'm wondering whether half the posts are serious anyway. In some ways, I find this to be the weirdest thread here. And not the 'kooky' kind of weird. The 'sandwich short of a picnic' kind of weird.
  4. That's awful. I'm so sorry, Marolyn Whilst the decision made on my behalf wasn't as distressing as what happened to you, I still would've appreciated the freedom to have made the choice myself. This decision wasn't made on the basis of what was 'best' for me, it was done on the basis of sheer presumption. It's all been sorted out now, though. Hopefully.
  5. It has done And it's not just the decision - it's who made it for me as well...
  6. Someone made a decision on my behalf that I had no knowledge of until after the event. That made me very fucking unhappy.
  7. I had a little Q+A was the record producer of one of my favourite bands. That was pretty cool.
  8. I'd recommend it. I'm 'down' with the low-brow 'bro' comedies - in fact they're my favourite because they don't hold back, and they're just made to make you laugh. There are many, many films out there that are both funny and intelligent - and this probably won't be one of them. But that doesn't bother me. It was intended to entertain and it sure did.
  9. I just saw it tonight with my boyfriend. We laughed the shit off that film - it was so fucking funny! Me thinks I may have to go back and watch it again. To-da-loo, motherfuckaaaaaaa!
  10. Thank God for that. I think it was Danelectro (sorry, if I've got it wrong) who mentioned that 'fanny kicked fanny'. I thought, 'Not where I'm from, they don't'
  11. I'm far too afraid to even Google this band Please tell me that they were American. I'd like to think they would've had the good sense to not name themselves as such if they weren't. Thanks for the link, Ady, I'd never heard of them before. I seriously thought we'd gone into dangerous territory for a second...
  12. I'm guessing he doesn't have any 'big' things to be happy about.
  13. Tusk, for me, is probably my favourite album. Rumours is a great album, but there's so much more to Tusk. It's not given nearly enough credit as it deserves because the record company wanted another Rumours record, and Lindsey - since he produced it - wanted to go in a punk direction. Warner Bros. didn't like it and, as a consequence, it wasn't given as much marketing as it should've had. It cost $1 million to do, and in terms of success, it bombed compared to Rumours. It's a slow burner kind of album, but once I really got into listening to it, I couldn't believe how amazing it was. And since I'm not really a Peter Green-era kind of fan, I have absolutely no shame in stating that I'm seeing the Rumours line-up this November.
  14. Well, hotels in the capital will be more expensive than elsewhere - but that's a given. Marriott's a good place to go to. Depending on where you'd like to be, most places in Central London will be of good quality, though relatively expensive. Here's an Expedia link that'll hopefully help you. On a personal level, I've never spent the night in London since it's only a few hours drive away. I wish I could help you more with that one. Expedia If you chose the London option, along with your preferred hotel class, you should get some decent hits. Hope that helps.
  15. I'm such an idiot, when I'm in the US I'm always roughly halving USD to make it Sterling - I'd only gone and done that here as well.
  16. Didn't think of that! So, it'd be something around $4 for a return coach trip from Wales to central London?
  17. Buck, that's a pain in the arse having to re-do your plans. On the plus side, nine's right - there's plenty to do without the aid of a car. This little bugger may be able to help you out Linkage Already, I've just checked that if you went from London to Aberystwyth (Wales) in August by National Express coach, you're looking at an £8 return price. Of course, that's just an example, but it's not a bad price.
  18. Overcast, wet and cold - 10°C (50°F). Last Sunday it was warm, sunny and dry - 27°C (81°F). How I love our weather...
  19. Imagine that - Spats likes a film done by, starring, and intended for just men... You do surprise us. I'm probably gonna see Drag Me To Hell and The Hangover soonish. I want to see The Hangover and my boyfriend wants to see DMTH, so we've compromised - I'll go with him to see DMTH and he takes me out to see the Hangover. Two cinema trips a man will be forking out for - it's enough to bring Spats out in a sweat.
  20. Stevie and Lindsey alternate lines on some of her songs. They do have a few backup singers, but they usually provide support on the choruses of their songs rather than just filling in for a particular person.
  21. I'm gonna have to check them out now...
  22. Back when she was Perfect. I don't think I've ever heard any of their stuff - the name's interesting enough alone.
  23. It is sad, especially as she's happy to still perform (she appeared on their 2003 album), but just doesn't want to travel any longer. Songbird is a beautiful song. One of my favourites of her's has always been Brown Eyes.
