  1. Sitting here listening to the Dropkick Murphys, watching the Red Wings play the Canadiens in 1954 on YouTube, munching on Cheerios, and drinking a Newcastle at midnight on Monday (well, I guess it's Tuesday, now). Good times...at least to me, anyway!
  2. It's racing season again, praise the Lord!! Can't wait for the Bud Shootout this weekend! Also, my ballet and tap classes are going pretty good, considering. Ballet's actually harder to keep up with than tap because my teacher tells us a whole string of things to do one time and then expects us to remember them, but at least she does it along with us so we can fake it. I thought maybe I'd get sick of it after a while, but I'll be darned if I'm not having fun still! Congrats, Kat! That's so cool!
  3. Just read this on somebody's Facebook: Breaking News: Nate Kaeding attempted suicide in the locker room after the game by hanging himself but was unsuccessful because he couldn't kick the chair out from under him. Ah, at least something good came from that game...
  4. Somehow I thought this had something to do with beer, and I was going to be like, "Raaaad, you can brew your own beer now?!" which would've been awesome, but a new coffee thingy is always a good thing, too. Dood, February is going to be the best month evaaarrr!!! My best friend is moving back to SD, and we're going to go ice skating (I'm way excited about that for some reason), and then it's Daytona 500 time, and maybe if I'm lucky Jamey Johnson's new CD will finally come out...yep, it's gonna be great!
  5. It's perfect! It's 74 degrees here...a little overcast, but hey, you can't have everything, right? Feel free to throttle me through the computer screen if you'd like, haha.
  6. I saw Sherlock Holmes a while ago... I thought it was decent, if not great. I thought it worked great as an action film - it had sort of a Pirates-esque adventure feel, which I liked - but as a Holmes film, it needed a loooot more story. I actually liked Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes, although as with Iron Man, you're going to get more RDJ than the character, but the melding of the two worked for me (even with the bad accent, hehe). Who I really liked was Jude Law - I thought he was perfect for Watson. I'm a little tired of Watson being played as a bumbling old fool, when he's really not that way in the books, so that was a nice change. The bad guy (Mark Strong) did really well with what he was given, too. I'm not even going to waste my breath on Rachel McAdams - let's just say she sucked and leave it at that. Call Helena
  7. I'm back! That made me happy. It may or may not have made you guys happy, but I'm here again, nevertheless.
  8. Awesome!!! That made my day right there!
  9. Woo! I'm going to the NASCAR race at Fontana this weekend! Didn't think I was going to make it to this one since we're trying to save up for the Las Vegas race in February (smaller track, easier to see at), but I just couldn't stay away from my boys. So excited!! And it's just plain been a good week so far. I dig it!
  10. Okay, now it's even cold here. I guess I should say "coolish" because it's definitely nowhere near 40 degrees, but when it goes from being in the 90s at the end of last week to the 60s at the beginning of this week, that's a pretty big change for us.
  11. Yeah! That's the one! Good times. I'm ok with upside down on roller coasters, where it just does like a loop-de-loop or two, but if it's something that's continually spinning, forget it. I'm a wuss, too!
  12. Me too, I love the Tilt-a-Whirl! I won't go on very many other ones, though...all those ones that are like the Dumbo ride at Disneyland, except the car (the actual would-be Dumbo part) spins upside down and around again itself. Ugh...makes me feel sick just thinking about it, lol I've been on one of those pirate ship things (this one was a Viking ship, hehe), but I sat in the middle. Yeah, the ends don't look like too much fun to me, either! I do like the "sleigh ride," though, that's just attached to a circular platform that goes around and around, first forward then backwards...that's even tamer than the tilt-a-whirl, but still pretty fun. No upside down spinning or crazy angles or other shenanigans.
  13. Gettin' better, gettin' better! Definitely cooler this week. Of course now we're approaching fire season, and the humidity's already starting to go down. As long as it doesn't get windy, we'll be okay, but...I hate to be a pessimist, but with all the fires LA has had this year already, I don't think we're going to get away with it.
  14. Hey, I was just coming on here to say I saw Blink 182 too...what a coinkydink! And I agree with the review - pretty good, nothing spectacular, except for Travis and the crazy-ass drum platform. Love that guy. They weren't as funny as they were back in the day, but they warmed up toward the end of the show. They played their instruments a TON better than the 3 other times I saw them, though, so that was nice for a change. They played too many new songs I didn't know; they could have at least done a couple more off Enema of the State, which is their best-selling album, after all. I know Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat are too old-school for most people, so I wasn't expecting a ton of those songs (but they DID play Carousel - heck yeah!), but they could've mixed it up a little more between their last 3 albums instead of playing soooo much off the last one (which came out like 4 or 5 years ago, so it's not like they have to seriously promote it). Anyway, it was a nice "high school reunion" feeling being there with my buddies at the hometown show and all.
  15. Wow, awesome pictures all around, guys! That's so awesome that the Saints came to visit you, Dzldoc! It's nice to hear about sports figures doing nice stuff like that, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy! And I love Frank Lloyd Wright, but I had no idea about Florida Southern College - thanks, ebk! Love the pics. And I am happy today because I finally got rid of the virus from my computer, yaaay!
  16. Aw yeah, the Chargers just beat the Raiders for the 12th time in a row!!
  17. Kanye West is a dickhead who apparently failed kindergarten. Nobody called on you, asshole, so stay in your seat and let the rest of the class have their turn! Somebody give this guy a permanent time out. I'm not even that big a Taylor Swift fan, but she seems like a really genuinely nice person, and I still kinda think of her as a kid (even though she's only like 5 years younger than me), so I really hate that he did this to her in particular. I hope I'm wrong, but she seems like the kind of person who would take this kind of hard, as opposed to if it had been Beyonce's or Pink's video he was dissing; they probably would've just laughed it off and ignored it, but for some reason Taylor looks like she'd take it personally.
  18. 1. Zep concert, of course. 2. Keep skipping around until I either find or do not find King Arthur. 3. Whatever year the library at Alexandria burned, I'd go back and keep that from happening. 4. American Revolutionary War period...I've always been interested in that.
  19. Shawne Merriman made me pretty happy today. There are very few people I'd wish physical harm on, but Tila Tequila...yeah, I can make an exception.
  20. Too. Flippin'. Hot. And like a zillion percent humidity. Suckyyyy... I guess it's supposed to cool down next week, though. Thank god - I can't take it anymore!
  21. I had the best donut ever today! God it's hard to find a good donut, but I finally found a spot that doesn't make 'em all greasy. I predict gaining 10 pounds in the near future.
  22. Richard Childress Racing is bringing out the #3 for the truck race this weekend so his precious little grandson can run it. Either retire the number or don't, but don't keep trotting it out every once in a while and act all nonchalant about it and expect people not to get their knickers in a twist, and then when they do, act like you don't know what their problem is. I don't care if Childress' grandfather ran in the #3, I don't care if Mike Skinner won the Truck Series championship in the #3 - YOU were the ones who decided to retire the number after Dale died, so deal with it! Sorry, I know nobody here cares, but I had to let it out, and I couldn't post it on a NASCAR board or I'd probably start a flame war or something because nobody can have a sensible discussion around there anymore.
  23. I'd just like to offer a bit of advice, if I might. If the accelerator in your car gets stuck, TURN OFF THE KEY!!! And don't bother calling 911, because apparently they don't know about obvious stuff like that. 3 or 4 people just got killed because their accelerator got stuck while they were driving on a freeway here in SD county, and that particular freeway just ends when you get to its northernmost point. You can turn right or left onto another street, but there is nothing but dirt straight ahead. They knew the pedal was stuck, but I guess they didn't think about turning off the engine or putting on the emergency brake, so they called 911 for help. Apparently 911 didn't think of it either and told them they were SOL, because 2 minutes later they crashed at the end of the freeway. My thoughts are with their family. I just thought I should tell you guys that in case you're ever in that situation, since evidently 911 wouldn't tell you. I can see how, if you were in a panic, you wouldn't exactly be thinking straight, but I CANNOT BELIEVE that 911 didn't think of something.
  24. My best friend cast me as Keira Knightley in a "Who would play you in a movie" thingy on Facebook, yay! I just put on a bunch of makeup to see if I really did look anything like her, lol, since she's always got the smoky-eye thing going on. Eh, I think my friend's taking some artistic liberties, hehe, but I'll take the compliment!
