  2. My passcode was B9Z43D...I was in disbelief when I made it onto the special site for tickets...the ebay passcode was NOT a fake! Whew! One of the smarter moves in my life. Flew out on a Friday from Atlanta...got my tix on Sunday...saw RnR history on Monday. Here are the songs I really wanted to hear...I could easily add a dozen more... For Your Life! In My Time of Dying The Rover Achilles Last Stand In the Light Carouselambra I'm Gonna Crawl Tangerine I guess Robert has made it very clear. That was the last show...forever. I promised myself if I ever got the chance, I would not miss the boys. And I didn't. Funny thing is, I paid a mere fraction of what I was eager and willing to pay for the whole deal. Rock on, Led Zeppelin, rock on...
  3. Yes, Jimmy Page is number one...but... Check out LOUDNESS' AKIRA TAKASAKI on STREET LIFE DREAM. Unbelievable...
  4. I waited 35 years to see the boys. There was going to be no tears from me. Went out to ebay and saw around 90 passcodes! Could not believe my freaking eyes. Started getting hot in my study...what to do, what to do? Called a friend and asked him if he could go...while I was on the phone, the numbers of available passcodes started dropping drastically. Time to make a decision, with or without my bud. Had the balls to push the BUY IT NOW for $300. When it was all over, I invited a hot chick and we both saw the best band in the world for a paltry total of $400 each. I bet all of you anti-touts who could not make the show now wish you had done that. I learned something that day...if you want it, go for it. Do not hesitate. I would have paid $3K for that ticket...and it would have been so worth it...after all...it's only money.
  5. It is painfully obvious, that...after all we have gone through to see this band...that if you leave early to catch a freaking bus, taxi, train...whatever...that you are a WANKER and do not deserve a ticket in the first place! Valhalla, I am coming!!!
  6. B9Z43D@O2! (Michael) - Midland, GA - arriving 12/8 Beverly - Auburn, AL - arriving 12/8
  7. I believe it is at the IndigO2...a club near, or attached to, the O2 Arena... See www.TheIndigo2.co.uk
  8. Apples and Oranges...but since I like apples better than oranges... I can say that Jimmy Page has always been my favorite. But, I do not consider him best. Don Felder, Joe Walsh, Steve Vai??? Give me a break! Even Eddie Van Halen...sorry...can't do it. He kicked the rock scene in the ass in the late 70s, early 80s and he has a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reserved for him, but he by no means can be included in the top 5...would have to really think hard if he is to even make top 10. There are so many guitarists that are so incredibly talented. But here is my very short list of the top 4... I don't have the time of day to think about 5-100... Here goes: 1, 2 - Tie between Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. The two rock gods of all time. I lean to Jimi because of what he did...what he came up with...had NEVER been done before...and that earns him a huge chunk of votes. Stevie is right there for being the only guitarist I know of who became one with the instrument...there was not a note or sound that he did not know that a guitar could make. 3 - Jimmy Page. 4 - Joe Satriani. If you don't know about him or think he should not be here, go see him live. Your jaw should drop. Others who can play the hell out of a guitar: Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, David Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Keith Richards, Glenn Phillips, Pete Frampton, Jay Mascis, Porl Thompson, Michael Schenker, Frank Zappa, Alex Lifeson, Frank Marino, Reeves Gabrels, Billy Duffy, Dave Navarro, Rhandy Rhodes, Eddie Van Halen, Leo Kottke, Neil Young, Danny Gatton, Lindsey Buckingham, Neal Schon...etc...
  9. Hopefully the band will pick two other shorter songs to play instead of Stairway. That would be just dandy by me!
  10. Wow...I am very surprised. Now you have me thinking about buying a nice digital (nicer than I already have)...one that will slip into a pocket. I will be very surprised if that holds up. In many years of seeing many shows, I have NEVER been to a show that said, sure, come on in with your camera. Anyone knows what the Ticketmaster site says?
  11. $90 or so for the Eagles Reunion tour...not worth it at all...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz $640 or so...somewhere in there for Opening Ceremony Ticket to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics...absolutely WORTH IT!!!
  12. The morning of October 2, I found probably 100 passcodes sitting on the net...on an unamed webpage (!), waiting to be purchased. I called a friend in Atlanta, asking him what he thought. And as we talked, he told me he could not make the trip... and I watched the numbers start to dwindle before my very eyes... Talk about taking a hard swallow... 10 available... refresh... 8 available... refresh... 6 available... GOOD GRIEF! When 4 remained, I jumped and pushed the BUY IT NOW button, hoping that I had not thrown $300 out the window. And now we all know the rest of the story... So how can my passcode provider be classified as a horrible, greedy, tout? He helped me achieve a dream... I will forever be indebted to him. How many of you folks who badmouth these businessmen would have passed up on that kind of a deal? My advice to Sick as a parrot...find the money...you might be able to find one for $2-3K... In 5, 10 years, what will that kind of money mean? Your memories are what last forever...and even if they tour next year, this UK show will be an evening to remember forever...
  13. I guess I don't understand all this "if it goes well" stuff and "if they pull it off"... GIVE ME A BREAK...this is LED ZEPPELIN, folks. It is not like they have not played any Zep songs since they called it a night 27 years ago...and it is not like they are rusty. They have played pretty much the whole 27 years and much of the time it was Zep material...so I just don't get where the worry and concern is... Who forgets to ride a bike or what to do in the sack? Let us hope nobody... Especially for Plant...the boy has been incredibly busy...he cannot hit the notes he used to, but he will do! JPJ has been very busy, too, although under radar...and he probably has preferred that seeing as he is the one given the least respect for his input in the band. The one of the three whom you could question may by Jimmy...as far as being active. But listen to his interviews...he is ready and willing...he is fired up...you can tell that he, himself, is greatly impressed with how the rehearsals have gone. Jason is a mystery but I have faith that he will be more prepared than anybody...he has a lot of pressure on him, but he will come through with flying colors! Their age means nothing. Just look at them and listen to them. They are still young, and in about the best shape I have seen them in many, many years...especially Jimmy...he looks fantastic! His hair really gives him the ROCK GUITAR GOD look now! And he looks like he has lost a lot of weight...very svelt! So chill, all, as to how it will 'go'... It is going to be a HELL of a show...and the boys will produce big time...and this will springboard them into shows next year...whether a full tour or 7 nights each in NY, Chicago and LA... It WILL happen and I WILL be THERE!
  14. Hey, Wolfie... Zep will tour again. Nobody is being selfish or greedy. Just hopeful. And I believe it will happen. If it doesn't, I will have the O2 show to fall back on... I will have seen the boys...so tour or no tour, I am good. But since you are such a doubter, how about when the tickets do go on sale, you wander off to a local library and read a book. That will allow someone else who has never seen the band to have your ticket! Rock and Roll, baby! Ya gotta believe!
  15. "...would you pay if you could afford it?" I think you answered your own question. Why shouldn't you, if you can afford it? I always wondered, "What would I pay to see my favorite band...the 'one that got away'?" I have also always thought of my home equity line of credit as my Line of Zeppelin Credit... And instead of having to cough up $4K...which was about my limit, I paid a paltry sum to be able to say, "London, here I come." Buy It Now, baby, Buy It Now!
  16. The REAL nervous person will be Jason... Can you imagine? These men who he probably once looked to as 'uncle' types are now his friends, his co-workers and on a level of sorts, his peers. Can you imagine what his thoughts are? Doing this for dad, not wanting to mess up, the world will be listening and comparing him to his father and then of course, will he please the original three members? He won't need anything for constipation...that is for sure! And on the other 'end' of the spectrum...can you imagine how relaxed he will be at the aftershow party?
  17. IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS SPINAL TAP...CRANK THOSE MARSHALLS TO 11 AND LET'S ROCK AND ROLL!!!
  18. The Ahmet tribute...2 new releases...the LED XM channel...countless interviews...the kidding around...the hints...the ballot...the millions of hits...the million or so ballot entries...this new website...and the biggest one...Jimmy will not say 'NO!' It is all just good marketing, right?...and coincidental...uh, not. This has nothing to do with greed or taking advantage of a situation. Ahmet would be the FIRST to say go for it boys! The time is right...it feels right...Zep waited this long for the stars to align and they have. I learned many moons ago to never trust what the lead singer of a rock 'n' roll band says! The boys will be touring in 2008. The naysayers shall see. They shall see me with tickets, going to as many shows as my wallet will allow me to go to...!
  19. Hard to say who is the GREATEST BAND...they are my fave for sure...could possibly be considered the best because as someone pointed out earlier, each member can be considered to be in the top few of their instrument... But as much as I like them as a group...IN MY OPINION...only one qualifies to be the best at what they do...all of this is jest my opinion though... Singer: Roy Orbison and Steve Perry...2-way tie Robert would easily fall into the top 10 list...possibly top 5...I have heard him miss some notes to where Simon might have to comment...Roy and Steve cannot be matched, however...completely different ends of the spectrum but both sitting in the same place...number one. Guitaritst: Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn...2-way tie, closest race Jimmy is a very close third. I give Jimi the nod because of his innovation and Stevie Ray the nod because when he played the guitar, he became the guitar...I know of no other artist who KNEW his instrument as well as this man did his. Jimi's innovation far, far outpaces anything Jimmy, or anybody else for that matter, has come up with, although Jimmy's writing is superior. And Jimmy didn't drown in his own vomit of cheap wine and greasy chicken...so there are points there for Jimmy...this one was almost too close to call. Where Jimmy and his Les Paul were a powerful team, Stevie was his guitar...they were one. Bass / Keyboards: Jaco Pastorious and Geddy Lee and John Paul Jones...3-way tie here JPJ is number one in this category when you look at his writing and arrangements...JPJ is the unsung hero of Zep. He will NEVER get the acclaim he deserves...but we true Zeppers know the scoop. Thank you JPJ...thank you so much for being not only the catalyst but also the glue. Geddy and his Rickenbacher are just ridiculous...what a great sound. Jaco is the innovative one of the group...like Stevie Ray Vaughn...he knows his stuff...becomes the bass! Drummer: Buddy Rich and Neil Peart I know, I know...how dare I? Well, just go onto the internet and find some footage of these two giants of sound...Buddy Rich does tricks with sticks that I have seen no other drummer do... The best. But you have to give equal credit to Neil Peart. He can play a sock. Just dangle it in front of him. The man is a genius and truly is the professor of the drum kit. And, of course, Bonzo would be up there in the top 5...but I would hate to have to line him up with the likes of Keith Moon and Tommy Aldridge. ________________________ Hmmm...do I see two members of Rush as number one on their instruments? Don't worry, Zeppers... Although Rush is fantastic, they have not produced any masterpieces in 15-20 years... Sadly, they are not in the running for greatest band... All hail the mighty Zep who bring us the Thunder of the Gods!
  20. Just got off the phone with Jimmy... Carouselambra is a big thumbs up! A great, great song...we are so lucky! It shall be played for us by the boys...although it WILL NOT be the opener...
