  1. You're thinking of Jon Lord, he was the keyboard player until 2002 when Don Airey took over. Rod Evans was the original singer from 68 - 69.
  2. I've seen "What the Python's Did Next" before, it's very interesting.
  3. No problem, cheers! THRUST - A Quite Controversial Look At The World Around Us:
  4. Here's that Dennis Moore sketch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAs2m7Hr3Bc

  6. Do any of you own a cat? If so, have you confused your cat recently? I'm afraid I'm not personally qualified to confuse cats, but I can recommend an extremely good service:
  7. It seems to be a trend on this forum whenever another musician says something nice about Led Zeppelin. The thread on Dave Grohl's love of Zep is a prime example.
  8. I used to be well into them back when they released the first album. I saw them about four times at various festivals, very good live band. They paid tribute to Led Zep on the track "Wake Up", listen to that opening riff:
  9. That's a great story, Leddy! I wish I could've gone to that, but I was only 13 at the time. I can still remember the buzz that the MkII reformation caused though and Tommy Vance's announcement of it on the Friday Rock Show!
  10. Well, I purchased the debut album by Zephyr a few weeks back, that's pretty good. Have you looked on youtube? There is loads of Tommy Bolin material on there: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tommy+bolin
  11. No. My three favourite guitarists are Page, Iommi & Blackmore, managed to see 2 out of 3. I'd love a reunion of Deep Purple MkIII. Or, if Ian Paice couldn't do it, Blackmore, Lord, Hughes & Coverdale could go on tour with a different drummer. It'd be amazing.
  12. That's the fourth time I've bought TSRTS Soundtrack. Vinyl, cassette, CD and now the new remastered CD. I'll be buying the movie for the third time soon as well!
  13. Check out their official myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/budgieofficialmyspace The track 'Guts' is the first song from their debut album. There is also the classic 'Breadfan' from their third album from 1973 and two tracks from their most recent album, which came out last year.
  14. Yeah, it's an amazing sound and very revolutionary! Budgie's debut album, which came out just one month before 'Master Of Reality' has a very similar sound. They had the same producer at the time, so it's probably no coincidence.
  15. It was actually Geezer Butler who wrote most of the lyrics. Ozzy came up with the vocal melodies though.
  16. Yeah, I do like the Morse era. I've enjoyed the albums, particularly "Purpendicular" & "Rapture of the Deep". Still very enjoyable live, but you're right, it's not the same without Blackmore. There's not that intensity like when he used to be on the stage. I've never seen them live, just going by the recordings I've heard and seen. The current Deep Purple is better than no Deep Purple though!
  17. You can buy "Live in Stuttgart 1993" separately now. Play.com are selling it for £7.99, I totally recommend it, they were on superb form that night and the sound quality is excellent. It's the whole show with no edits and they played for over 2 hours. I don't like JLT era Deep Purple, I think "Slaves & Masters" is by far the worst DP album.
  18. Have you heard "Speed King" on "Live In Stuttgart" when they go into the "Burn" riff during the extended instrumental section? A truly magical moment!
  19. I agree. The trio of "In Rock", "Fireball" & "Machine Head" is incredible. Three completely different, but brilliant albums. "Who Do We Think We Are" isn't too shabby either and "Made In Japan" is one of the all time great live albums. I do enjoy the MkIII & MkIV lineups as well though. "Burn", "Stormbringer" & "Come Taste the Band" are all up there with the MkII material for me and there are some cracking live albums from those lineups to compete with "Made In Japan".
