Awww, yes MSG you're right about the memories of The Zep and Pagey in particular - it's cherished memories for both of us I'm sure Here's a toast right back at you..ILJP and MSG, your memories makes me wana go back in time, and Wish I was there, with you as a "tag-along", a "little cross-cultural experience"...that would been a journey of journeys...I would have simply loved it...God!!
unforgettable memories....well, here is another toast to your warm affection for one and another...
Awww 'PlanetPage' I would love to go back and revisit that time again too (love the Pagey picture btw )!! We probably would have had a fantastic time together I would really have never thought that all these years later, I would be reminiscing with Zep and Pagey fans about those times. It just goes to show how magnificent, timeless and wonderful the music of Led Zeppelin actually is!!Here's a toast to you and all of the amazing people that I have met on this site
Aw, PlantPage, I agree with what my good friend ILJP just said - of course, you would have been welcome to join us back then and we would have had a fantastic time together.

Ha ha ha - now that would be way too funny if they had a smiley going "down on it's knees". Of course you know I would be using that one a lot!!!
Thanks, ILJP. And, me too.

Oh yeah.......
He has a killer smile doesn't he?
mmmmm
Nice hands too.
Hotplant, I'm sorry to say that last night in Montreal was the last show of this tour so this is probably it as far as CC pics - at least until next year.

None of the women I know who've encountered the Golden God have ever complained about the size of the man's

lips.

Jimmy called Miss Pamela a bimbo? Harsh. She seems like such a charming woman. Did he call her this in public and what was the provocation - her first book?
I'm sorry to derail the mysteries thread and, while I don't have time to quote all of the posts about Pamela that were made here right now (I'm in the middle of cooking dinner), I just wanted to say that Pamela is a charming woman. She is also self-assured and charismatic. One of my friends met her and spent some time with her when Pamela was in Austin last month. I asked my friend about her and she told me that Pamela is still charming and self-assured and charismatic but my friend also described her as "wonderful" and "intelligent" and "caring" and "very spiritual". I don't know whether or when Jimmy might have called her a "bimbo" but no one I know who has ever spent time with Pamela and gotten to know her has described her as that.

Oh yes MSG, most definitely!! Just thinking back to those times puts a tremendous grin on my face
All these years later, the memory remains the same - and (thankfully) it doesn’t go away, does it, ILJP? Here’s to the days of our youth.
LOL ILJP, when I first saw this in your post: I thought you had found a little smiley going down on its knees.

Jimmy out shopping in London:
Aw, Jimmy Page. Thanks for sharing those great pics, Yardbird. HaHa, my husband and I have shopped at Selfridges when we've been in London (or rather, I've shopped while my husband has waited patiently) and, all the times we've been in there, I never would have imagined that Jimmy Page shops there. If I thought about it, I probably would have imagined that Jimmy has personal assistants who shop for him.
-
Oh my goodness!! I just love sweaty Jimmy - this picture is just so HOT!!!!!
ILJP, the onstage "sweaty Jimmy" pics are great but you and I both know that the offstage "sweaty Jimmy" is especially appealing.
-
Good find!!
Thanks Hotplant. Here's another one from the same night. Apparently these were taken when Jimmy strolled into their dressing rooms at their London show.

An email from someone who I haven't heard from in years. The sentiments expressed touched me. I would share it but I don't know if this person reads this board. One line has stayed with me throughout the day and the thought of it has made me happy:
"MSG, you have what everyone wants."
And, no, he wasn't referring to material things. Not at all.
(If you are reading this, thank you so much. Your message meant a lot to me. )
-
Yes I most definitely do know how you feel about that Pagey era MSG, and the feeling is mutual
Oh, I know it is, ILJP!
-
Holy Mother of GAWD!!!
I'm right-clicking away!! Thanx sista!
Whewwwwwwww!!!
His latest band ROCKS!
HaHa! I knew you'd like that one! Enjoy!

Yes, he is fantastic. The other members of his current band are great too.
I don't know which of these pics you already have in your collection:

Some old scans of Jimmy...
ILJP, you and I have already talked about these three scans so you know how I feel about them and that particular Pagey era. Thanks for re-posting.

To our USA folks..
Have you taken advantage of early voting?
Please people, 18 and above...use your right to vote NOW!!!
If you don't you can't bitch. Well...you can but it won't be as valid.
PLEASE everybody...GET OUT and VOTE!!!!!!
I have already.
Do it!!!!
Thanks for the reminder.
I'm phone banking today (on break right now and blasting "Whipping Post").
I voted on Friday. My husband wanted to vote "straight party" but I told him I wanted the pleasure of bubbling in Obama/Biden.

Alas, my good friend MSG has told me privately that she doesn't think this woman is Morgana. She knows better than I do, so that one remains a mystery.
There aren't many Zep-related things that I know better than you do, Otto.
EL, I think the woman in that photo with Robert and Michael D. might be Cherie Curry. She's the girl on the right in the photo you posted.

The Song Remains the Same: Led Zeppelin - 40 Years Gone
Thursday, November 20 - 7:30 pm
The Barbour Room, The Sage Gateshead
Archivist and documentary maker Chris Phipps hosts this special event which will consider the roots, influences and un-paralleled self-indulgence of four musicians. Also discussing the myth that is Led Zeppelin is the multi award-winning music director Dick Carruthers who produced and directed the groundbreaking 2003 'Led Zeppelin: DVD' (the biggest selling music DVD of all time). It will be complemented by a screening of the band's legendary concert film 'The Song Remains The Same'.
There will be a taped interview with Dick Carruthers (occurring soon), who will discuss the recent dvd production of "The Song Remains the Same". Fans can post questions for Carruthers here in this thread - Three questions will be chosen for the taped interview and shown at the upcoming event on Nov. 20th. (Questions should only be regarding "The Song Remains the Same").
Sam, thanks for giving us the opportunity to submit questions to Dick Carruthers.
Do outtakes, unseen/unreleased footage, or still photos from the three nights at MSG in ’73 that weren't included in TSRTS exist? Are there additional scenes of the audience and of the LZ members backstage that were edited out and saved in archives? Does the original concert footage that was replaced by the scenes that were filmed at Shepperton still exist? Who owns the rights to the unseen/unreleased film footage and is it likely that any of this footage will ever be released?

Ok...well, of course I saw Chris Cornell Saturday night. There's a clip on youtube of the salt lake show. It was absolute torture for the first what seemed like a decade of some DJ on first with hip hop blasting so loud the hairs in my nose were shaking. It was NOT my trip AT ALL.
I sat there thinking....I've never had to pay 40 bucks to hear a fk'n dj!!!! And not for a friggen hour and a half. THEN....Timbaland comes out with a screwy band and the decibels to deafen again played on and on and on. All while jacking his jaws about Justin f'n Timberlake. (??? )
FINALLY after an incredibly LONG tear down and set up Chris comes out and I swear at that moment it was like giving birth, all the pain went away and all the sweetness was there. OH YEAH!!!!
I almost caught his sweaty towel...................*sigh* I was very close about three "people rows" back.
He was so nice to the fans, slappin and shaking everyone's hands in the front. He was at a meet and greet earlier and had his kids and wife and was signing anything and everything. He sang right AT me, I swear he did because several people looked back at me like "who is she?" I have no idea why other than I was the only one without a camera phone in front of their face. I wasn't the only one either, he was incredible to the audience. The band were super friendly too, throwing, or even handing out picks and drumsticks. Chris played the entire Scream LP. As per Timberland's orders
I saw he canceled the next day in Arizona, supposedly for Laryngitis He had NO problem with the screams Saturday. But the vocal "mix" or whatever was terrible. You had to strain a bit to hear him over everything else.
But I didn't give two hoots because he sang to me. LOL!!!!!!! And you could see his grey undershorts when he lifted those awesome sexy arms of his. His hands are ...well, I have a thing for hands and
his were very sexy. And OMG..those eyes.........*knockdown gorgeous* whewww..
He is now (at least till I get over it) The SEXIEST frontman alive.
And Mad, you are right Yogi and Peter are great and sweet too!
Peter signed a poster for me.
What a great experience! I'm so glad that you got to see them. I agree - the band members are super friendly and nice guys.
HaHa! That's cool that you caught Chris's eye.
btw, somewhere in my photobucket, I have a photo of Jason Sutter (drummer) in a Zep t-shirt and another of some of the guys backstage. I can't find them right now but, when I do, I'll PM you.

(Not sure if this one has been posted yet) With Michael Des Barres.
This one is from the same night - from the reference on Robert's t-shirt to Kim Fowley and the Runaways, I think it is from '75:

AMAZONIC, my dear, you just can't resist fanning the flames, can you? And, we love you for doing so.
aw, ILJP, it's that glimpse of Jimmy's leg in that pic that evokes some of the best memories.
