  1. Sorry, Sam, I'm still not convinced. The outside marquee photo may have been from the April 15, 1977 concert. The ticket stub says "Missouri Arena", when it was called the St. Louis Arena. I do believe they did not play at the Arena until the '75 tour.
  2. Was anybody at the May 11, 1973 Led Zeppelin concert in St. Louis? The Timeline page says it was at the "Missouri Arean", but I remember the radio ad mentioning Kiel Auditorium. Come on, my fellow St. Louis Zep Heads, help me out here please!
  3. Nice work, indeed. Especially tahoezep for his recollection, and SteveAJones for getting the confirmation. And thank you, Sam for the new entry in the timeline.
  4. Thanks, E.L., for posting the link to the Las Vegas Weekly.
  5. Hey, Steve, I think this is evolving into a "Zeppelin Mystery"!
  6. Commercial Center (or what's left of it, anyway) is located just south of E. Sahara Ave., about a block west of Maryland Pkwy.
  7. Well, it would make sense for them to have played that date, it would have been right after they played San Diego on 8/10/69. Sounds like it might have been one of those spur-of-the-moment gigs, not on the official schedule. I wonder if this has ever been brought to Sam's attention?
  8. Really? I wonder why it's not included on any of the dates in the "timeline" portion of this website. Do you know the exact date by any chance?
  9. From Zurich, Switzerland, 29 June 1980: "Well! Uh, guten tag, I mean, uh, good evening. Sorry about the uh, small delay...unforseen things. Very nice to be back in Switzerland again. Uh, been quite a long time, I think, since Montreaux. Anybody remember Montreaux? Showing your age, kids! Well, since we hit the road last time, we managed to make, create, and put out on album complete with artwork called 'In Throught the Out Door'. This is uh, one track from it, it's called, 'In the Evening'.
  10. I'm listening to the song right now, it sure sounds like Georgina to me, too...
  11. So, the question seems to be: Is he singing "Oh, Georgina" or "I'll touch Jesus"?
  12. Here's the best link I could find. It doesn't have the whole interview, but describes it pretty well...Visit My Website
  13. Did any of you guys get a chance to listen and/or see the Artimus Pyle interview with Howard Stern last year? He explained the plane crash in vivid detail, and how he went for help and was shot, etc...
  14. What about: "Good evening! You might say 'welcome to the Forum', because it's getting a bit like our front room, you know what I mean? Well, if this is the last night out of six nights, six nights out of seven, we're going to do our best to play--and it looks like--until we fall over!"
  15. My signature line, spoken right after Sick Again:
  16. I don't think Bonzo appeared on any of Tim Rose's albums, I think he just toured with him briefly, right before Jimmy and Robert came calling...
  17. Where's that confounded bridge?
  18. It only took me 35 years to notice this, but he does says "he" at the beginning of the song. As far as the song itself, it is definitely a goof on James Brown, especially at the end. "Mother Popcorn", I think, is a song where Brown sings "take me to the bridge", and Plant sings "I'm just trying to find the bridge". Funny!
  19. I don't know, it just seems a shame that they did six more tours of America after that Vegas show got cancelled in '70, and never scheduled another show there. Maybe they was some bad blood there with the promoters and Peter Grant?
  20. "Albion" is the ancient name of Great Britain, and as we all know, Led Zeppelin is British. "Oh, Albion remain" is a quote from Achilles Last Stand which I thought sounded cool and would be a cool screen name.
  21. Yeah, you're right, it's gone, another victim of modern Vegas makeover...
