  1. So I'm here in Phoenix and there is a airplane boneyard in Tucson. Anyone know the Starships VIN number or other identifier? Tucson's not far and the place is open to the public. I'd seriously check this out if I get enough info. Anybody in AZ want to tag along? EDIT: Wiki says it was dismantled for parts in July 1982. : (
  2. Wow - pretty good sound for the mic being on the floor and pretty ballsy to hand over the mic and then break out the Super 8MM! I guess PG only said you're not allowed to tape the concert, he never said anything about filming it! THANKS MAN!
  3. Based on the description I was thinking Jennings Farm Blues...
  4. These Copenhagen shows get a lot of love, but I've tried and tried over the years to get into them. But I just can't, the recordings sound so thin compared to stuff like Blueberry Hill or Going To California or the 19 Sept 1970 shows in New York. Until there's a better tape the majority of stuff I listen to is between 1969 and 1973.
  5. Yes, but not in the way you think. He was navigator and flew a mission after the bomb drop.
  6. Beautiful Steve! The same photo lab that made the reprint of my Reykjavik ticket, reprinted this photo and cleaned it up a lot. Amazing what can be do w these days. THANKS!
  7. Thanks Steve! I was really close with my Grandfather and this photo showed up many years after his death. I doubt he ever saw it, but he did talk about this experience from time to time. It came to the family in the most random of ways... Some long lost cousin found my father on Facebook and posted this photo.
  8. Love Pledge Pin and am really keen on Plant's first two solo records over all the others (apart from those with Alison).
  9. Too all the Veterans in this forum, Thank you for your service. These are photos of my Grandfather somewhere in the South Pacific in 1945 and my Father somewhere in Turkey in 1967. I never wore the uniform but did work at military bases throughout Iraq and Afghanistan for more than 10 years. Thanks to all who've worn the uniform.
  10. Have you seen the photos from that show? LOTS of great audience shots. Maybe you're in one of them.
  11. Finally got it framed and up in the office. This is how she looks under glass. Thought you'all might enjoy the signed Storm Torgerson Meddle print too. I know there are a few Floyd fans here. Thanks!
  12. My buddy at work was at this show. He was 14, first concert and totally wasted. He remembers very little, sadly.
  13. Spent the weekend in Chicago to catch The Black Angels gig and stayed just a few steps away from The Drake Hotel. I know Zeppelin used The Drake as their home base between 1973 and 1977. Neal Preston's Portraits book contains a few during this time. Here's what it looks like today. Cheers!
  14. Same! Was thinking the guy with the camera was going for the same shot like Janis at Monterey Pop just a couple years prior.
  15. Aw man - I wish there was more of the acoustic set. Regardless its BEAUTIFUL footage.
  16. Add the lense through which his baby boy died just a few years before this too.
  17. I was in 7th grade when John Henry passed. I knew of Led Zeppelin and was only familiar with the 4th album. This event set off a lifelong passion about everything related to this band. Hard to believe they had accomplished so much by the age of 32. RIP Bonzo ✌️
  18. I can see Page now showing Plant how to do this and that. Imagine the two of these guys just strumming acoustic guitars together in 1970 as they work on tracks for the third album.
  19. The guy captured history right there. Some of my favorite moments from that gig are captured here. Absolutely wonderful. TY SO MUCH!
