  1. Excellent! Thanks, that narrows it down. See a bunch of google results already saying they did jam, but alas not dates. Anyways thanks, I got a road to go on now. Have heard his music never saw the face. Now I know.
  2. Here's one for ya... Interesting picture...can't seem to find a time or place where Neil, Robert and an accordian did time... anyone ? Or is it a very good fake ?
  3. I always find the copies of CODA signed by Bonzo to be the most amusing.
  4. Oh I am sure he had that intention. I cannot imagine them going on as New Yardbirds or a permutation thereof...I mean it'd be like the Spinal Tap scene... The Originals, the new Originals...
  5. Regardless, everyone sidestepped the fact that the "Marquee Mailer" called them The New Yardbirds
  6. Here's one for ya... Tried to search to see if I could find a topic concerning Zep ever being billed as the New Yardbirds? Remember that discussion Steve, on FBO? Either way I think the concensus was no they were never billed that way... till now... here's something to chew on...
  7. Actually, the sign is reversed.... it's a matter pf perspective...as we look at them was the sign ahead of or behind them... and a quick flip in photoshop... there even the man's overcoat buttons correctly now. ; ) there all better...
  8. I have also read that Tony Secunda , former manager of Procol Harum & The Move gives himself credit for pointing Plant in Page's direction. Supposedly he had arranged for Plant to come to London to meet up with Denny Cordell based on Plant's BoJ demo disck. But that didn;t work put as Denny was nooked with Joe Cocker and Tony was ovewhelmed with Procol Harum & Move. "Then says Tony, I remembered that the Yardies were rumored to be coming unglued. I didn't think much of their prvious vocalist anyways. To me he was weak, he had no stage presence, he had hunched shoulders and was losing his voice. The Yardbirds had lacked vocal balls and I figured they could use Robert, So I pointed him in that direction." 'Plant adds: I knew that the Yardbirds has done a lot of work in America - which to me meant audiences who did want to know what I had to offer. So naturally I was interested." - The LZ Biography Ritchie Yorke. fate ...
  9. I'll help Steve out as he is obviously distraught over some simple math problems... Plant did indeed cut 6 singles under his contract with CBS. Listen (CBS 1966) You Better Run / Everybody's Gonna Say 202456 Robert Plant (CBS 1967) Our Song / Laughing Crying Laughing 202656 Long Time Coming / I've Got A Secret 2858 As a matter of fact it was his CBS contract that kept his name from appearing on any song credits on Led Zeppelin. All have been making rounds on various boot compilations for years and You Better Run and Our Song were released on RP's 66 To Timbuktu. Here have a Listen heh heh! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M95meaxKnMY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7kHGjwTpaw...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE3IIiOiJdk...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFqO5vPtfsI...feature=related
  10. I dunno Meg, that pic certainly makes it look like the sun's a coming or going and the shadows are either east west...and by my north/south I meant the end zones. I would think open air stadiums would've been engineered so as NOT to have the sun rising or setting into the eyes of a team...at least you would think. And how can you be google mapping it ? It ceased to exist in 1989.
  11. I wonder if the Plant shot in the paper clip is a stock one they used or one of the show as it would mean Robert did a reversal and swapped out his typical short blouse for the long sleeved shirt... Hmm maybe next we get weather reports to see if got got too cool for Robert's midriff!!! Love those big screens !!!! Where's the vid?!?!? grrrr.
  12. Looking thru this cool site: http://www.oldbuckeye.com/Houses_of_the_Holy/ and some of the venues in question... you got Braves Stadium http://www.oldbuckeye.com/Houses_of_the_Ho...ges/image6.html Tampa... http://www.oldbuckeye.com/Houses_of_the_Ho...s/image196.html Kezar http://www.oldbuckeye.com/Houses_of_the_Ho...s/image177.html 3 rivers http://www.oldbuckeye.com/Houses_of_the_Ho...s/image152.html You would think Zep played end zone right ? Seems like Kezar can be crossed off as that's obviously a north south orientation...Seems like 3 rivers is as well. Atlanta & Tampa not as much so. So..... Can I be best man ? I'll settle for ring bearer. Even though I do see some obstacles to this union.
  13. The 3 Rivers flight and arrival are well documented here: http://www.johnpauljones.com/multimedia.html and http://www.ledzeppelin.com/video/pittsburgh-1973 so I think we can count that out. Plant's wearing his blouse though! : )
  14. According to the concert file, the band arrived late, rushed to the stage and found the equiptment not working...Plant improved " We've only been awake a total of about 2 and a half hours.." Don't sound like they were ther early on for a soundcheck...hmmm or maybe that's why they were late ? Can you possibly post the second pic and we could tie 'em together ?
  15. I THOUGHT ALL CAPS MEANT YOU WERE SHOUTING?!?!?!!!! They brought in a handwriting suspect for me once too...but I was acquitted anyways....
  16. What's Jimmy's favorite color and where can I find a size 38 Dragon Suit ?

  17. When I had the honor of speaking with Jonesy back in 2003, and of all things we were talking about our kids, I mentioned my daughter was a really big fan of the Wallace and Grommit series. Jonesy said his daughter was involved with those. I do not know in what aspect though.... time to go check out some credits....
  18. Evvy baby, I thought you quit this forum...meanwhile I'm making T shirts like this . . . oh BOO!!!!! Dogs of Doom?!?!?!?!!!
  19. Going out on a limb here, but according to a Peter GRant Interview in Dave Lewis' Celebration II, it would seem that the only contact Clifton had with Zep prior to being hired to fix the mess Massot left behind with TSRTS was when he had approached them once about doing a film and took Jimmy and Grant to a a viewing theater and showed them a bunch of clips of Hendrix that he shot. So it would seems if Clifton had shot footage of them in spring of 70 as you suggest it was not known to them. I mean, you'd think he'd have shown them clips of themselves in trying to cozy up for a job.
  20. I was only joking, being facetious!!! But glad you have the dates memories oh master! Speaking of Rat Scabies and Nomis...maybe that's the next one to put up for the Page completists!!
