  1. yes, but just not being at work will be such fun!!! :D

it's great that you have so much time for your daughter, and that you really enjoy some great quality time with her. i wish my son was more into sports. he prefers playstation. he isn't overweight from it tho, actually he is naturally thin, lucky thing! and he eats quite healthily too. i think it's just the aspergers doing it's thing ...... :(

I know what you mean about not being at work!!! I am lucky to have a full time job that is only three days a week. My daughter may not have a father, but i make up for it (and my family are a big help, too)! My heart goes out to you. I know you do an incredible job raising your son and you should be so proud! icon12.gif

  2. Oh, that sounds like fun! :) (Tried to send you a PM; think your box is full?)

Hi Virginia, i will have to check my pm box. It was my daughter's idea. After she swam today she started asking me to play tennis with her. She said "mom, i can show you how to play :) "... i haven't played since my late teens, but it was fun showing her, lol. I hope you are staying sane with school and all the extra activities in your house!

  3. thanks ally and tangerine! :)

my partner is taking the same two weeks off work, and we are planning to take my youngest to the sydney zoo, a ferry ride, a day at luna park ( amusement park ) and also a trip to my home town to visit relatives who haven't seen my son since he was about two. then in the 2nd week ( my son will be back at school ), my partner and i are going to head further up the coast and visit with a couple of friends and stay a few days with my cousin who lives right on the beach. the weather should be just right by then. i am really looking forward to this, i haven't had a holiday for about two years!

Sounds like such fun! The vacation on the beach is what i consider paradise :) Have a great time, slave!

I got to play tennis with my daughter today. We had so much fun!

  4. today was the first day of spring. we have been having springlike weather for a few weeks now. i don't really like the summer, it gets quite hot here, but spring and autumn are just lovely.

and i am looking forward to two weeks holiday soon.

Hi Slave, i envy you... i wish spring was starting all over again here :) Even with the heat of the summer, sure beats the cold winters! Have a great holiday! Any plans? My holiday has five more days to go. Enjoying every minute!

Happy to have relaxed all day now heading out to the swim club. If it's too cold to swim, lots of playgrounds for my daughter to run around!

  5. Cute puppy,Electrophile... enjoy him! Teddy as in Teddy bear sounds cute, :) I always wanted a miniature collie or a cocker spaniel. Maybe when my daughter is a couple years older and can help take care of her.

Happy that after being off almost a week now, i still have more than a week off ahead of me! Had great fun swimming and especially watching my daughter swim better and better every day! We went in the five feet and she swam and was able to tread water so well! She also jumps in the deep water and i don't have to catch her! Seriously considering swim team in the next year or two.

  6. Thanks for the vacation wishes Virginia and Mandy. Great that you reached your running goal, Virginia! Best luck in getting that job, Mandy!

Well since the site has been updated, much slower on my PC. Time to start using my new one i guess. So happy my vacation is official. Slept a few hours today after working night shift. Took my daughter to Carrabas for dinner and she was so behaved and fun!

  7. Happy that just 24 more hrs. at work and off for 14 days. Gonna hit the beach, visit friends, and swim!

Also happy to hear that many bar owners are boycotting that piece of dog poop Mike Vick! Not just in Philly but all over the country. Good job people with hearts.

  8. Don't know if you can call it happy but I'm in for chemo treatment #8 today and just 4 more to go. Yippee! :cheer:

Great news about getting a paycheck! Just as great that you are in the home stretch now! Time to start thinking about your celebration when it's all over!

This made me happy, but i'm not sure if it meant anything. I'm in the pool near one of the ladders (close to the lifequard stand) playing with my daughter. The pool was pretty empty. The other hot lifeguard (my Brad wasn't there today) is walking toward the stand to switch places with the other lifeguard. He drops his whistle into the pool and then asks me "will you get my whistle for me"? So i said sure where is it (since i didn't see him drop it). He points to where he dropped it, about ten feet away from where i am. So i go to the bottom and get it for him. He smiles and thanks me. Man, it seemed like a set-up :) He did jump into a conversation i was having with my daughter's swim instructor a couple weeks ago and asked my daughter's age and birthday. Well.... i'm waiting for something to happen...

  9. Hi Tangerine,

About as good as i ride a bike, and thats brill, :D but if you think i'm comming to get you across the pond lady think again, i aint that good yet.

Seriously though, i can swim alright, just not as good as when i was a lot younger, i use to frequent the Lido every day and i would never get tired of swimming, oh the fruits of youth aye, i used to swim like a Bannana now i float like a Dried Plum (Prune) How about you tangerine?

    Kind Regards, Danny

Hi Danny, I like you too much to ask you to swim across the ocean :) much too dangerous. I have loved swimming since i was five. I had lessons for a couple of years when i was young and learned all the strokes. I have swam in all kinds of water, from lakes to the grassy Florida bay, and even in the Florida Everglades (weren't supposed to be there, but didn't realize we had gotten away from the Gulf of Mexico) was pulled over by the Coast Guard. One of my three favorites things in life (sleeping, swimming, and eating, lol) and then the third S. B)

I got happy at 11:05pm when i was walking to my car after a busy day at work. Happy to start my countdown to my next vacation, just five more shifts until i have off for 14 days!

  10. Hi Tangerine,

Great news Tangerine you must be very proud? my oldest is 24 and he can now only just manage to keep his bum on the surface when swimming, he has good strong arms and legs but his middle just sinks every time he swims.

    Kind Regards, Danny

    Hi Danny,

You know i am (very proud)! She can swim underwater and even backfloat (though only for a few seconds unsupported). She jumps into the pool and has even gone on the big slide! I am signing her up for lessons this fall at a nearby raquetclub/fitness center that has an indoor pool and provides kids programs, including swim lessons all year round! You know, your son isn't too old for lessons if he needs a few :) Do you swim, Danny?

  11. My daughter's last swim lesson, and being told by her instructor how great she has done! In eight weeks my four year old can swim! Now i hope she passes her final swim test for the season (first one was much easier), tomorrow! She is also due to receive her "perfect attendance" trophy!

  12. I wash my face with plain Dove bar soap once a day (that's what my dermatologist recommended).

Dove is the only soap i buy and have been using Dove for years. I do like to use shower gel after washing with Dove for a little scent (my favorites are Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon and my daughter's Suave Watermelon Shampoo) :) I don't often wear make-up, but i have Bare Minerals for special occasions.

  13. The intermittant rain kept me from swimming today so i relaxed at home for a change. Then my daughter and i went out for a delicious Japanese dinner. She had Hibachi (grilled) shrimp and chicken with rice/veggies soup and salad. I had shrimp and vegetable tempura. Hoping to get to bed early tonight, for a change....
