  1. Feels strange without her around. I dreamed about her alot last night.
  2. Thank you slave to zep, Virginia, Mandy, ninelives, and ally for your kind words. I really miss my cat
  3. Thank you, Patrycja! I appreciate the kind thoughts.
  4. I'm glad you got Sugar on meds, she should be fine now. I know, i take Synthroid, too. Jasmine would chirp along to songs he liked. Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" was another favorite. I always like the Eagles and when "The End of the Innocence" was released, i became a big fan of Don's solo music, too. For me, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin were always my two favorites (although i discovered Zeppelin first)!
  5. I can understand, but then, it may also be theraputic in some ways, too. The only other pet i had that died was my grey cheeked parakeet (who led an awesome life!). Jasmine died at 17 years of age in my dad's hand (one of his/her favorite spots to take a nap, lol). Jasmine loved rock music and Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" was always his favorite song. I always think of Jasmine when i hear it. Nelly Furtado's "I'm Like a Bird" is a real sad one, though i don't listen to that kind of music really, Jasmine was still living when that song came out and so i loved it! Now if i hear it (doesn't happen often) makes me cry. Lets hope Sugar lives a very long life!
  6. Thank you for your warm thoughts, BUCK EYE DOC! My cat had liver failure, the vet says from aging. She was fifteen years and three months. It hit her fast. She ate breakfast today so i thought that was a good sign, but her lethargy increased and by the afternoon she would barely move. I miss her so much right now. She was my first cat. I have another one that's fourteen and i hope this doesn't affect her too much. I have always considered pets part of the family and i know she lived a happy and comfortable life. I am sure i will have tears for a while though. I am sorry about your dog. What a sad story. Pets are loved and they leave an imprint on our hearts. Very odd thing... after i left the vets the first song i heard when i got into the car was "Sheep". My daughter said, "turn that off it's scary". I caught the verse right before the part where they do their twist on Psalm 23. Made me cry listening to it. Seemed so appropriate. Sheep isn't played much on the radio either, so i took it as a sign in a way (and Sheep is one of my all time favorite songs so the meaning was immense for me). Thanks again for your kind words
  7. My cat dying in my arms. At least i won't have to feel guilt over putting her to sleep. Hanging out with my sister and two favorite (ok, two only) nephews. After a very sad day, they made me feel better. Talking to my daughter's Uncle Marcus was nice, too.
  8. Thru With The Two Step... Robert Plant
  9. My sweet cat was really tired and couldn't walk anymore. I took her to the vet to be put to sleep. As i got to the counter to check in she died in my arms. Very sad day.
  10. I always thought that Lindsey has a bit of a female sounding voice anyway. I love his singing so i'm not critisizing. Anyway, i think Lindsey could sound great doing Christie McVie's songs... and Stevie, too. I wanted to see Fleetwood Mac in Atlantic City, but with money being tight and my work schedule, doesn't look like i'm going to make it.
  11. There's No Way Out of Here... David Gilmour
  12. Let it Rain... Eric Clapton
  13. Into The Fire... Bruce Springsteen
  14. Thank you Mandy! She's hanging in there, but getting her to eat is a challenge. I'm happy i have time for a nap today!
  15. Kittens and all baby animals for that matter, are just so adorable! One thing about females i have seen over the years from having many friends with cats, females don't "spray". I have known quite a few male cats that did, and this was my number one reason for buying female cats
  16. lol, funny reason for the name. I have always found male cats to be more affectionate. Both mine are female, and Tasha especially, has always been very affectionate. My other cat is loving to those she knows well, but cautious of strangers. Nice chatting with you and i hope snowballs brings you plenty of joy!
  17. I'm sure you miss him Sounds like a really wonderful cat. Tasha likes to sit nearby you or on your lap, but neither of my cats enjoy being held. Do you have any other pets?
  18. Thank you so much for sharing your story, slave to zep. It warms my heart when people share about their wonderful pets. My cat is 15 years and 3 months old. The vet says her liver failure was from aging. My vet wanted to be more aggressive and put in a nasogastric tube and give her tube feedings, but i can't imagine the expense or putting her through that. I was thrilled to see her eat tonight. She is still happy and the vet promises she won't have any pain. I hope he is right. Tasha was always an indoor cat. She definitely had a nice life. It's just so hard to watch her being ill. I have another cat who is 9 months younger who is fine. I'm sorry about your cat. She may have very well died of natural causes. Any cat who is 15 or older is definitely "elderly" and has lived a long life!
  19. That does sound lovely. I would love a view like that, but a view of the mountains and the ocean would be my heaven. I was happy when after attempting roast turkey, roast chicken and brisket, with no success, my anorexic cat ate 1/4 can of fancy feast turkey and gravy. That and the little bit of milk she has been drinking the past couple days. Sad to watch a beloved pet dying before your eyes. I hope she will continue to eat Also happy today, while rainy, was nice and cool (mid to upper 60's). Felt nice.
  20. Thank you for the kind words, Virginia! I had to leave Tasha overnight at the vet. She was jaundiced and the vet says it's likely a fatty liver disease that is common when cats age. The vet gave her intravenous fluids and did some blood work. Now i have to feed her foods like turkey, milk and even roasted chicken skin to give her some fat. So far, she had a little turkey and some milk. No telling how long she will live since this condition won't reverse and she is over fifteen. My only other option is tube feedings, which is too aggressive at her age, imo. At least she had a great life. I can take comfort in knowing that. I hope you are feeling better and more rested. I know how much you run around with your children, in addition to work and taking care of the family.... you deserve some time for yourself too!
  21. Mr. Self Destruct... Nine Inch Nails
  22. ^ I know how you feel. My daughter has always been very emotional. If she's happy, she's ecstatic. But if she's upset, she's enough to make you want to jump out a window. I never tried to, but man..... she will be five in the fall and still has her moments. But for the most part, the tantrums have ended, thankfully. I am more sad than unhappy. My oldest cat (15) started to look a bit thinner over the past couple days and today she looks sick. I am very frightened she may be dying. I hope she will improve. I can't get her to the vet until Monday.
  23. Blue Jay Way... The Beatles
