  1. Hi Billy - most of your posts have ZERO interest to me. Any chance of making them one-on-one exchanges? Or should I use the "ignore" function that you choose to ignore?

Forget it - I know your answer. B)

    Love,

    Knebby

Stop all this flirting! You're making me blush.

btw - who said that photo of Jimmy with Bonzo's back to the camera was from 1969? Certainly not moi.

Ok, time to contribute some content of interest to everyone! Enjoy the attached. Two of my favorite people in the whole wide world.

  2. Sorry guys, it's from 76. If anyone would know,it would be the photog: http://bradelterman.tumblr.com/post/363927360/rock-god-jimmy-page-a-post-concert-party-for-the

Besides, don't let Bonham's outfit fool you. Sure, he wore the same thing in 73, but they all wore the same clothes over and over for years. In shots from Chicago 75 Page was wearing the same pink velvet pants he wore at several Zep shows in 69. Page even wore the same red shirt in Texas 75 that he wore at the second La 73 show, and which he also has on with Lori in one of those same 73 shots of Bonham and her. I guess they just didn't like buying new outfits.

Right - like photographers have never misidentified or "misdated" their shots. Ok, sure.

  3. Clarification - how do you explain Bonzo wearing the exact same outfit in the 1) photo with Jimmy with his (Bonzo's) back to the camera and 2) the photo with Lori? We know by Jimmy's clothes that they weren't taken on the same occasion.

    Better?

  4. Nah, I think this is just further proof that when he was sober, Bonzo was a kind and caring man who would look out for someone like Lori in a chivalrous way, nothing lude or provocative. Get your mind out of the gutter!

Seriously, she was friendly with the other guys in a platonic way. I'll ask Lori for some thoughts on that photo. She may even have some insight on the other one with Jimmy. Will report back ASAP.

  5. Oh Billy!

That was almost a nice reply you had going on there, thankyou for the effort, you can relax now :D, but WHY did you have to go and blow it with 'so there'?

What did I do wrong? Just trying to understand, is all

You're very sensitive. Are you a delicate flower that must be handled with care?

In this photo, Bonzo and Lori are making a grand entrance to Bonzo's 24th birthday party.

  6. Does any one know if there are other pictures of Jimmy at this 1976 Faces party?

    jimmypage_elterman.jpg

That's Bonzo with his back to the camera. He's wearing the same jacket and hat in a photo with Lori Maddox that I believe was taken in Los Angeles circa 1973.

  7. I think the boys largely gave in to Crowe's demand for music, not only because it was Crowe, but because Almost Famous is sort of semi-biographical in a way that pleases them without having to go into all the backstage, after hours nonsense that would overshadow any Zeppelin bio-pic. I see a bio-pic about them being made without Crowe over one with Crowe's involvement.

Backstage after hours nonsense? Another blowhard who doesn't get it. That "nonsense" as you put it is a HUGE part of the Zep story. No other band made their audience wait for hours so they could do mountains of blow and feast on women backstage before they were "ready" to bring the hammer of the gods. Zeppelin hosted the greatest parties ever known to man. Like Satyricon. Or Caligula. Jimmy loved that stuff, and loves their reputation for it. "We were flying the flag of hedonism!" No movie about Zep would be valid without it. It's hardly nonsense, expert.

  8. Absolutely nothing. Now change your tampon!

You're a class act, pally. I'm sure the women folk here appreciate that comment. Now run along and learn how to use PMs to address your friends, rather than clogging up the board with wastes of bandwidth.

Betcha Jimmy and Ozzy are going to be in some collage type photo on the cover of Classic Rock or MOJO.

  9. Halloween 09 in Manhattan. I had a 104 fever in this pic and was on the verge of collapsing. Somehow, I managed.

Ok, and that has WHAT to do with the topic of this thread?

Jason's been nursing at the Zeppelin teat long enough. Time to move on and stop riding his Dad's coattails. Hmmm...riding on coattails...where have I read that before?

  10. now stop stalking my posts trying to cause trouble, it's getting really tiresome.

Oh come on. Don't make me sound so sinister. Geez, what am I, Otto? He's the one who's always trying to rile you up, not me.

I bet if someone they respect - like a Cameron Crowe - came to the boys with a great script and some talented actors to play them, they'd warm to the idea. They've changed their minds before.

  11. Ross adds his perspective:

"Jason Bonham is doing a Led Zeppelin Tribute Tour of Canada and America, which just shows you what a greedy "Breadhead" Jason really is. I'm sure his father's turning in his grave. Apparently Jason is now called Bonzo Junior - vomit. He has no shame..."

  12. Pretty much zero chance, as they will never agree to their music being used, and what is a movie about them without them on the soundtrack?

    School of Rock?

    Almost Famous?

    Ricky Gervais' upcoming new one?

You make it sound like they've never agreed to allow their music to be used in movies. Quite a bit of evidence to the contrary, counselor.

  13. The Black Country album is essentially complete. Management issues have stalled further progress of the group

but guitarist Joe Bonamassa believes the issues will be resolved and more activity will follow. Jason Bonham's

Led Zeppelin Experience is of course a completely separate project.

There's that "management issues" crap again. Managers don't do anything their client doesn't want them to do. They are paid handsomely to be the "bad cop" in any dealings related to MONEY.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, kids, but one or more of the musicians in Black Country is unhappy with the financial arrangements being discussed and has cried to his manager about it. End of story. Until this unhappy party or parties feels they are being treated fairly when it comes to the MONEY involved, expect no progress on this front.

  14. Pure Blues was published by Claudia Chapman of Wolcottville, IN; there are a total of nine issues:

    Jan/Feb '79

    Mar/Apr '79

    May/Jun '79

    Jul/Aug '79

    Sep/Oct '79

    Nov/Dec '79

    Jan/Feb '80

    Mar/Apr '80

    May/Jun '80

If interested I could have a full set of reproduction copies made for you, as I only have one original copy of them all.

Claudia Chapman! Ah, memories. I met Claudia at a record fair in NYC at the Hotel Diplomat. It must have been the early 1980s. I showed her my newly purchased Destroyer Box Set and The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page live at The Anderson Theater. Both vinyl, natch. Very nice gal, wore glasses. Wonder where she is today?

  15. Greetings inhabitants of Planet Zeptune,

I'm seeking copies of the Zep fanzine Pure Blues. It was published in the 80s and edited by a lovely gal operating out of Chicago. If you can help me out, or point me in the right direction, please contact me via PM here. Many thanks in advance.

    Love,

    Billy
