Thanks..any clues are most welcome :-)
According to Chris Welch in his book 'Power & Glory' Robert completed three tours of England with BoJ in 1967, however I have only been able to confirm two dates (using quotes from a Robert Plant interview published in the Oct 23, 2005 Sunday Mail as a reference source):
Ayr Ice Rink in Ayr (1967)
YMCA in Kirkaldy (1967)
Edited to add: I have Harry Barber's Band of Joy book...if I can dig it out it may reveal additional details or possible leads.
Ayr Ice Rink 4th October 1967 admission 4 shillings

He only performed publicly eleven times in four years ('89 - '92) and this is the longest among them. The recording became a must have.
Interesting fact Steve. You have them listed by any chance?
-
I have those tracks as well. You've raised some interesting points concerning Judas Touch. I'll attempt to get some confirmation.
Songs that were stolen were all full songs, many with vocals
-
Remember reading that interview and thanks for posting, was 84/85 though
-
Copies of some of the stolen tapes were made for Jimmy by a collecter in May 1999 at his request.
-
As I understand it the stealing went on for a period of time. He was often away touring in '85-'86 before marrying in December 1986, the same month MTV announced he'd begun work on his first solo album. The stealing may have culminated with the theft of some material intended for the Outrider album, (as Jimmy has often claimed), and that material was likely recorded in 1985 or early 1986. I do believe most if not all of what was stolen was taken from Old Mill House (purchased in 1980).
According to Sandra Oattes, his housekeeper from circa 1977-1989, Tower House (purchased in 1973) became Jimmy's primary residence once again for the year 1987.
Nicked over a period of 18 months i would say. All stolen from Windsor. Guilty party claims Charlotte Martin gave them the tapes, not true of course.
-
Charlotte had moved out of Jimmy's by late 82 or early 83, I have heard that Jimmy's house was broken in to around 80 or 81 and there was lots of footage and audio taken. is this the same incident you all are talking about?
She was still at Windsor in 1985 and it was no break in.
-
I know this is somewhat off topic but he seemed to make a habit of inviting fans into his home at this point in his life. Wasn't this the same time period that some of the Zeppelin soundboards were stolen? I am not saying his fans stole them but they were strangers to him and if someone in the know had access to them, they also had motive.
The soundboards and video material were taken by a fan who befriended Charlotte Martin ( Jimmy's partner at the time) and this was in 84 and 85.

I will attempt to confirm this week as I have the original fanzine in which it appeared.
The snooker/pool one came from Steve Jones the Manchester one around 1982

Inquiry email to Dave Lewis of Tight But Loose dated February 19, 2011:
Hello Dave,
Yet another photo of you has surfaced on the official Led Zeppelin site. There's been some discussion of it in the forum. I wanted to inquire directly if you could confirm what button Robert is wearing and if you were the one who gave it to him? Also, if you could confirm the photo was taken at Heathrow, if the others were present and the date. Many thanks, Dave! Steve A. Jones
Reply email dated February 19, 2011:
Steve
This photo was taken at Heathrow Airport on the afternoon of Tuesday May 17th 1977. They were flying out for the second leg of the tour which resumed the next day in Birmingham Alabama. All of the band were there - Jimmy arrived wearing a white suit in a range rover with his driver Rick Hobbs. Bonzo, Robert and JPJ arrived in a limo. Richard Cole was also there.
I had been at the Swan Song office earlier - I was asked to go out and buy copies of the Evening Standard which had an apology for a story they ran of a case of mistaken identity concerning someone who had claimed to be Robert Plant in Atlanta and had been arrested for drunkenness and carrying a knife - these were being sent to Peter Grant. Unity at Swan Song gave me various 10x 8 prints of the band to get signed.
Robert was wearing a badge with a picture of the Queen on it (this was her Silver Jubilee year) and a silver pendant badge of a viking ship. He also wore the Queen badge at the Ivor Novello Awards a few days earlier. JPJ had as you can see wore a union jack zipper jacket and a Song Remains The Same t shirt.
I got there around 4pm - there was a Welsh fan named Russ Rees also there with a couple of his friends - he took the pic. I was lucky enough to spend nearly two hours chatting as they waited for their flight call at 6pm. They signed various photos which I am holding. A very memorable day.
If you can spread the TBL message on the forum I'd be most grateful - TBL 28 can be ordered via this link on the TBL site:

Best Regards
Dave
Thanks for that. Something did trigger me on the Queen thing.
-
You both sound convinced it's the Queen; given it was the Silver Jubilee that makes sense to me. Will see if Dave confirms.
Just a thought Steve, I may be well off the mark.
-
I'm 99% certain it's a "home made" button of a photo of Jimmy Page in a suit with his hands beneath his chin that was published in a magazine in 1976. It was probably made (and presented or borrowed as a gag for this photo) by Dave
Lewis, who is pictured on the far right. The photo looks to be 1977 at an airport (probably Heathrow). Dave may confirm
over the weekend.
Could be a picture of the Queen as it was the Silver Jubilee in 1977. Just a thought

Surely a major factor is you refuse to deny it either - which would end all such speculative posts.
And I stand by what I said - having photos taken at someone's grave is treating it as a tourist site, and you HAVE claimed to be the figure in your avavtar - and post Jimmy's addresses etc as your location. I'm afraid you can't then blame ME for pointing this out.
Go figure.
*i prefer the fanzines to the books *
Come on Steve a simple yes or no, you can do it.
-
so.....are you saying steve is lying? you seem to be certainly insinuating something.
i will say this: this is my favorite thread on this damn forum and sometimes the only reason i log on. many, many people have cast stones or or darker aspersions without anything to back it up. steve hasn't claimed BFF status or entourage membership. it sounds to me like he stated a fact and the manner in which he stated it caused your vomit of sour grapes.
contribute or piss off.
hope this helps!

Vomit of sour grapes , me Nawwwwwwwwwww.

So Steve's a stalker?
j/k Steve....you the man with the info
Never said he was a stalker but i think you will find i am correct in saying SAJ does not know Jimmy Page on that personal level.
-
Later that evening I explained to Jimmy the miraculous renovations in progress and conveyed David's open invitation to visit. Jimmy was surprised to hear of my interest in that property, and I sensed wistfulness in his comments, as he and Peter had originally purchased the estate in the early 70s with a view towards converting it into a recording site they could share comfortably with their growing families (a similar example would be Rockfield Studios in Wales). However, the degree of neglect, among other more pressing
considerations, led them to sell the property a few years later.
Well from this statement, I take it Steve has met Jimmy and it sound more personal than an average fan speaking to him.
Big difference from knowing him personally and talking with him through a gate.
-
Do you personally know Jimmy?
I think that will be a NO.
-
Eh? No he wasn't - they'd just arrived at New Orleans after another show. They were all at the hotel when Robert got the news.
Correct Knebby.
-
What about this one WW?
Used to have that on cd Knebby, saw an interview with Simon Cowell the other day and he was talking about that song.
