  1. Catch the Foo Fighters live from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City

on Tuesday April 12th at 9pm ET / 6pm PT.

    http://www.cbs.com/late_night/liveonletterman/foo_fighters/video/

Just got done watching it live and they are now replaying it. It was great! They sounded so good! I hope it shows up on a torrent site so I have it to watch again and again and again.....The Foos are one of only a few bands that around today that sound great live.

I have been listening to the new album for about a week now and it is great. It's one of their best albums and really rocks out. The doc movie Back and Forth was very interesting. I missed a few parts cause I fell asleep and tried to watch it again on Sat. night at Midnight and still didn't get to see it all. It will be out on dvd in June sold through Best Buy.

I'm hoping to see them live this summer if they are near me within three hour drive or so.

  2. Tonight on VH1 at 9pm Cental Time they are showing the Foo Fighters movie Back and Forth on their Rock Docs series. You can also see them on SNL tommorrow night, 4/9/11. I have listened to their new album a few times now this week and I like it. If you missed it, you can listen for free here:

not for sure how long the link will work and you will be able to listen for free.

  3. They are awesome......

What do you guys think of the Foos?

I have all the Foo's cd's. I love them. Dave doesn't take himself too serious. I love him in Them Crooked Vultures. I never have seen the Foos in concert but would love too.

I have their live feed they did about a year ago off the internet on my iPod too. It's the one where they just jammed for a couple hours in their studio. Dave was so funny as usual!

  4. I saw it. They were great!

At the end of the show they were talking on camera and they were saying that they were only paid $10 or $20 for their first gig, and then were not paid at all for their second gig. They thought that this kind of payment was great at the time because their living expenses in Akron, Ohio were so cheap that they felt like they were doing all right.

Edited to say: The drummer was really wailing on the drums! He kept breaking his drumsticks. He really can make a lot of sound on those drums. And it is awesome the full bodied sound that the guitarist gets out of his guitar! No need for more than the two band members. But they really sounded fantastic playing with a full band.

They were great. It was cool how it was just of them playing on some songs and then some supporting players for other songs. It is amazing that much sound comes from just a guitar and drums when it's just them two.

I saw the end too when they talked to the camera. They sound like down to earth guys.

Over the weekend I saw a Cadillac commercial with their song "Next Girl" playing in the background. I love that song!

  5. In the last few months I have been listening to The Black Keys alot. I was able to download all their albums from torrents and really like them alot. They were on SNL this past Sat. night and on David Letterman Mon night but I missed viewing them via tv but did find their performances online. I know they were in Chicago New Years Eve at the Aaragon but I won't go see groups at that venue. Hard to get to, crappy parking, hot as He** inside during a Chicago winter and the sound sucks too. Hoping they come to St. Louis or Indy sometime in the future. Any other Black Keys fans on here?

  6. James Dylan

    Lead Vocals

    Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

I wonder if the other members of JBLZE are from the Virtual Zeppelin group off youtube? He sounds amazing! Can't wait to see other videos up on youtube of the first gig.

hmmmm, now I should really go to the Merrillville, IN show...not for sure if I can get off work since it is on a Thursday and a 3 hour drive to Merrillville one way....would need to take two days off work.....

  7. oh and does anyone know who the other members are that are playing with Jason?

Nope! He isn't telling either from what I have read. I was going to wait to buy tickets for the Indiana show after I found out who all was in the band. Either it will leak out or we will have to wait till after the first gig I guess to find out!

  8. Hmmm, according to the most recent "Lemon Squeezings" e newsletter, Jason will not be telling who all is in the band before the first show of the JBLZE! I was kinda waiting to see who all would be playing with him before buying my tickets for the Merrillville, IN show.

    http://www.ledzeppelinnews.com/2010/08/30-some-tour-dates-announced-for-jason.html

There is some information about the shows and dates that have been listed but now aren't listed. From what I read, all will be sorted out by this Thursday as to what dates and towns he will be hitting.

  9. I saw Jason Bonham a couple of nights ago on the late night FOX news channel show "Red Eye". His brief interview was about 5 or so minutes long. He said that he was doing 30 shows in 30 days. The number 30 being very significant because 2010 marks the 30th anniversary of the death of his Father (RIP JOHN HENRY 'BONZO' BONHAM). The host asked him who else was playing in what Jason Bonham called the "Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience" (jblze.com). He said that he was not revealing names yet and that he was keeping it close to his vest (cheast?).

Tickets still available for the IN show so I am waiting a bit before buying them, want to know who else is playing with him in the band.

  10. The new album is tremendous. The "Wiser Time"/"Cold Boy Smile" medley is worth the price of the album alone. Target has it on sale now for 7.99..........

It'll be a sad day when this tour ends. Nobody plays like this. Sure there are "jam bands" but vocally they all suck.

    Long live the Crowes.

It is a great album! There isn't one song I skip over and I have been listening to it the last week or so. I grabbed the last copy of it at Best Buy last Wed. when they had it on sale for $7.99 a great price for a 2 disc cd!

  11. I just checked the Ticketmaster website and so far Merrillville, IN is the only date listed. Tickets go on sale Saturday for public, but there is an internet presale that starts tomorrow. Not sure what credentials you must have to take part in the presale. Whether it's an Amex card holder and so on. Tickets are $48-$58. Looking forward to some shows in the NYC area.

Anyone know who will be playing with Jason?

The pre-sale code was emailed out members of the online club of the radio station that is sponsoring the show. I joined their online club on Tuesday just for the presale code and didn't get the email that was supposed to have been sent out Wed. I did email the radio station this morning and got a reply. They sent me the email with the presale code in it. Presale starts today, 8/6/10 at Noon Central Time and runs till 11:00am Sat. Central Time 8/7/10. If anyone wants the presale code PM me.

  12. No problems, you can catch them on the Tonight Show tonight (Aug. 3rd),

also Wednesday (4th) on Jimmy Kimmel

Crap! I got on the phone last night and forgot all about them being on the Tonight Show and when I realized it they were just ending the show! :(

Oh well, I will go to youtube and find it there I am sure.

Gotta remember to watch them tonight on Kimmel!

Tix still available at the St. Louis gig so I am hoping to snag some and go see them on 8/27!

  13. I am gonna be buying this! :):) I have been listening to it all afternoon here at work. After listening to their acoustic versions of their songs on this new album/cd, I must go see them! I hope I didn't wait too long and tix are all gone.

  14. No problems, you can catch them on the Tonight Show tonight (Aug. 3rd),

also Wednesday (4th) on Jimmy Kimmel

Thanks so much, I didn't know they were going to be on tv. I will be tuning into to watch them tonight and Wed.

    Thanks!

    :D

  15. i'm inclined to suggest keith shadwick's book (i've forgotten the title) as a good general introduction

I have read alot of Zep books and I feel Shadwick's book, "Led Zeppelin 1968-1980" is about one of the best. I bought Mick Wall's book when it first came out and it is interesting but the parts of the book in quotations that drive me nuts, I ended up skipping those parts of the book! I have heard Ritchie Yorke's book "Led Zeppelin: The Definitive Biography" is also good but I have never read it since it is out of print and I haven't been able to find a copy of it.

I just bought Ross Halfin's The Photographer's Led Zeppelin off ebay and received it this past week! :D I have been wanting that book for a while now but couldn't locate it locally or even win bids on it on ebay. So happy I now have it and it sits next to Live Dreams book by Laurence Ratner!

  16. There are very few Firm concerts circulating on video. One reason could be camcorders were still quite bulky at the time, making concealment more difficult. I know for a fact one of the concerts in circulation was filmed from

a private suite at the venue, rather ingenious I admit. I'll see if there are any audio recordings from this gig.

Ahh, yes. I forget how bulky and big camcorders used to be. Thanks for checking to see if there is any audio from this gig!
