  1. OMG yummmmmmmmmmmmmm aawww I really miss those cinnabons. Wish I could buy them here
  2. I've never seen or even heard of anything like that. I'm guessing it would work like a hot cast iron pan and cook steaks beautifully. I think you said it may have originated in Australia, if it did, it's not that well known or overly popular, except for maybe a few specialised restaurants. There's lots of things that are supposedly Australian. The great Aussie myth of our love of Fosters beer for one. We don't like or want Fosters, which is why we get rid of it to all you guys .... haha I think we've probably sidetracked this thread's topic, so what makes me happy ...... dumping Fosters on the Poms
  3. Major, I wasn't sure what you meant by "on the rock" cooking, but I looked it up and I think you mean what we call pit oven cooking. Which is where a hole is dug in the ground, a fire lit and rocks placed over heat. Then a kind of lid, made of sticks etc is placed over until the rocks become very hot. The lid is removed and meat is placed on the hot rocks and then covered again with hot rocks and the bush/shrubbery lid. But in answer to your question, no, I have only seen it done, but never eaten meat cooked in a bush rock pit oven. I've heard of whole pigs being cooked this way though (takes a long time) and the meat is supposed to have a deep smoky flavour and is very tender. Found this Youtube clip about it. You only need watch the first minute or so to get the idea. ! And if anyone has a squirmy tum, don't read any further ..... I saw skinned cats strung up in the markets of Singapore for sale, but I never saw them being cooked, just the sliced meat presented on my plate. What you described with the Asian market cats is just outright horrific. aarrgghhhh I don't even want to think about that unbelievably cruel and torturous act.
  4. As Major and I were discussing, some meat/proteins are very tasty, whereas others are not so nice and quite gag worthy. As for your culinary offering beetleron ....... hhhmmmmm Spit ....... or ......... swallow??
  5. I've eaten snake, emu and kangaroo and didn't care for any of them. I agree with your opinion on roo meat, it's very gamey and I found it quite a tough meat, but that may have been the way it was cooked. I ate crocodile quite a few times when I was up in the tropicial north of Australia and I loved it too. I agree with your description ...... a beautiful tender, soft textured, juicy, fishy chicken taste. I'm also ashamed to say i've eaten both dog and cat. I wasn't aware of it at the time, but Singapore threw it on my plate. I found dog to be a tough version of beef and cat was similar to an old chicken. ok, now i'll head over to the Vegan thread ......
  6. Well look what the dog dragged in ^^^^ I see nothing has changed You play nicely now
  7. oh ..... and good luck with the diarrhea

  11. uummmmm Oh dear God!!!!! ............. I'm speechless !!!!! "twenty two AC/DC classic rockers arranged for ukulele" :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
  12. Same here. After 5 solid days of rain I actually had a few hours reprieve this afternoon. Course it's predicted to be back with a vengence tomorrow morning. The whole summer went missing this year.
  13. Sounds like sciatic nerve pain, which is originated/based from your lower spine problems. The sciatic nerve runs from your lower spine (L3/L4 etc), down over your outer hips and all the way down to your feet. See your doctor/specialist again ..... Low dose Prednisolne (Steriod) and Panadol Osteo. Heat packs also work wonders (wheat ones heated in the microwave)
  14. Wow, you are so close to me. I live half an hour further south of Batemans Bay. Which also answers your question slave to zep. I'm on the far south coast of NSW and i've been on the forum here for many years, plus a previous lurking life under another name which I can't remember. I just don't post much, or what I do seems to disappear in controversial threads.
