  1. Fate of Nations is an astonishingly brilliant album. I dare say a masterpiece. The lyrical content is compelling, earthy, organic, and evocative while the overall production is flawless. If it were released tomorrow you'd never know it was recorded nearly 20 years ago. 5 stars!

yep, it is brilliant. After FON it took him almost ten years to come up with another soo effort, this time in SS incarnation.

Except that I still keep on guessing if he gave "29 palms" out as a gift to his Alannah lady-friend or borrowed it from her  not that I am terribly puzzled, just guessing :P

  2. Them Crooked Vultures

Their new website (http://themcrookedvultures.com) states "Deserve The Future" but this promotional poster states "Never Deserved The Future". Hmm....was the working title for the album changed? Are their webmasters and publicity guys not on the same page?

    ThemCrookedVulturesPoster.jpg

As a wild guess, perhaps it's a part of their name, so the full name of the Group (or the Project?) is "Them Crooked Vultures Never Deserved the Future". It is interesting, I second that.
  3. Serbia will finally be on White Schengen list (probably September) so I will be able to travel!!!! FINALLY!!! These are the best news in past 10-15 years! :hurrah: :hurrah:

No more visas and waiting and those fuc*ing old passports!

Congratulations on that, _Lena_Zep! I know what you mean :yesnod: I think if we were where your country is now, I'd go to Knebworth in August. :D

  4. Jimmy and Robert's rendition of "Calling to You" in "Live at the Shark Tank" recorded in San Jose, Ca, May 20, 1995 (I have the CD right in front of me, that's why I sound so informed ;) ) Jimmy's presence on this track was all that was needed from the beginning, though the original version was great, too bad they could not take Nigel Kennedy with them to the Shark Tank. Well, one can't have everything :whistling:

Hmm, Eternal Light, I think I saw this VERY photo yesterday but slightly different angle on another site. It was captioned "Off to Summon Virgins to be Sacrificed Into Mordor"

Whoever made that stuff has undeniable sense of humour :cheer:;)

  6. Nice photoes of JPJ, just wonderful. I also love the way he looks recently with a short haircut. And I am going to close this Internet page right now, as current hot weather and looking at all kind sof pics here seem to impair my IQ and typing speed, :D

  7. Let's just keep that a secret between you and me.

    Robert-Plant.jpg

Lovely photoes  , all of them, Eternal! (suddenly remembering...)Hey, I've got a work to do to make my living! .....(another look at the thread...) no chance! :D

    ;)

  8. According to her own site, Gabriella Cilmi was

Influenced by mercurial Led Zeppelin founder Robert Plant, she co–wrote most of the material in the mansion formerly owned by Alice In Wonderland author Lewis Carroll.
I remember we discussed her covering WLL on this forum. I am not a huge fun of Ms Cilmi, but, since we talk about The Famous ;) ....
  9. Ohhhh, see what I've found.

(Anyway I think it's better to credit the photographer, so I'll only post the link)

    Womad festival

    Oh such nice photoes.

those comments in some strange language below... what was their meaning, I wonder

  10. Interestingly enough, Atlantic did something similar the year before with Page/Plant's 'Walking Into Clarksdale' album, having changed it's original title prior to release from 'Most High' but keeping the original "angelic theme" album graphics.

irrelevant to the thread, but i'd mention that bit of info explains to me the angels on the cover. Thanks so much for the insight, Steve! :-)

  11. That girl isnt Indian, look at the picture where she's ontop of Bonzo's shoulders(Im too lazy to find the pic)..she doesnt look Indian to me.. Wait nevermind it might be a different woman..hmm

:D I'm not sure we are talking about the same girl ....Anyway, it's not Maureen, confirmed by Knebby, so it does not matter really.

  12. I had to look up muddled too and it appears it's mashing up the ingredients. Hmmmm....

    <_<

well, I've been thinking... in fact, it sounds like a drink with a texture that reminds Marguerita drinks (spell?..) May be. :toast:

  13. I think some people put cucumber in Pimms, though I stick to fruit myself.

However, I'm still baffled by it being muddled. :D

well, unlike me you may just go there and try it yourself :D "Muddled" - exactly me feelings, looked in all the vocabularies available, still I'm puzzled. Squashed, perhaps? (hm, that does not sound appetizing either!)

What a wonderful selection of pictures! Thank you! I just read this somewhere else, and it sort of related to these pics:

The bar at the Andaz West Hollywood Hotel has a drink named for Robert Plant. Dubbed “The Mr. Plant”, the cocktail is made from No. 209 Hendricks gin, tangerine juice, agave syrup, soda and muddled cucumber slices
    :DManicnirvana

And what a nice sig! I seem to admire most people's sigs today. I guess it's the one you were working on laterly, is it?

  15. I've noticed that, in the two pictures with Ronnie, they're identical. In one you can can clearly see smoke coming from his nose/mouth, in the other you can't. I wonder whether one was altered to 'disappear' the smoke, and the other kept natural?

too bad for me that I read these long threads from the end (especially this long), when I read your post I thought it was Ronny James Dio! :D

  16. All (except possibly the last one) are already on this site. The dancer appeared at Oakland. You can see Zepp entourage member Rex King applauding behind them.

Richard Cole posted the second pic in his "Stairway To Heaven" book and wrongly-labelled it as Robert and Maureen. Really adds to his crediblity.

possibly, Knebby, but it's an ocean of photoes out there on 140 something pages, to remain sane I just look at those posted lately :D

I first thought it was Maureen, then I thought no, but the girl at the pic seems to be of an Indian origin, that mislead us I guess.

  17. :o That's it!!

    THE PIC I'VE BEEN NEEDING!

I'm making a multi portrait..And I needed one for the top left corner!

    Thank you thank you!

    I've been searching for hours..

    Nothing looked just right..

    *Sigh of relief*

    :D

... that sounds like an interesting multiportrait... can we have one quick look at it?
