  1. No doubt the result of hard partying. Bonham was particularly bored on days with no show to play - he likely was having fits with all the free time. Thanks Steve.
  2. So we know why Bonham struggled in Nuremberg in 1980, having partied with the band for a large part of the day at a club in Roth. Do we know why he struggled so in San Diego on June 19, 1977? They had not played in five days and I believe they previously had their family with them in New York. Did Bonham and/or the band travel back to the U.K. during the brief lull? After the ability to party hard for four days did Bonzo choose to overdo it during the afternoon prior to the evening's show? Plant makes mention of three members with issues during the show, citing himself and Jones specifically. In fact he is relentless in his teasing of Jonesy. Not once does he note Bonzo's obvious issues...
  3. Would you be willing to post a few of your favorites Knebby or direct me to where I can find some of your pictures. I will also check the main site as well. Many thanks
  4. Does anyone have a Hi-Res or color photo of the three remaining members taken in Dec '81 at an awards ceremony, which was held at maybe the Golden Lion?
  5. I was just wondering why they changed hotels from Royal Orleans when staying in New Orleans on the 2nd and 3rd legs.
  6. Would anyone know the date that the picture of Bonham in the lower left hand corner was taken? http://www.zeppelinart.com/viewimage.asp?main/1980/1980-06-23 bremen/bremen (tarantura 2000)/bremen80_i.jpg
  7. I believe he is playing "Tangerine" but am only moderately confident on that
  8. Thanks Steve. I wonder why that choose to forgo Royal Orleans the second and third times around?
  9. Would it be possible to list the cities that served as "home base" during the 1977 tours, and the dates (time period) in which they stayed in the respective hotels? I believe the cities were New York, LA, Dallas, Chicago and Seattle? Perhaps not...
  10. Might anyone be able to lend a hand? I'll do my best to repay the favor.
  11. In Dave's "Feather in the Wind", on page 206 it is mentioned there is a terrific shot of Plant in the bar after the show. The pic is in Rock And Folk magazine August 1980. Does anyone have this photo and perhaps scans of the article? Many thanks in advance.
  12. The ultimate last 30 seconds of ALS. The greatest show from the first leg - I'm telling you Sue it's better than Pontiac!
  13. I am not surprised that tickets never went on sale as the lack of demand in Berlin for a second night would have been very surprising. Perhaps their travel schedules worked better to return to London on July 8th - still the cancellation causes a suspicion of apathy on the band's part to creep in. I think a show in Paris would have been fantastic, and the group would likely have put in a good performance. It was off the beaten path for the '80 trek but may have featured some unique aspects to the concert. We'll never know... I assume the Shepperton Firm Studios is the same building that housed the 2007 rehearsals. Are all the well known pictures from the spring '80 rehearsals taken in the New Victoria Theatre or are their confirmed photos from Shepperton I wonder?
  14. So I'll throw in a "mystery" (perhaps to Zep fans) - how could a Zeppelin concert be cancelled due to poor ticket sales? Specifically I am referring to 1980-07-08 Berlin. I know this tour was largely under the radar and advertising was minimal (on purpose), but seemingly the population of West Berlin was enough and further housed a large troop of American infantrymen that the mighty Zep could sell out two shows. They did two in Mannheim. Was the final show on July 7th a sellout? Was the band too tired to do another gig? What about the proposed show in Paris? When was it officially cancelled?
  15. I find the above picture to be around the last time where Jimmy still looked like he did during Zeppelin. In 1984 he kicked heroin, speculated with the help of a blood transfusion, and cut his hair so short he looked like a Beatle from 1964.
  16. Does anyone know the offical date this photo was taken? Thanks
  17. I believe there are photos of Jimmy taken about one week before the final rehearsal. I have contacted the owner of the pictures however he has declined to provide any at this time. I completely respect the owner and his decision. Who knows, maybe we will see them in the future one day.
  18. Thank you for the info. Must be between July 4th and July 7th since Bonzo is sans beard. Hoping you can locate the photo of Bonham taken in Sept 80. Many thanks in advance.
  19. In the continuing quest for 1980 photos of the band members taken after 07/07/80, might anyone know the story of this photo of Jonesy and Bonzo, which I believe is the last picture of them together: http://fuckyeahzeppelin.tumblr.com/image/26579111930
  20. Wonderful, thank you Steve. I find this little known final period of Zeppelin absolutely fascinating. Looking forward to the Bonzo pic as well. Many thanks.
  21. Great shot of Robert in September '80. I think it would be fantastic to see the shot of Bonzo that Jason was showing - any idea on how we could see it? Thank you for lending your knowledge to my question, I hope I can return the favor in the future.
  22. Are their any pictures of any of the members between 1980/07/07 and 1980/09/25? I've never seen any pictures credited to be of the band after Berlin and before Bonzo's passing.
  23. Why am I the only one who thinks "Eddie"? The interaction between Plant and Bonham's drums, the passion - it means nothing? I respect other people's opinions, but how the hell is the O2 version better than 06/21?!
