According to some, yes, there are! As a kid or teen, back in the '60s/'70s, I read in some women's mag that ladies over age 25 must wear their hair above shoulder length. I thought, WTH? Why?! Now I'm nearly twice that age and my mane is still waist-length. Take that, Ladies Home Journal or whatever it was As for Robert, more power to him (and to Jimmy with his Beijing ponytail). In fact, I was thinking his curls are looking especially fine in these GQ shots!
  3. But I hope we can all agree that Led Zeppelin — Led Zeppelin — doesn't need that kind of "help."
  4. Thanks for fixing. In that case, you'll probably want to check out these threads: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com//index.php?showtopic=7715 http://forums.ledzeppelin.com//index.php?showtopic=7783
  5. If you mean this story, it was published in November 2007 (see top of that page for dateline).
  6. What Dandu said. Virtually every essential word of it.
  7. I suggest listening to Jason's interview (link originally supplied by MissHoneydripper in another thread) and rereading the NME story. Then see what you think. IMO, there's a pretty strong spin in the NME story. They're wrapping some of Jason's quotes around preconceptions of their own, rather than reporting on what he actually said ... and didn't say. That's not to say I'm not crossing my fingers — hoping against hope? — for the possibility of some full-blown Zep activity down the road
  8. Stupid question, I'm sure, but can anyone give me a sense of when in today's Olympics broadcast Jimmy performs? The program just started about 30 minutes ago in the U.S. Eastern time zone, and they're playing basketball right now ... Will the hand-off be near the end of the program, in the middle, or what? With my luck, I'm afraid I'll be out walking the dog when Jimmy comes on
  9. Hmmm. Thanks for the heads-up. I just set up a "jason bonham" Google Alert to watch and see what comes of this ...
  10. I remember Korvettes too. Anyone remember Gertz? I was nearly trampled at a Gertz on Long Island to get Zep tickets in '75 (there was a Ticketron outlet inside Gertz). When they opened the store to let us in, the crowd stampeded, ripping one of those heavy doors off its hinges. I finally regained my footing only to find I didn't even need it — I was wedged so tightly into the crowd that my feet didn't touch the ground until we reached the escalator, halfway across the first floor Enjoy your vinyl, folks — white, black, blushed, blemished, zebra-striped, or otherwise.
  11. From the Ramble On Zep site, here are a couple of Plantations from my one and only Zep concert (Feb. 14, 1975, Uniondale, NY): "This track features the impeccable, one of the world's best dressed men who didn't make Women's Wear Daily, but there's still time. John Paul Jones and 'No Quarter.' " "We'd like to thank you for all the, we'd like to thank you for all the underwear. This is the day I need a bra ..." My memory of that night has faded in a lot of spots over the decades, so I could never imagine why I've always associated this mind-blowing show with — of all things — undies.
  12. I'd rather see Robert with Zep again than on his own. There, I've said it More to the point, I just really hope to see Zep again — the band for which in '75 I was literally trampled underfoot in the mad rush to get tickets, and the band whose music feels as fresh and meaningful to me now as it did in '72. Will it happen? Call me a fool, but I believe that's still a question mark. Do I want it to happen at any cost? No way. If everybody's heart is in it — Robert's, and Jimmy's, and John Paul's, and Jason's — then BRING IT ON. I feel certain it wouldn't "fail" in any respect — far from i
