IT'S ME REPORTING BACK posted by IrishWarCry (today) in response to my query: well those aren't EXACTLY my words i've been reading hammer of the gods which is about them really good book! andd just bits and pieces i've heard about them going on tour. i honestly can't remember where i heard it if you get any solid facts tell me please:) All of you were right as usual and who would know better than you guys! really!
  8. I was what if Robert re-joined the band but he renamed it. why would he do such a heretical thing?! well for example, what if the new name was just "LED" ? LED is the new Led Zep and an honorable self-tribute to the band Led Zeppelin's past. "Zeppelin" could be now in the background for the age and time it represented. "L.E.D.", a light-emitting diode as you know, and we could say LZ are luminaries, having achieved eminence, and who are an inspiration. Luminary also mean VIP, lion, and superstar. 9. here's another rumour... I just saw this on youtube under Led Zeppelin Earls Court Tangerine. by IrishWarCry (1 week ago) "Led Zeppelin is going on tour this summer I'm so excited!!!! but no robert p i don't know who they're gonna get who can scream and moan like a guitar... so sad" I'm following up with Irish, trying to get the source of this this news or a website. I'll report back asap. p.s. I think it's really clever how he says "...who can scream and moan like a guitar"... I hadn't thought of it like that before, but it seems to fit! gee, now I'm going to have to listen to EVERy Led Zep song again and again just to hear if he does indeed scream and moan like a guitar... well I'd better get a start on! I'm gonna love this! and would 'they' really look for someone who can do this, a young newcomer perhaps; or stick with the tried and true bunch?
  10. ♫ Freedom (Cosmic Child) ©2009 Diane H. ARR My mind is out here in the wild, afloat intended cosmic child, but not knowing and unsure, scared moments I'm not anchored, body mind and soul metaphored, I'm not prepared for what's in store. To assert my independence, once required my attendance, material dependence, now I have made my decree, sword of light won my spirit free, but between fulsome and empty. My mind says 'now let yourself go', I surrender to 'let it flow', my heartfelt is yearning so, for the promise that takes hold, breathless that claims my oversoul, phasing in and out of self-control. Freedom is insecurity, wandering in obscurity, so, in seeking the safety, I distanced from the freeity, there’s nothing to hold on to me, wond’ring if I’d made the right plea. I fly to your polarity, could I bother momentar'ly, to get my bearings clearly where one must go fearlessly, I might find if you stand by me, the freedom I hold so dearly. Pass by you in the zero zone, you, my polarity lodestone, grasp emotional undertone, can't achieve oneness alone, come to music improv Freedome, where bohemian sets the tone, in time we'll take off on our own. note: "freedome.co.uk" are events in Glastonbury and Somerset Freedome is a bohemian jamming space for musical improvisatio, talent not required! (that's me!... well maybe I could play the tambourine! )
  11. everyone's lyrics are really good, they move me. you can feel it! I just wanted to say that the lyrics I post here on the LZ Forum were, at one time or another, at some point or another in them, inspired by Led Zep so it's ok that they kinda belong here. thanks. On Whispering Winds ©2009 Diane H. ARR They warn me love can be excessive, that it's not love if it possesses, wearing down slippery defenses, you awaken my visceral senses. Swirl in and out of my destiny, the muse falls into the euphony, I float endlessly in harmony, revolving, evolving cosmogony. The stars dazzle the wave of the night, it seems the moon has had such a fright, the fanfare courts the sun at daylight, sky disc worshipers hide their eyes from light. A band of root nexus unfastens, placed with ornamental enchasen, those ardurous hasten to listen, but the surrendered ones are unshaken. I once trembled in musical score, then travelled up through grayness and more, joyful Spring my Soul's love at the core, reticent, teacher took not to explore. I've been the Fool's Leap in the Tarot, birth and rebirth the Runes Berkano, I'm not your queen, your not my king, it's true, but the essence of their love will come through. Take me there, in your capacity, conscious heart True Self's veracity, realms on whispering winds velocity slow. I await your sound sagacity.
  12. thanks for the heads up on Mr. Jamison; I'm going to have a look see at him I have relatives in Kingston who are opinionated as well. Quebec's political party, Bloc Quebecois (the separatists), who want to separate Quebec from Canada, want to join with the Liberals and NDPs to form a coalition to outvote the Conservatives. but we don't want a separatist party to have such power... isn't this tantamount to treason! how can we let a separatist party hold government seats? the Canadian Government (who is us) is funding part of Quebec. Because we have a constitutional monarchy... (the Queen is head of state)... the political parties are allowed to do this. I vote for a republic and democratically voted leaders! Canada is not all bad though. sometimes this type of arrangement is efficacious. I'm sorry to hear that. it's shameful. there are many of us who love and respect the US. I'm glad you're not painting all Canadians or Quebecers with the same brush. we'd like to think that Quebecers are Canadians. and yes, like most sports teams now, Canada is also multicultural. these players, while playing for Canadian and US teams are loyal to their teams' Canadian & US anthems they hear, without asking individually that we play their own country of origin's anthems as well. shouldn't we expect Quebecers to show the same 'Canadian' team spirit?
  13. hi Yukon, I live 10 minutes from Mohawk Raceway in Campbellville (20 minutes west of Toronto). I only saw the harness racing once but I really liked it. Mohawk has common-pool wagering and I wouldn't mind becoming a betting woman one day and as well for the thoroughbred racing in North America. Woodbine is constructing a luxury hotel, but Mohawk also has in construction, a hotel and golf course. Generally I go to Mohawk to the casino a couple of times a year. (I'm up about $127.00! pathetic huh?!) re Robert and The Strange Sensation, I saw them at the Molson Amphitheater, and stupid me I would have LOVED to see them in London too but didn't explore tickets at Ticketmaster other than Toronto! I could kick myself in the arse for that! Next time I'll remember... CHEck LONdon too!! I saw Robert and Jimmy in '98 and met them; and Robert and Alison last year... fantastic! I was in the 7th row, closest I've ever been! please excuse all the Smileys... must be a record!
  14. good tips! yes, I noticed that too, pixel quality can start to lose its clarity. sorry. ha ha ha I have to laugh, I remember that show Mary Hartman Mary Hartman... I really liked it! also, I saw Jeff Healey on youtube, and "Blue Jean Blues". OMG I really love the blues and he was great!
  15. hi, I've always thought of LZ fans to be among the most intelligent people in the universe, no doubt, but I must have missed the test! I opened the pic from my Windows Pictures into Paint., resized/skewed the image to 50%, (I didn't want to crop it because it takes out the detail I need)... then I saved the new pic in Paint, and X'd to close. I went to Image Shack and hit Images Browze; brought up Paint, and tried to upload the pic(file) from Paint but it wouldn't. Windows had saved the pic in Windows Pictures which is good... I easily uploaded the new resized pic into Image Shack and it'd be no problem to upload the url code to my LZ signature... so that works great! yes! Opening the pic in Paint, resizing it, then saving it (it saved itself to the Windows Pictures file again), then uploading the new pic from Windows Pictures to Photobucket (and editing it again if desired); then uploading the new pic url code to the LZ signature is also a snap! I can't get the pic to load from the Paint program (don't know why yet but I'll figure it out), but it's easy as pie from now from Paint and Windows Pictures! I'm still having trouble with Irfanview, but no matter, I don't really need it now. so those solutions work well! thanks for your input into this too Dzldoc.
  16. hi Footsteps, yes, I uploaded my resized pic from Irfanview to my Windows Pictures file, then uploaded that new image to Image Shack and renamed the new image, and could add the new picture to my signature... so that worked fine! (but I couldn't upload the new resized picture/file in Irfanview directly into Image Shack... so I could be doing something wrong with that.) thank you so much! Aquamarine has displayed a slightly smaller image so I tried it too. In the image's Properties, I copy/pasted the "Photobucket . com" image url into my browzer which pulled up the image at Photobucket. then I directly uploaded the image from there to my signature and it worked fine too! hi and thanks for that too Aquamarine! so I'm all fixed up now with a shiny new image!
  17. hi I'm trying to resize my signature line image. Image Shack resizes the pic but I can't get the resized image in url format to upload into the sig line. I've downloaded irfanview. I've copied the image and resized it to half and saved it, but "Edit My Signature" is looking for an Image url, and of course the original url image is too big as you see. I know it should be easy for me and for the technologically disadvantaged, but can you HELP! me out? thanks
  18. hi bouncing, The © symbol itself, I copied from a copyright website. Anyone's original work is 'automatically' copyrighted once pen hits paper or is written and/or composed in a tangible medium (song sheet, cd, etc.) so it is your right by law to use the short form symbol without cost or ever having to register the composition. It indicates that you are claiming ownership on original lyrics and/or music, etc. and prevents anyone from copying your work, intentional modification, or claiming they are an "innocent infringer"; that they didn't know the work was protected. It's up to you if you will allow modifications of your work, retain all rights to your work, retain partial rights, or sell all rights (exclusive/non-exclusive). Although publication is not necessary, once it's published on paper, cd, etc.; or 'published (written) to the internet', it should include the notice of rightful ownership and year it was written (or the date on the song/music website, blog, forum, etc.). The best copyright notice for a composition is: Copyright © year, Copyright Owner's Name. All Rights Reserved or ARR. In the US, if you choose an online company website to copyright your work for you, fees may start at $69/year US for 5mg of space reserved for your submissions; or up to $30 or $50 US for each piece they register. They file the Copyright Forms at the Library of Congress for you. (or Do It Yourself website at: copyright.gov.) You may want to consider a website affiliated with intellectual-property attorneys in your country who can help you with contracts. A website like "directlegal" can copyright your songs for the fees above. A website like "TAXI" provides opportunities for record deals for a fee of $5 for each song and $300 for a 1 year membership. In my country, I submit the lyrics and/or music sheets to the CDN Song Vault. Also, I can register songs by placing them on a cd and sending it in. The fee is $15.00 flat administration for 1 submission of up to 12 songs + $5.00 for each song or lyrics. "works in progress" can also be registered. Here, we also have a copyright collective (SOCAN), free membership, who administers the performing rights (royalties) for 80,000 composers and many media compositions.
  19. I just had to mix a loud rock and roll one! ♫ RAISE THE ROOF! (at the concert) © Diane H. (spoken) You know... (cymbal sizzle, guitar burst, bass boom!) 20. a little upbeat pop: ♫ KING OF HEARTS © Diane H. I travelled up and down a road, through city town and country, I saw a billboard sign that read, your fortune told, you won't miss the money. I parked the car and went inside, my mind gobble-dee-gook soup, Ma'am Orchid said shuffle the cards, I never miss!, let me give you the scoop. Got to follow my heart but keep my head, remember the words my Mama said. Your past has been a winding trail, at times it all seemed unfair, the present's middle of intrigue, I see you're no worse for wear. Well all of that's behind you now, life's been speed bumps and bruises, compared to this, your future reads, will seem like midnight cruises. Got to follow my heart but keep my head, remember the words my Mama said. You've drawn the King of Hearts for him, male warmth, ardent, elusive, but he is loved by many, so you'll not have him for yourself exclusive. That suits me just fine I said, he's the answer to my question, for me I drew the Queen Of Hearts, and that was worth the price of admission. Got to follow my heart but keep my head, remember the words my Mama said.
  21. in some Forums, their TOS states that anything posted on the site becomes their property. I cannot find anything written here, but please let me know if the copyright does not remain with the writer. ok I'm gonna try this. I write poems, and lyrics to songs in different genres. they've been set to background music and put on cds; tweaked for flow -- well some of them are just too darn long! And not necessarily that they'd be good, but I had fun writing them a bluesy song: ♫ Soul Depleting Blues © Diane H. (spoken) You know Baby how the blues got started, and claimed by all the broken-hearted, blues begun when the first cheatin' man <sigh>, met the first lyin' woman, I ain't gonna lie! (sung) Sometimes you made me laugh, you made me cry, either way looked through tears in my eyes, remember me! didn't know where to start? you wanted me all at once, I fell for it real hard. Know I shouldn't intrude, eyes glued to you, it's rude, Just lust, lord...a keeper, ego stuff, not deeper, got them no good, cheatin', good for nothin' bleepin' soul depletin' blues. When we were dancin' on the wooden floor, oh you melted me right to the core, with penetrating eyes, but a disguise, and oh yes Baby, you even danced me to your door. Remember the night it was last Tuesday, my head went dizzy, you made me woozy, I'm wondrin' 'bout you, what was in your head, were ya makin' love to me? or someone else instead? Not even out the door, missin' you all over, know somethin's is brewin', gets my mind to stewin', got them no good, cheatin', good or nothin' bleepin' soul depletin' blues. See Baby, the blues ain't no rocket science! ready the fool needs your compliance, my love for you is alive and kickin', took alickin', livin' off love has been the dickens! Don't you worry 'bout me, really I'm fine! can't fall in love with you on my mind, guess I lie to myself, say...it's a crime! 'cause Baby, now that you're gone I don't give a dime! My heart went out to you, wanted me converted, I tried to divert it, had a mind all its own, got them no good, cheatin', good for nothin' bleepin' soul depletin' blues. Oh Baby, one more thing before I go, nothin' between us, but feelin' low, when it comes to you, got a one-track mind, devotin' words, wastin' my time, got no good, cheatin' good for nothin' bleepin' soul depletin' bloo-ooues, got them no good cheatin', good for nothin' bleepin', soul depletin' blues.
  22. I really like the idea of J JPJ and J producing a cd and/or tour in which several guest singers and musicians pop in. They could do Led Zep songs or ones of their choosing. If they jam, it would make every tour date playlist a little different and I'm going to see them all Please post every jam on youboob. Thanks in advance! Could Britain possibly host a 'star search' program just for fun like "The Band Renames The Fame"; or (going way back): "Lead Zeppelin" (with an "a") (oh I can just hear the controversy, or heresy!) to find one suitable singer/and or musician who's prize would be going on tour and singing 1 or 2 songs? from contestants worldwide, myriad genres of music would be enthusiastically explored by J, JPJ, and J (and yes maybe even R) who could be the judges of what they'd like to hear/get into/play. At least one program night could be devoted to contestants singing a number of original songs sent in by lyricists/songwriters, all of whom have been inspired by Led Zeppelin to write/compose. I was. The new song entries could be gathered via a website and voted on online by Led Zep's fans...that way J JPJ and J would have fan input and some pretty good ideas in which direction to go. Please tape the star search programs and send them to me or post online as I won't be getting the show here in Toronto. Thanks again in advance. I was just thinking about the future. Not only could JJPJJ have an influence on/bring new music to the floor, but there would be the peeps still riding the wave of LZ.
  23. well I'm glad to hear they'll always be friends. looks like I'll have to rent an RV and go where Terry is to hear him play... maybe in the summer *wishful thinking again* I just also 'discovered' Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship fame. I love his former Elvin Bishop song "Fooled Around And Fell In Love". and holy smokes we share the same birthday. maybe he would be a good bet for the band... he's still got the chops. but please not Steven Tyler though... he's a good singer but not my cup of tea for J, JPJ and Jason. it just occurred to me that a Jimmy and Friends band would have to come up with new material and a cd if it's to be other than a Led Zep reunion (or even if it was a LZ reunion), and ya gotta admit that Robert was and is an excellent writer, especially metaphorically... that would be sorely missed. perhaps Robert could pen some songs for them even if he didn't tour. P.S. forgive me for commenting while inside your quotes... I didn't know how to separate them.
