  2. I really think that this photo is one of the rare ones. It really is a great photo. I know this one has circulated for some time now, But even so i think that its one of the rare ones. What a great moment captured in time! Jimmy doing what he loves and feeling like the king of the world. These are also some photos that i believe are rare ones. I have a vast collection of photos of zep photos and i have seen many of them all over the internet. But there are ones here and there that really stand out and i believe the are the holy grails and rare ones
  3. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=88f_1440555043 Saw this and thought, if only the great man himself happened to be wandering by, guitar in hand. I think JP could lay some absolutely magic guitar down on this. Enjoy.
  4. Okay, this is probably going to be a rather short thread but I often wonder what the context was for this photo? It was probably from a photo shoot or something right? Was Robert told to write this on the chalkboard? Was Jimmy there too? By "golden god", although unlikely, is Robert referring to himself? Any info would be appreciated! I've always loved this photo its pretty funny seeing Robert write that about his man Jimmy. I wonder how good of friends they REALLY were...
  5. Here is something i have thought about from time to time. At the end of the Earls court show from the 24th You can clearly see jimmy playing with his pic in his hand in one scene, then a couple seconds later, He throws it to the crowd! What i am wondering is who has that pic!?!? Someone out there has it! And i wonder if they are on this website or somewhere out there and maybe someone knows something about it??? This could be awesome!!!!
  6. i know that jimmy liked to paint. are there any photos online of his artwork?? (sorry if this thread already exists im new )

  9. My favorite photo that I ever took of Jimmy.... Jimmy Page at Ronnie Lane's party - La Mansion Hotel, Austin, Texas - after the gig on March 23, 1985 with The Firm.... It's the night we really got to talk for the first time and he was so complimentary of my photos that it made me red with humility.... It was the night he asked for my phone number and a friendship started from there.... The night this photo was taken, he sat down and really perused my photos both of the Dallas ARMS show, but also the photos I had taken onstage of him and The Firm in Houston two nights before on March 21, 1985... Jimmy was cool enough to set seats on the stage for Ronnie and us, and after the gig I thought it was important to let Ronnie and Jimmy have a dedicated discussion without interrupution, including from me... You can imagine how hard it was to stifle myself from trying to talk to him after getting to enjoy Jimmy's return to the US in seats he provided us onstage... But I kept my mouth shut the entire night in Houston, and really didn't start talking to Jimmy at Ronnie's party until I got this "shout out" from the other side of the room......"Hey Mark - these are the best shots I've seen yet of the ARMS tour - can I get your phone number and address so I can get some copies for my archive? And I'm thinking, did Jimmy Page just compliment me and ask for my phone number?!?!? And sure enough, the phone rang a few weeks later with, "Hello Mark, It's Jimmy....!" Needless to say, I didn't ask "Jimmy Who?" So you can imagine, when he and Jimena asked me and my wife to go to the O2 with his family, well it just made for a point of intense reflection in the entire journey I've had with him, including the 20 Page Plant shows I got to see in 1995 and 1998, starting with this photo... The guy has just been incredible to me and my family for THREE decades now, and I can assure you he has been NO "Led Wallet" in my experience... I have to fight him "tool and nail" to pick up a check for dinner.... When I showed him this photo years later, he looked at it and said, "Wow Mark, not very many people have caught me that, uh....."relaxed"....in a photo...." Thanks for many years of good times, Mr. James Patrick Page.....! 11. It's known it was filmed because (along with other outtakes from TSRTS) snippets were included in the Travelling Riverside Blues promo. But, how much was filmed? Where is the footage now? Will we ever see it? Will it be released in the upcoming box sets? Here are all the clips (horribly distracting graphic effects included): http://youtu.be/ZzPsn0QTs9U

  13. Here is a link (below) to demos of my melodies & lyrics for various unfinished Jimmy Page instrumentals: First, Jimmy's “Embryo” instrumentals from the “It Might Get Loud” movie & extras. “Embryo 1” is the one called “Untitled” (to be titled later...), with an original lyric and melody by me. “Embryo 2” (a.k.a “Domino” from Jimmy’s performance at NetAid in 1999) is the one entitled Fhear a’ Bhata - here I adapted a traditional lyric and reworked the melody to fit Jimmy’s instrumental - there is a version of the the original by Sandy Denny - though I learned the song from Gordon Bok, Ed Trickett, and Ann Mayo Muir. “Embryo 3” is the one titled “Thrown Down...” - this is my original lyric and melody. The instrumentals were downloaded from YouTube and JimmyPage.com, and are, of course, Jimmy’s work and NOT mine. My newest demo is of my original lyrics & melody for Jimmy Page's "Summer's Day" acoustic instrumental, re-titled here in my version as "Summer's Day (Eclipse)" . Once again, I have dubbed my vocals over Jimmy's instrumental, here downloaded from JimmyPage.com... ONLY THE VOCALS ARE MINE - THE GUITAR IS JIMMY'S (OF COURSE !). 16. GENESIS PUBLICATIONS ANNOUNCES THE OCTOBER 2014 RELEASE OF JIMMY PAGE’S OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHIC AUTOBIOGRAPHY TITLED SIMPLY JIMMY PAGE CURATED AND CAPTIONED BY JIMMY PAGE, THIS IS THE FIRST EVER BOOK BY A MEMBER OF LED ZEPPELIN Jimmy Page is one of music’s greatest guitarists, innovators and legends. JIMMY PAGE is his official autobiography, a photographic essay he personally created to tell his story for the first time. Jimmy's own words, combined with his handpicked selection of over 600 photographs, make this book the definitive visual and historical record of a remarkable life. JIMMY PAGE will be available in all major bookstores from October 2014. I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to do a written book and I thought of the other side of the coin. I thought it would be unique to have an autobiography in photographs, charting my whole musical journey. – JIMMY PAGE The chronicle of a life in music, by one of the world’s most iconic guitar players, JIMMY PAGE is testament to the author’s vision – a work he describes as a photographic autobiography. Jimmy has chosen every one of the 650 photographs, written the accompanying text, arranged the content into its narrative order and overseen the design of his book. It was important to include every milestone along the way, so people who were fans of the music have got a real testament of the times. – JIMMY PAGE In the form of captions, the intensely private Jimmy has narrated the story of his legendary career for the first time. Delving into his personal archives, Jimmy has revealed unseen photographs, memorabilia and every one of his passports, saved throughout his life. Jimmy’s passport stamps were used to verify all tour dates, making JIMMY PAGE an authoritative historical account. The tour schedules, passport stamps, working visas and memorabilia really make up a complete picture, which just keeps unfolding as you turn each page of the book. – JIMMY PAGE In addition to Jimmy’s own photos, and those chosen from various sources including fans and magazines, his book showcases a collection of iconic portraits and rare images by over 70 of the greatest names in rock photography, including: Ross Halfin, Kate Simon, Gered Mankowitz, Dominique Tarlé, Pennie Smith and Jim Marshall. Jimmy chose one of his favourite portrait shots for the book cover: a 1977 passport photo, shot by Neal Preston on board Led Zeppelin’s private tour plane. There are many rare finds throughout, such as Led Zeppelin playing an impromptu gig in a nightclub in Jersey, or double-exposure shots of Jimmy and Brian Jones by Ian Stewart. I wanted to make it as thorough as possible, so that meant trawling through all the thousands of files that photographers had taken, and pulling from my personal collection as well. There’s a photo of me playing the guitar by the fire at Bron-Yr-Aur cottage. It’s the most complete document that there’s ever going to be because of the amount of time that I’ve put into every aspect. – JIMMY PAGE Over two years in the making, this 512-page volume documents Page’s musical journey, from 13-year-old choirboy to Sixties session musician, through The Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin and beyond. You see this young man growing, from when I’m a choirboy – and took my guitar along to see if I could tune it up from the organ – right through to almost yesterday. – JIMMY PAGE Today, Led Zeppelin remain arguably one of the biggest rock bands of all time, with the demand for tickets to their recent 2007 reunion breaking world records and the hugely anticipated re-issues of their entire catalogue coming on Rhino Records later this year. Jimmy Page continues to make history. He has performed at events including ARMS, Live Aid and the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony; collaborated with artists including The Black Crowes, Leona Lewis, Shirley Bassey and the Foo Fighters; and received awards including an OBE, a Kennedy Center Honor and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On 10th May 2014 he will receive an honorary doctorate from the prestigious university of Berklee, joining previous honourees The Eagles, B.B. King, Steve Winwood, Dizzy Gillespie, George Martin and David Bowie. ‘JIMMY PAGE conveys in photographs what a typical written autobiography never could. The passion and energy of his life and career are crystal clear throughout.’ – Steve Gorman, The Black Crowes Originally conceived as a limited edition of only 2,500 copies worldwide, the first printing of JIMMY PAGE by Jimmy Page sold out within weeks of release. In the spring of 2010, it became the fastest-selling book in Genesis Publications’ 40-year history. Now Jimmy Page and Genesis Publications announce a more accessible and affordable printing of the book, to be released this October 2014. The perfect purchase for Led Zeppelin fans, guitar players and music lovers of any age, JIMMY PAGE is widely available in bookstores from October 2014. I always like to do something different – if you’re inspired by an idea, really make something of that inspiration. That goes for music, as well as anything else – even putting a book together! To have a photographic autobiography is a totally different way of looking at things, but it does the job very well and I think it will bring a lot of pleasure to people. – JIMMY PAGE ABOUT GENESIS PUBLICATIONS ‘As someone who’s always been interested in having a library themselves, I appreciate fine bookbinding and their whole ethic of what they do.’ – Jimmy Page Founded in 1974, Genesis Publications is a family-owned independent publishing house true to the arts of printing and bookbinding. Genesis creates signed limited edition books and prints for collectors in over 50 countries. 17. You'll have to excuse my tardiness...I'm in the middle of a kiler stretch of work and shows. I'm so sleep-deprived I don't know if I'm coming or going. But here are some photos of the event Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at The Grove Barnes & Noble in Hollywood. I was around the hundredth person in line of 250. I got some great face time with Jimmy. Full details to come when I get a chance. No photos were allowed past a certain point in the line.
  18. OMG! My wife and I just got back from the David Letterman Show appearance that featured Jimmy Page tonight...... It was fantastic!! Not just one segment, but two full segments - with Jimmy telling a few stories....he curated several photos from his new book with David Letterman making his own commentary.... Some of the commentary was just absolutely hilarious....a very respectful crowd for Jimmy and very enthusiastic.... The staff at the Letterman Show certainly were treating Jimmy's appearance as special and very rare...... Both JP and David Letterman were in great form..... David's commentary was interesting and funny and he showed Jimmy much respect in general...... They promoted both the book AND the two Super Deluxe Reissues (LZ IV and Houses of the Holy) and showed closeups of some very cool photos from the book.... The Letterman staff were very generous with us, taking great care of us and putting my wife and I on the 2nd row of the balcony with an unobstructed view.... They were great to us.....! There were several times where I was laughing so hard at some of the commentary between Dave and Jimmy - they just had a very cool chemistry tonight and it was really fun to be here and experience it.... So proud for Mr. Page.....he deserves every bit of this acclaim.... Check it out tonight - well worth your time...... Just a brilliant segment.......!! Thought you all would want to know how it turned out..... All the best! Mark & Charley Bowman
  19. Hello! Anyone knows in which date was Jimmy's instrumental "Summer's Day" that appeared on his On This Day entry - 12 August .. I had a day off- recorded? Here's a Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kDdtp4xTpg Thanks.
  20. *****NOTE: I am new to this forum; I am NOT new to anything Led Zeppelin. Please, I ask you to ignore the first part of that sentence, and consider the second. Appreciated. ****** ***The Song Remains the Same Complete Re-EDIT On Way! *** [Note]: Individual evaluation only, not a means of piracy; this will NOT be distributed in any such way; again, my individual evaluations I've always preferred original TSRTS footage, be it a bootleg or 8mm. However, the actual viewing experience is rather limited by the subpar quality even terrible for 1970's cinematics. Honestly, the "film" portions of the film (I know, that sounds redundant, whatever) are pretty ugly. When one compares the close-up concert sequences re-filmed, the viewing experience becomes exhilarating. Add original panoramas of the actual crowd; the experience is timeless. And, of course, 1920 X 1080 resolution is absolutely stunning. The producers made their best intentions to create the best viewing experience possible during the time. The only reason I bring this thought up is because of a project I am working on to re-edit TSRTS (film) as close to original setlist as possible, while still retaining an apex entertainment factor. The fan-edition looks great, but I wish to make it even better. The plans are as follows: 1. Rip 2007 Blu-Ray release as a main video reference for best consumer-attainable quality as of 2013 2. Integrate my FLAC vinyl rips as much as possible to cover the abridged / shortened scene performances and restore original song length. 3. Somehow attain the best quality original footage / bootlegs. This includes the abandoned gaps in Black Dog, The Song Remains the Same, The Rain Song, etc. 4. The whole point of #3 is to eliminate psychedelic/fantasy sequences limiting attention on the band itself. The problem really arises from point no. 3; attaining footage to fill the gaps. I have some, but not enough. If anyone knows where to access the originals in best quality, that would be a great help! Plans for release are late December/early January 2013/2014, though this is extremely tentative and subject to change. ***This is for experimentation purposes only and NOT for personal gain, resale, or profit or mass-release and or reproduction; only individual evaluation.*** If any of you are of interest, please don't hesitate to inform me as soon as possible! Thank you for your support. -A/S
  21. Hey all. I'm currently listening to the BBC Sessions, and I have a question. On the Album cover, what Guitar is Jimmy holding? It doesn't look like a Telecaster or a Les Paul, his usual Guitars. Does anyone know what Guitar it is? Thanks.
  22. Which do you think is better Stairway to Heaven or Kashmir?
  23. Hey everybody, when I was listening to some random, non-Zeppelin things of Jimmy playing the other day (Death WIsh from JP.com, Mean Business, and the "ARMS" concert on vinyl), I thought of RoyalRumpus' post- "Jimmy Page needs a good rest," where Robert Plant responded to Jimmy saying..."bla, bla, bla"...but under that post there was mention of John Davis "tweeting" (I loathe that word) about having a "Terrific session this morning with James Patrick Page." there was a few comments interspersed later in the post about this, but I thought a new posting to track other "leaks" about what may turn out to be a new project from Mr. Page might be a good idea since hopefully there will be more info coming along in time. So, If Jimmy is rehearsing/recording right is he doing the bulk of it at a home studio? Or is he smuggled into the rehearsal space in a coffin? I kid, but how can these sessions go on in secret? People have to work in the area and see him entering a studio building, other musicians in the facility, or even security companies would at least see him enter a room if not get to hear him play. He must have a Peter Grant-esque mafia to keep his dealings in things musical secret. Justin Beiber farts and the media goes wild, Kardashian posts well wishes to a neice on Facebook and that's news for some pathetic reason, so why is there such a shortage of info on Page recording new material? Unless Jimmy isn't working at all, and John Davis is f-ing with us there should be some more info out there if this is happening.
