  1. Hi, I'm starting to look to collect some affordable non-studio albums. As of now - I have never seen or listen to anything besides the major records. Is it worth my time and does anyone suggest a few to get me starting and looking? Thanks, Chris
  2. Beautiful number, with a whole pallete of different renditions. One of my favourite ones is the first rough version on the LZIII deluxe version. It's just so damn raw. Who cares if it's sloppy, or an alternative take? My "hands down favourite version" is the BBC version from April 1971. It is tight (Bonzo and Jonesy in top form), Jimmy is not too flashy, but rather more presice and soulful in his playing, and last but not the least... Percy's on fire!!! Nuff said, I'd like to hear what y'all think?!
  3. First off I'd like to say I am new to the forum and this is my first post, and this question was obviously asked before but, What is your favorite Led Zeppelin year? And why is it? Whether its album releases or live performances. - My favorite year is 1972. Not only Roberts vocals hitting his peak, but Jimmy's live tone was just magnificent. And the recorded audio is very clean. Their performances had many songs from my favorite album "Houses of the Holy". And not to mention it had some of Jimmy Page's beard in that year I believe.
  4. I really love these shows, along with many others. i am a HUGE 1975 fan and if they ever release sbds of these shows i would be so fucking happy!!!! What do you think? 1975.02.06 Led Zeppelin Montreal Forum 1975.02.03 Led Zeppelin Madison Square Garden NY 1975.02.04 Led Zeppelin Uniondale NY 1975.01.29 Led Zeppelin Greensboro NC 1975.02.10 Led Zeppelin Landover Maryland I really enjoy these shows especially the earlier ones like Brussels and chicago because the fucking KILL IT on The Wonton Song and Levee. And i love to hear the rare 1975 version of How Many More
  5. I am looking for suggestions for a gift for a big Zeppelin fan . . . my father turns 60 on 12th January . . ironically the same day that the first album was released (albeit a few years later). As he already owns all Zeppelin on LP in immaculate condition I wondered if there were any really rare ones/ first press you may suggest. . . or if there is anything else to recommend that the ultimate Zeppelin fan would appreciate! Any suggestions would greatly received as although my childhood was spend with a background of Zeppelin my knowledge of LPs and 'original' memorabilia is quite limited! tha
  6. Prior to last night's tragic attacks in Paris, Canal+ aired a segment on Led Zeppelin on Le Grand Journal. Journalist Guillaume Durand recalled his first ever concert: Led Zeppelin in Chatenay-Malabry (Paris) on Dec. 6, 1969. Shown were a few of the only known photos to exist of the gig (by Gilles Chateau). Screenshots & video: Watch the segment here: Guillaume Durand à propos de Led Zeppelin - Le Grand Journal du 13/11

  8. I would like to know your age and whether you think the ages 16 - 60+ is suitable for Led Zeppelin.

  10. I really think that this photo is one of the rare ones. It really is a great photo. I know this one has circulated for some time now, But even so i think that its one of the rare ones. What a great moment captured in time! Jimmy doing what he loves and feeling like the king of the world. These are also some photos that i believe are rare ones. I have a vast collection of photos of zep photos and i have seen many of them all over the internet. But there are ones here and there that really stand out and i believe the are the holy grails and rare ones
  11. This is a really good show, and one of the best audience recordings ever! I'm pretty sure i havent seen a thread no this here but i may be wrong,I havent searched way way back for one, but i just cant recall seeing one. I listened to the show today, its been like a month since i have. And this is a really really heavy, good show! Everyone seems on fire! Bonzo is beastin out tonight, throwing in all sorts of drum adlibs in every song, Playing his BALLS out tonight! And Jonesy, His bass is nice and equal in the miz, you can hear it pretty good and if you listen o it he just plays and plays and
  12. Hello. It has often been stated by historians and fans alike that Mr. Page only used his famous "Dragon" 1959 Rosewood Neck Telecaster, aided along with Sola Sound MKII Tonebender (modified with three OC81Ds by the legendary Roger Mayer) and a 1690T Surpo Corando Amplifier (modded from a 2x12 to a 1x12 by a roadie) for the FIRST 2 LED ZEPPELIN STUDIO ALBUMS. My ears do not agree with such statements. Page acquired a 1958 Gibson Les Paul from Joe Walsh during late April of 1969, since his "Dragon" Telecaster supposedly malfunctioned. So naturally, we would assume here that: "Case closed: Page
  13. Is there a recording of this show? Someone requested it and i would really lov eto find it because this is one of the rare ones i dont have. I did some research and couldnt find a straight answer as to if there even is a recording of the show or not. Any help ??
  14. Hi, I always found really interesting to hear the first performance of songs because we can really see how the public react to something they hear for the first time and sometimes the lyric or the way they perform is different. So I think it's a good idea to make a list of the first performance of Led Zeppelin songs. To make it easier, I'll edit this post and I'll make a list by album. Please note : After 24h I'll not be able to edit my first post, so I'll post an update in the next page, so stand tuned ! example : Good time bad time : [date/link of the bootleg] ... If t
  15. hello all I am preparing to embark on a book about the concert tours of Led Zeppelin. Would the members here care to send me their stories along with the shows they attended for inclusion? Thank you
  16. Hi ! We can say it, Led Zeppelin was an awesome live band .. most of the time .. but sometimes thing just doesn't work right. It can be interesting to see some fail moments they did. And sorry if I make mistake I'm french Well it wasn't Led zeppelin but for Robert Plant, I think of the Live AID in 1985 when he totally stop Page in his solo on Stairway to Heaven, maybe it's the fault of one of the drummer who start the fast beat but Plant heard this repeated lick thousands of time so he knew it's wasn't the end of the solo. 18. Who can tell me when the first live performance of no quarter was???? In my collection, the first one i have is on 09.09.1971 and any concert before that, it isnt on the setlist. My collection consists of almost every single concert ever performed, give or take a few from each year, and the ones that were never bootlegged. so i am pretty sure this is the first appearence of the song, But i am not sure becuase i cant find anything on this topic anywhere, google, other forums ect....

  21. Hello to all! I'm a guitarist from Buffalo, NY and a HUGE Jimmy Page enthusiast (I was lucky enough to meet him on November 5th 2014 in NYC). I play (and also take on the role of lead vocalist) in a three piece blues and rock band that formed in September of last year after some effort to get off the ground. I've actually been conversing with a local radio DJ who runs a Led Zeppelin hour every Sunday night and he is looking to get me on the show. So far we have two songs recorded (produced, mixed and mastered by myself) and are looking to record more very soon as we have quite a few more o
  22. It seems to have quietly passed notice here, but the 46th Anniversary of Led Zeppelin's first U.S. show December 26, 1968 in Denver was yesterday and Billboard magazine published an article noting the event...filled with some of the usual errors and generalizations that sometimes plague Led Zeppelin articles. http://www.billboard.com/articles/6415124/led-zeppelin-first-us-tour-1968-anniversary Led Zeppelin Kicked Off First U.S. Tour 46 Years Ago Today By Leslie Richin December 26, 2014 2:50 PM EST On this day (Dec. 26) in 1968, Led Zeppelin (not to be confused with "Len Zefflin")
