  1. Hi I'm new here! I'm only 15 and haven't seen any Led Zeppelin concerts, but I would honestly buy every ticket to a concert in New Zealand if I had the money (maybe get a loan) and if they would do another concert just so I could sit there and be like... "HI!"
  2. Bill Johnston- founder of the top New Orleans music venue of the 70's, dies at 69. http://www.wwltv.com/news/Bill-Johnston-founder-of-legendary-1970s-Warehouse-music-club-dies-218684801.html NEW ORLEANS - Bill Johnston, the founder of the legendary Tchoupitoulas Street music club known simply as The Warehouse, which hosted Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, the Who and dozens more rock icons during its heyday, has died. He was 69. His wife Teresa said Johnston had been battling throat cancer since January 2012. Friends, including promoter Louie Duet, helped
  3. The purpose of this thread is to archive the tweets sent from the official Robert Plant Twitter feed (@RobertPlant). The account became active on Tuesday 6th August 2013.
  4. This article was published on BBC Worldwide today. I've pasted the copy here so that UK readers can see it. Original URL: http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20130802-why-wont-led-zeppelin-reform On the Record | 2 August 2013 Why won’t Robert Plant reform Led Zeppelin? Reunions are big business. But one ‘70s superstar – Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant – is bucking the trend. Greg Kot explains why. It’s just a wild guess, but the Rolling Stones’ recent run of paydays, er, concerts, are not likely to have gone unnoticed by the former members of Led Zeppelin. The Stones have been away for a
  5. Hello again Forum members "new" and "old". It's been a while for me. I've finally managed to find some free time to attempt/create a thread specifically for Led Zep and related (Plant solo, Page solo, Jones solo, Page/Plant, The Firm, etc) - archives, strictly dealing with New Orleans. There is "The New Orleans thread" that I assembled way back when, but I prefer this to deal with Zep and related material, "ONLY". Please feel free to contribute (as long as it's New Orleans based) if at all possible. Thanks in advance. With all of the audio/video footage, articles (new and old) that's out there
  6. So, I understand that Led Zeppelin song rights to put them in movies and TV can cost a GREAT DEAL of money and make it prohibitive. Words to this effect were given by TV creator/producer Eric Kripke while commenting on his show "Supernatural." If you are a fan of the show, you will have noticed several of the episode titles come from Zeppelin songs, as well as a lead character having his favorite band as Zeppelin and songs between "Traveling Riverside Blues" and "Ramble On." Any idea WHY Zeppelin song usage is so expensive? I would think they would want to introduce new generations to t
  7. In advance of the Shrine Auditorium concert, there was a short but interesting Robert Plant interview in the LA Weekly that came out today, including reminiscences about the first time he came to Los Angeles and the Kennedy Center Honors. Click on the link for the article. "This is me...how did this happen?" http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2013/06/robert_plant_shrine_los_angeles.php
  8. Is there any good Youtube channel about Led Zeppelin? Like doing album reviews and stuff like that
  9. John Bonhams Drumming Explained Rather a heady title I admit. I don’t think anyone can fully explain him. However I have been playing the drums for roughly 38 years, and I started out wanting to be like him at the age of 5. (And Ringo). So I thought some of you might want some insight from a drummer who has studied a master. Because after all, to become a master one must study a master. This could well be a 100 page essay, but in the interest of brevity I have selected a few songs hopefully everyone has access to, and noted time marks where applicable to illustrate my examples. John B
  10. It's known it was filmed because (along with other outtakes from TSRTS) snippets were included in the Travelling Riverside Blues promo. But, how much was filmed? Where is the footage now? Will we ever see it? Will it be released in the upcoming box sets? Here are all the clips (horribly distracting graphic effects included): http://youtu.be/ZzPsn0QTs9U
  11. Do you guys think the o2 Kashmir was the best ever? Or was it the 1979 Knebworth?
  12. What do you think is Led Zeppelin's best rendition of a song. My personal opinion is this:
  13. Does Led Zeppelin sound best on vinyl?
  14. Of the two Knebworth performances which was better? Also, which performance was on the Led Zeppelin DVD.
  15. In terms of the music produced who do you think had the best solo career post Led Zeppelin.
  16. What year or show do you think Robert was at his vocal peak?
  17. At what point do you think a Led Zeppelin reunion could be completely ruled out? Such as if the members become too old. What about the possibility of a new album instead of a reunion concert.
  18. What do you guy think is Led Zeppelin's finest moment. For me it's this:
  19. Who else here thinks Rival Sons-Pressure and Time is a ripoff of Out on the Tiles.
  20. I personally like Outrider I think has more of Jimmy's hard rock and bluesy feel. Unlike some of Robert's later projects. (I enjoy Robert's solo career as well)
  21. Does anybody know where this photo of Jimmy came from.
  22. Robert Plant recently said that he has nothing to do in 2014. Do you think that if Robert was open to another reunion that Jimmy or John would be on board as well.
  23. I am curious of your opinions on Jimmy Page's best solo(s).
