  2. This is a really good show, and one of the best audience recordings ever! I'm pretty sure i havent seen a thread no this here but i may be wrong,I havent searched way way back for one, but i just cant recall seeing one. I listened to the show today, its been like a month since i have. And this is a really really heavy, good show! Everyone seems on fire! Bonzo is beastin out tonight, throwing in all sorts of drum adlibs in every song, Playing his BALLS out tonight! And Jonesy, His bass is nice and equal in the miz, you can hear it pretty good and if you listen o it he just plays and plays and
  3. Is there a recording of this show? Someone requested it and i would really lov eto find it because this is one of the rare ones i dont have. I did some research and couldnt find a straight answer as to if there even is a recording of the show or not. Any help ??
  4. I dont think i have seen a thread on this so here goes. I have seen this picture around for a long time. This picture has always disturbed me a lil bit lol so i usually try to scroll past it lol but a different zep page posted it today and i decided to see what you all think here.... Disturbing right???? Or was it just them having fun??? All drunk and fucked up having

  6. I really think that this photo is one of the rare ones. It really is a great photo. I know this one has circulated for some time now, But even so i think that its one of the rare ones. What a great moment captured in time! Jimmy doing what he loves and feeling like the king of the world. These are also some photos that i believe are rare ones. I have a vast collection of photos of zep photos and i have seen many of them all over the internet. But there are ones here and there that really stand out and i believe the are the holy grails and rare ones
  7. Hello. It has often been stated by historians and fans alike that Mr. Page only used his famous "Dragon" 1959 Rosewood Neck Telecaster, aided along with Sola Sound MKII Tonebender (modified with three OC81Ds by the legendary Roger Mayer) and a 1690T Surpo Corando Amplifier (modded from a 2x12 to a 1x12 by a roadie) for the FIRST 2 LED ZEPPELIN STUDIO ALBUMS. My ears do not agree with such statements. Page acquired a 1958 Gibson Les Paul from Joe Walsh during late April of 1969, since his "Dragon" Telecaster supposedly malfunctioned. So naturally, we would assume here that: "Case closed: Page
  8. Hi, I always found really interesting to hear the first performance of songs because we can really see how the public react to something they hear for the first time and sometimes the lyric or the way they perform is different. So I think it's a good idea to make a list of the first performance of Led Zeppelin songs. To make it easier, I'll edit this post and I'll make a list by album. Please note : After 24h I'll not be able to edit my first post, so I'll post an update in the next page, so stand tuned ! example : Good time bad time : [date/link of the bootleg] ... If t
  9. hello all I am preparing to embark on a book about the concert tours of Led Zeppelin. Would the members here care to send me their stories along with the shows they attended for inclusion? Thank you

  12. Who can tell me when the first live performance of no quarter was???? In my collection, the first one i have is on 09.09.1971 and any concert before that, it isnt on the setlist. My collection consists of almost every single concert ever performed, give or take a few from each year, and the ones that were never bootlegged. so i am pretty sure this is the first appearence of the song, But i am not sure becuase i cant find anything on this topic anywhere, google, other forums ect....
  13. Please post all photos of the Earl's Court concerts you have. Here are the ones from led-zeppelin.org
  14. It's known it was filmed because (along with other outtakes from TSRTS) snippets were included in the Travelling Riverside Blues promo. But, how much was filmed? Where is the footage now? Will we ever see it? Will it be released in the upcoming box sets? Here are all the clips (horribly distracting graphic effects included): http://youtu.be/ZzPsn0QTs9U

  16. The biggest disappointment with the '75 tour of the U.S. was paucity of material from the first three albums. Plan said the band would offer some color from the entire 6.5 year career of Zep and yet we barely get any songs from the first three albums. The first eight songs of every concert begin with tunes starting from Led Zep 4, back into PG, then back in 3 and basically stays there until WLL and the very end where if we're lucky we get HB or CB. This isn't retrospective at all. We got essentially nothing from Zep 1,2 and 3. Oh yeah, toss in the MB from Zep 2 but that's a drum solo, les
  17. Do anybody thing there maybe a Leslie during the solo to Over the and Far away when that guitar does all that Panning in the setero?
  18. It seems to have quietly passed notice here, but the 46th Anniversary of Led Zeppelin's first U.S. show December 26, 1968 in Denver was yesterday and Billboard magazine published an article noting the event...filled with some of the usual errors and generalizations that sometimes plague Led Zeppelin articles. http://www.billboard.com/articles/6415124/led-zeppelin-first-us-tour-1968-anniversary Led Zeppelin Kicked Off First U.S. Tour 46 Years Ago Today By Leslie Richin December 26, 2014 2:50 PM EST On this day (Dec. 26) in 1968, Led Zeppelin (not to be confused with "Len Zefflin")

  20. As anybody who's heard recordings of the 1977 tour knows, John Paul Jones (aided on some dates by John Bonham) sang the Sandy Denny sections of "Battle Of Evermore". It seems to be a somewhat controversial choice... What are yer thoughts on Jonesy's vocals? Like 'em, hate 'em, indifferent? They shoulda got somebody else? (an option I've heard a few times over the years- but in that case, who?) Cast yer vote... (FWIW I seem to flip between 'I can live with them' and 'they shoulda got somebody else'...I'm not sure anybody could do justice to SD's original vocal on the studio track, but
  21. You all should know the drill by now...now that the remastered fourth album ('IV', 'Zoso', 'Untitled'...whatever your preference is) has been released, here is where you can post your feelings, good or bad, about the reissue. This goes for whether you only got the original remastered album, or if you got the Deluxe Vinyl package or if you went whole hog and got the Super Deluxe Editions. Or even if you just got the HD downloads. Whatever format you got this remastered IV, give us your review. How does it sound to you as compared to the original vinyl or the old cds? Do you like the packagi
  22. This is a very debatable topic, but I'd like to state my opinion anyways, I even have proof to back up my theory, but it's just my opinion, you could think whatever you want and I'm cool with it. I think that the tape didn't run out during Heartbreaker, but somewhere during here: Long Tall Sally During 2:38, the audio goes from a multitrack tape to a more distant audience-sounding-ish tape (it's most likely to come from the cameras), therefore I think the tape ran out during the performance of Long Tall Sally and not Heartbreaker, and this is also one of the few reasons this wasn't inc
  23. Again, we all know that this was the precursor to the song Achilles Last Stand (my favorite BTW), but does anybody know when was the first time this was played live as a medley in Dazed and Confused. Did this song just form from an improvisation?
  24. Hello all, I'm new to this forum and thought I'd introduce myself, while also subjecting myself to endless criticism. My band "Elk Creek" performs "When the Levee Breaks" occasionally. Anyway just thought I'd share. The way we do it ends up being a little more Harmonica focused than Zeppelin's version.
