  1. Loved it from the first strum. Listen to beautiful closing song for "Love the Coopers" movie made in PittsburghWritten by Barbara Vancheri on Wednesday, 04 November 2015 10:47 am. This is the beautiful closing credits song from "Love the Coopers," filmed in Pittsburgh earlier this year (that's why the snow looks so authentic) and arriving in theaters Nov. 13. The song, written by Charles Duncan, is performed by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. Here is the information from Republic Records about the music: REPUBLIC RECORDS will release the "Love the Coopers" official soundtrack album. Capturing the Coopers' holiday theme, the soundtrack includes the studio reunion of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss on their Christmas original "The Light of Christmas Day," their first recording since 2009's platinum-certified Grammy Award® Winner for "Album of the Year," Raising Sand. Otis Redding's "Merry Christmas Baby," Sixpence None the Richer's "Carol of the Bells," and also features seasonal classics from Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, and more. Debuting on Friday, November 13, 2015 through all digital retailers. The highly anticipated film opens in theaters everywhere the same day. Enjoy a new holiday tradition with the "Love the Coopers" Official Soundtrack Album. TRACKLISTING:1. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - The Light of Christmas Day2. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal3. Otis Redding - Merry Christmas, Baby4. Bob Dylan - Girl from the North Country5. Sting - Soul Cake aka "A Stoalin"6. Nina Simone - To Love Somebody 7. Bob Dylan - If Not For You8. Tamika Lawrence, Molly June & Wes Hutchinson - O Holy Night13. Nick Urata - Fear of Silence About LOVE THE COOPERS:When four generations of the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday. http://blogs.post-gazette.com/arts-entertainment/mad-about-the-movies/45332-listen-to-beautiful-closing-song-for-love-the-coopers-movie-made-in-pittsburgh Quite the group of artists on that soundtrack list. ‘Love The Coopers’ Soundtrack, Aka Love Robert Plant & Alison Kraussby Patrick Hipes November 4, 2015 8:58am The soundtrack for CBS Films’ holiday comedy Love The Coopers won’t street until November 13, the same day the movie hits theaters, but this morning’s tease pretty much made my day: there’s a new original song (a Christmas one) on the album from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, who in 2007 teamed for the Grammy-winning Album of the Year Raising Sand but haven’t recorded anything together since. It’s a coup for CBS Films, which is good at the care and feeding of the music in its films — the studio guided the cool folk soundtrack (OK, they had help from uber-producer T Bone Burnett) for the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis that featured music from Bob Dylan, Marcus Mumford and the Punch Brothers and of course the film’s stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Adam Driver and Justin Timberlake. The Coopers soundtrack, from Republic Records, also features two Dylan songs, as well as Nina Simone, Sting and Fleet Foxes among others. Love The Coopers centers on four generations of a family who come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, and a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down. Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Olivia Wilde, Amanda Seyfried, Anthony Mackie and Marisa Tomei lead the ensemble cast helmed by Jessie Nelson. http://deadline.com/2015/11/love-the-coopers-robert-plant-alison-krauss-new-song-soundtrack-1201606941/
  2. Lead Belly at 125: A Tribute to an American Songster Saturday, April 25, 2015, 8:00 PM, Kennedy Center Concert Hall Lead Belly is one of the mainstays of American folk music. A master storyteller through song, he (Huddie William Ledbetter) blended the sound of traditional folk with blues, work songs, and spirituals to create a body of music that ranks with the catalogues of Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, America's other folk music stalwarts. This special one-night-only concert in collaboration with the Grammy Museum, Lead Belly at 125: A Tribute to an American Songster, celebrates the man and the music featuring many of today's top artists performing Lead Belly classics. The musical evening features Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, and Buddy Miller with Viktor Krauss as headliners, with special appearances by Alvin Youngblood Hart, Billy Hector, Valerie June, Shannon McNally, Josh White Jr., Lucinda Williams, and Dan Zanes, among others.
