Bring Them On Back

What's a good fun rock n roll song like CCR, Long Cool Woman (The Hollies), Living Loving Maid, Rock and Roll?

I don't see how you can jump from CCR and the Hollies to AC/DC? I find their rhythm section cumbersome and repititive, for most of their work. Have you explored Mountain or The James Gang?

ACDC sort of does them as well just a bit heavier. like High Voltage or Can I Sit Next to You Girl

I read in a magazine that AC/DC didn't want to do Back In Black originally. the opening riff was Malcolm's but he thought it was too heavy and said they didn't want to do a Led Zeppelin thing.

James Gang is really good for that sort of thing you're talking about. Try Funk #49. Not only their biggest song, but has great rhythm.

This is probably too obvious, but have you tried Steppenwolf? Or George Thorogood? Gosh, that's all that's coming to mind right now...hope that helps a little.

Hmm, it seems I need to check out James Gang!

James Gang is glorious. Check out Rides Again.

Speaking of Joe Walsh, Rocky Mountain Way has a nice bit of slide going on.

It sounds like the op is looking for straight forward, four on the floor, songs to jam along to.

I'm sure we've heard these before, here are my suggestions.

Get Back-Beatles

Taking Care of Biz-BTO

All Right Now-Free

Joan Jett-I Love Rock and Roll

All of these are pretty "strummy" with a minium of single note lead work a-la CCR. KISS has TONS of songs like that as does any of the poppier rock bands of the 70's like The Raspberries and Big Star.

You may want to check out more recent bands like Teenage Fanclub.
