leozeppelin
I've been thinking. The newest generation is being raised on rap/disney. in other words, crap. less and less people are listening to LZ. once the people brought up by zeppelin die, than even less people will be introduced. i believe that if this continues to happen, led zeppelin will be forgotten one day. meaning, the world will have no point. i am very glad my friend introduced me to zeppelin, otherwise i may have been snared into the crap music crowd. less and less people are listening to Zeppelin. once they die, that could go two ways. it'll be in the news, possibly causing young ones to look them up, or more likely they will be forgotten. this must not happen. does any one else thing zeppelin will be forgotten? i hope not, cause than would kill myself. Dr Death
Uhh... no! Led Zeppelin will never be forgotten. Their music is still relevant today and it will still be relevant in 40 years. Jimi Hendrix passed nearly 40 years ago, yet he is still a prominent musician who still sells millions of albums a year. The reason groups like Zeppelin and Hendrix will always be around is because they created timeless music. Kind of like Amadeus Mozart, who died 218 years ago, yet is still remembered, loved and respected today. The kids who are 6 or 7 now will be getting into Zep/Jimi etc. in another seven or eight years. Rest easy...
leozeppelin
I thought I'd get something like that, and after reading your reply, I'd have to say I'd agree with you. However, I think music is mostly dead. There are a few beacons of light out there, but most of the new stuff isn't too good. Less songs are coming out with any value, nothing that makes you think. Bands aren't around to evoke reactions or emotions anymore, they exist to make a quick buck. Music is not about money, but making people think, and be happy. Bands have forgotten that quality. Kids these days are being brought up by horrible songs with no meaning or depth that will be forgotten in 5-10 years. Although Led Zeppelin and other classic bands will live on, I think at this rate the current musical world is being suffocated by rap and teen rock-pop. While Zeppelin lives, there will be hope, and I can only pray that people will come to their senses and throw out the Jonas Brothers. ninelives
Actually more and more young people are discovering rock through games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero etc. I don't think you have to worry about Zep and others being forgotten
Misty
...and, as all things do, music can live on thru our kids. my 6 year old can pick Zep out on the radio immediately. teach your children well....

Im waiting for them to die off Im hoping it wont take that long I KNOW! All my friends love the Gayness Jonas Brothers and I hate them. I mean, what the big deal?! Three guys singin' together, and they aren't even cute! They probably jerk it together! They are all friggin' annoyin'!And don't get me started on Hannah Slutty Montana! I hate to share the same name as her! When I turn sixteen, I'm changing my name to... any ideas??? PS, I only know three people in my school that listens to Zep. Not countin' me. Soccerzubs
You're missing one of the best things about Zeppelin, it is a hidden treasure that only a few people know about. And the only people who understand what you are talking about are the ones who also share in the magic. I know for a fact that if everyone I knew listened to and loved Zeppelin as much as I did I wouldn't be listening to them as much as I do now. BlackDog71
I don't see them dying out. Almost 30 years after they disbanded, people went insane trying to get tickets to the O2 show. I guarantee the Jonas Brothers won't have any kind of 27 year reunion concert like that. Nor will Fall Out Boy, Black Eyed Peas, or any other band out today. Zeppelin is timeless. If the Punk Rock era didn't do them in, then what can? They are truly giants in a land of small musicians.

If the Punk Rock era didn't do them in, then what can? They are truly giants in a land of small musicians. You said it right. I'm giving Joe Jonas 6 years to come out. But these are teeny bopper groups you know, every generation has them. Usually they are ones that evolve into Cliff Richards or good heavens Timberlake if they ingratiate themselves only enough with rap moguls. Zeppelin never was one, having cultivated a cult music all their own. Fall Out Boy - well I don't wonder why Robert Plant shies away from the Brit music scene at the moment. Mind you 98% and I mean 98% of ALL of my fave ever bands are from UK, them being from UK only being a coincidence. But their musicality not being one. Except that right now I pass. Hannah Montana can't even carry her own tune but I watched the show for a long while - because that she was a good comedic actress was no joke, alongside a good cast - Emily Osment, the brother the other friend even honky tonk what's his face. I havent watched it in months I think it's not too funny anymore, and when Hannah stops being cute, she needs to rely on talent which is not a lot except for comedic timing. And the attitude she's shown Radiohead is soo turn off. Now I'm not a big fan of Frodo either but between Hannah and Radiohead, I'd pick the latter having way so much more relevance. So Hannah needs to realize she is not allowed a sense of entitlement next to Radiohead - Get That (so g--). P.S. I like Black Eyed Peas. zepskier
I agree that it is sad when people refer to Led Zeppelin as he, but I work with kids and one day I was wearing a zep shirt, I think it was the Mothership one but I don't know, and a 4 year old said that he had the same shirt, so I'm not worried. Im waiting for them to die off Im hoping it wont take that long Teen idols have been around for years and years - there's nothing new about the mania surrounding the Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana. True to form, they'll fade away and before you know it, others will take their place. You're missing one of the best things about Zeppelin, it is a hidden treasure that only a few people know about. Remember David Cassidy, Donnie Osmond and the Monkees? Teen heart-throbs ala the Jonas Bros. I'd say that they faded rather quickly. And just look at our fourm members. We are all age ranges, with more members under 30 than over 30. And our number of forum members is over 10,000 now. Pretty great for a band who's last record of new material was over 30 years ago, before alot of our members were even born.

You're absolutely right, good music will go through the time. I do too - I've learned some of his music over the years. It's interesting to study because on the surface, it almost seems simplistic until you really get into it and realize how complex it really is.
