Hi all,

Saturday 13 June 2009 - Primrose Hill Summer Fair, 2 - 5 p.m. An acoustic guitar signed by Robert (who lives in PH on a somewhat irregular basis and yes, I have drunk beer with him in a local pub) is up for auction. There is a bid in for £150 so who knows what limit the sky will hold?

Nearest tube station is Chalk Farm on the Northern Line, Edgeware branch.

http://www.primrosehillca.org.uk/ for more details.

The Fair is only held once a year - stalls with stuff for sale, clowns, punch and judy, stilt walkers, stuff like that. So get there if interested and bring your kids, grand kids, yourself, your significant other.... anyone who loves Led Zepplin and/or fancies a day out in Primrose Hill.

Sorry for the short delay - it is TOMORROW!

See you there!

Kevin

I didn't see what cause specifically the auction was for, unless it was generally for the good of all things Primrose Hill, which is fair enough. I hope the guitar went to a worthy winner!

I was quite tempted by the coach trip to Southend, myself.

The charity is the Primrose Hill Association and it does things like subsidising coach trips for senior citizens, organises interesting free talks (often about the local area and its history), and running a football team for teenagers and training them - there is not a lot organised for teens in our bit of London and it helps to reduce gangs developing if they just hang around the streets.

The guitar finally went for £1,200 at auction and we were lucky with the weather, so the Fair was a good one. It is something of a meet-your-friends-and neigbours event and a major thunderstorm and cloudburst really does not help - as happened a year or two back.

I am rather perplexed are there two guitars he signed?

According to what is on the wire the guitar hadn't been auctioned yet, and it is for this society the Worcester and District branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society, not the the Primrose Hill Fair.
