tmtomh
What's the best boot of each of the '71 shows? Not an easy question. Here's a start: 09 23 71 Tokyo - IMHO "Flying Rock Carnival Complete" is the definitive version of this 10 02 72 Tokyo - I think Empress Valley's "Led Zeppelin is My Brother" is very easy on the ears. 09 29 71 Osaka - There are approximately 8,456 versions of this. :-) ... But I would say Wendy's "Fatally Wanderer Definitive Edition" is a great place to start. Recently Tarantura released "Geisha 40th Anniversary Edition." It's a great compilation of digitized versions of some of the much-lauded vinyl sources, patched with other sources where no vinyl is available.
Melcórë
I own the You Were There in Spirits/Live in Japan 1971 EVSD release - generally, I like it's sound. A major annoyance, however, is that they didn't bother to pitch/speed-correct the aud source they mix in with the soundboard.
