Who would sell out faster Solo Page or Solo Plant

Recommended Posts

Without Allison Krause would Plant out sell Page in a a Solo rock concert setting?

I saw Plant in 05. Half the venue was there. It was far from a sell out. He was good. This is when he came with Strange Sensation.

I say that Page would sell out. My reason for stating this is that Page would play more Zeppelin.

Comments?

Even if we were to indulge in this rather pointless exercise, one would need way more key factors.

Touring with whom (RP w/backing group?SS?AK?; Page w/backing group?Page w/All Star list?)

How many shows/How exclusive?

Touring on a new album or just going out there (new songs or memory lane)?

Don't know who would sell out faster, but one thing for sure- I would definitely try to get tix for both shows! (and for Jonesy too, if he was touring)

Maybe more people would see Jimmy since its been so long?

If him and RP were touring at the same time and I could only afford to see 1.. I know who I'd pick...

While I don't really think Mc7 has any bad intention (I've seen and answered in quite a couple of thread he started and I know this), I'm sorry to say, IMO this thread is really pointless and could very probably turn into something very unpleasant.

Well most threads around here do.

You're right...

And that's why I don't want to see one more. <_<

I don't think its that stupid of a thread. It could be interpreted to be following the ever present "Robert bashing" theme we got going on this board, but I don't think McSeven is one of those people. But others could definitely make it turn ugly you are right!

In all honesty though, as I said before, JP hasn't toured in so long and if he did I think people would go nuts. Not because he is "better" than Robert or something, but just because everyone has been missing him!

I don't think McSeven had bad intentions at all for this thread and my comment above wasn't meant as an attack.

I would love to see Jimmy. I wish he would do something like Outrider again. If I had an oppertunity to see Robert, I would. And if it was both-with or without Jonsey, even better.

Let me start all over again. Let say Robert is touring with a new solo Album. Jimmy is touring with a new album. I was just saying who would be a bigger draw.

Robert does all new material with a few Zep songs. Jimmy does a lot of Zep songs with a few new songs.

All I am saying is which one do you think would draw more people to their concerts? Once again Robert is doing less Zep. Jimmy is doing more Zep.

I say that it would be Jimmy. I am basing my question on who the bigger draw would be. When Robert came to Winnipeg, Manitoba. The concert was not sold out. It was actually half the size.

I am not trying to stir things up. Robert and Jimmy have to keep their business heads straight. It makes sense that they still have to balance Led Zeppelin in their lives if they want to keep their audience going to their concerts.

You're basing your opinion on ONE performance, and you haven't attended any Page concert. I think it's a bit off to draw a conclusion like that.

And, I think it would depend largely on the albums. If the album is good there would be more people interested.

Too many variables to really answer. I've seen many Robert shows over the last few years that were sold out and second shows added in the same city as a result. Some cities that may not be the case but that's not unusual with any artist. Their fan base may not be as large in that particular city.

I would just like to see them on the road in the near future :)

So they're both going to sell out? And even compete to see who can do it faster? :o

;)

Seriously though, the answer depends on many unknown variables, as already pointed out. There is bound to be much curiosity about new music from Jimmy though.
