So who are you?

I'm your basic sitting in the recliner (my chair, don't even think about it!), remote in hand, watching NASCAR with a beer in hand, guitar at my side for grabbing during commercials, steaks on the grill (even when it's snowing), tequila shots by the pool, always in shorts and flip flops kinda guy. Your basic American slob.

How would you describe yourself in the stereotypical sense?

Well I prefer Vodka to Tequila. Have the guitar handy like you. Keep changing the tunings though. Wish I had about 4 of them. Prefer sports to NASCAR but to each his own. Get lazier with age. But not that lazy. Not overweight, yet. Like to cook.

Yeah, I'm into tunings (and credit card debt!)

I'm the mom driving her kids all over Virginia and cheering them on after working all day. :) Trying to get out and exercise with the girls when I can; and spending lots of time with my family. I'm not much of a drinker but I have a very irreverent sense of humor. I'm still a bit of a nerd at heart; and I can be either an introvert or extrovert, depending on the day.

We're kind of like the "According to Jim" or the Luvs Diaper commercial family; not quite "Roseanne", but we're not prim and proper by any stretch. :)

Why not just come right out and say those magic words? "Eat your heart out!" Im soooo jealous. Im playing an Alvarez acoustic and a piece of shit Ep copy electric.

I would drop the "Eat your heart out", but I've had to eBay most of them for economic reasons. I'm down to the black Strat, an Epi Les Paul and the Takemine Classical. Least I'm honest!

I'm a dinki di Ozzie.

I love sports of any kind and music.

I have my trusty Maton acoustic at arms length at all times.

I'm unemployed.

A few mates and I recently got together and jammed and so far it looks promising!

I'm on the lookout for an electric and amp.

In the words of Donovan:

"I'm an earth sign mama...."

"I like my trees and books, I love my woman to cook...."

^^Hey mate from Oz! I'm unemployed too. What say we throw some steaks on the grill (no shrimp on the barbie nonsense. Maybe a shrimp cocktail..), break out the guitars, and plan how we'll hot rod that Holden sitting in the garage?

Sounds good to me dude!

Yeah shrimp (prawns) are best served cold! ;)

"Test... one, two, is this thing on?"

Only I've got a '97 Mitsubishi Verada out front.

He says sheepishly....!

What do you think of Marcos Ambrose?

You mean Kangaroo meat?

5 Top Tens, 2 Top Fives this season. Not too shabby for a guy whose toilet drains backwards! ;)

Hang on a minute Bucko!

This has already caused an international incident, remember Bart?

Actually our drains flow clockwise and that's why we will always be ahead of the USA! :o

It's a space, time continuum, thing.

Ambrose was a champion V8 Supercar driver and he raced for Ford.

Edit:

Eastern Creek Raceway is about a 5 minute drive from my house.

Hah! I was havin a laugh Reg! I know his resume. He's great driver!

The joke was that your drains flow clockwise (ie to the right) while NASCAR goes counterclockwise (to the left) So obviously the poor bastard needed to go through a period of reorientation! ;)

Also, your cars are left wheel drive and ours are "right" wheel drive. :P

Surely you mean wrong wheel drive mate!

I guess we must research the sides of the street used by horses. Hmm, those heiroglyphics with Isis in a chariot. From what side of the road was that rendering perceived? Left or right? :P

Hmm...I guess I'm kinda hard to pin down. I suppose you could say I'm equal parts snob and slob. I, too, am a big NASCAR fan, and I love to drink beer, but it has to be good beer - none of that Pabst/Schlitz crap. On the other hand, I'd just as soon read Shakespeare. I like to hang out in coffee shops and sip a latte, but I also love to go to loud-ass rock concerts. I listen to everything from classical music to outlaw country. I love flip flops, high heels, and cowboy boots (although I do have a soft spot for the cowboy boots, even if I end up wearing flip flops most of the time). I'm a realist with a dash of pessimism, and yet I'm a hopeless romantic despite my best efforts to the contrary. I love learning, but I think philosophy is total bullshit. I'm shy as hell, but I'm opinionated as feck (I just choose to keep it to myself most of the time). So...take from that what you will!

Hey Ev, who's your favorite NASCAR driver? I'm a Tony Stewart fan, myself (even if he did try to give me a heart attack on Saturday).

Totally saw Tony ass out lil' "Rowdy" Busch at the bar in the Sunset Station casino! I walked in there with 5 laps to go, waiting for the fireworks to start.

I am a reader. My book collection would make most anyone say "Okay. Nicely diverse and most subjects well covered". I am proud of it. I love my books!

Was gonna start this post with "Dude", then I saw the bit about high heels, looked at your avi and got totally braintwisted! :hysterical:

Have a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on me!

I wasn't aware they had laned roads in Isis' time.

Well we drive on the left (the other right) hand side of the road!

English is read left to right, right?

We write from left to right, right?

Hebrew, Aramaic and Arab languages are read right to left, right?

They write from right to left, right?

The Earth rotates and orbits the Sun in the (left to) right direction, right?

So it is by rite of passage that clockwise or left to right is correct, right?

Confusing alright, isn't it?

You picked a good 5 laps to watch, that's for sure! Jeez, and I thought nothing was going to come close to Talladega this year...

 Yeah, that's me! A bit of a braintwister, but not quite THAT much of one, hehe. I promise I'm not a guy who shows up to NASCAR races in high heels and chaps. ;) (Not that there's anything wrong with that, necessarily...I would totally support a guy who had that kind of courage!) Nope, just a girl who thinks rednecks do sports and music rather well. You can totally call me "dude" if you want to, though - I think I call almost everybody I know "dude" regardless of gender, so I don't mind. :D

Why, thank you, I believe I will. Cheers!

So "sweetheart" would be fine as well?

*looks over shoulder, sees girfriend watching*

So, *cough* Tony Stewart drives the 14 car now...

Okay, everything just snapped into place. I was away for a long time, Footsteps from San Diego. Your avi threw me off too. Now I realize I'm talking to someone I actually know! Don't I feel the doofus?!! DUH!!!

Hi! How are you?

Oh! Ok, that's what the deal was, lol! No, it's ok, I was posting reeeeally infrequently there for quite awhile myself, so I was surprised that anybody remembered me at all when I came back "full-time." And yeah, avatar changes always throw me for a loop, too...don't feel bad.

Hehe, I'm doing good! How about yourself? Is Angie going to come back, too? I've been missing all the old-school people. Glad to see you and a couple others have made your way back! :cheer:

I am a confident person..took me a while to get there. Love music, nature, good movies... I had to dress extremely professional for many years as I worked for Ritz-Carlton (I was there when the company was new and much smaller.) We had to be perfect. Worked and traveled to the extreme for almost 20 years. Now I am with Starwood Hotels. Work out of my home and some days I don't even come out of my pajamas...Love it!!! Most of my career has been RC and Starwood

I stay home most of the time and appreciate my home life. One son who will graduate next year from Tulane. Very Proud of him. Have two dogs - and if I could find a man to love me like my dogs then I would probably date more:-)

I love jeans and a T-shirt, no makeup unless I have to. I do not drink, stopped when I was 21. Do not do hard drugs. Love to have friends come and visit. (Finally have time for it).

More mature at this point so I don't sweat the small stuff any more.

And last but not least... still believe that Zeppelin is the greatest band of all times:-)

Happy, content , grateful to be so and outside of smoking, free of vices.

I guess all of the above makes me a bit of a bore but I'm grateful for that too :D
