Tawny Paul
...Just for a look see. There's a covered walkway from the North Greenwich station to the O2. You will cross over the Greenwich Meridian Time line as you walk there. There are no posters or publicity material around the site for the concert at all, but then, it doesn't really need publicity does it??There is a security check point just inside the door, everyone is asked to put bags through a scanner and is waved over with a metal detecting wand. Bootleggers beware...This gets you into the giant tent that the O2 Arena is in the middle of. There is a parade of bars and cafes around the outer perimiter of the inside of the tent. According to the security guy I spoke to, this is open to everyone, whether you have a ticket or not. The ticket barrier for the concert is further inside, which makes sense as there are other exhibitions and a cinima in the same buildoing, so the public must be able to access it. The merchandising counter is in this public area, whether or not thats where they will sell stuff from I don't know. There are the usual suspects of Pizza places, Zizi, sushi bar, Slug and Lettuce, etc eateries and also a Bar called S&M (no, I didn't ask)According to posters in the underground station, the last train back towards London Centre is just after midnight. Hope that helps someone. I'll be down there on the day, mooching about, in Evster-designed T-shirt. Feel free to say hello. No, I don't have a ticket. So say "Hi Tawny Paul!" and see if you get an answer! TP

I've gotta be back at Kings X by midnight, so I hope the queues for the tube aren't TOO bad on the way out after 11. Otherwise I'll be stuck in London. Keep in mind guys, there will be thousands of people at the event without tickets who just want to "mooch" around like TP. Nothing wrong with that, just plan extra time to get home is all. Combine the moochers with the actual ticket holders and you're looking at thousands of people in one place at one time...many more than to be expected. Professor Frink
Nirvana, you appear to be convinced that some sort of armageddon will occur at the O2 on Monday. It won't. Its a busy place mate; there are often three events occuring at once there on an evening - that plus the cinema/the King Tut thing etc; crowds are not unusual, and the place is organised to cope with them. However, our yard is filled with slugs and I would be happy to collect some and deliver them personally if the boys in the band would like. Armageddon, who said anything about Armageddon? I'm talking about excessive crowds - not the end of the world mate! Stop making this out to be a Biblical event, it's not - it's a concert with lots of people coming.
