Led Zeppelin live performances from the past will be screened in cinemas across the country on December 10 - the same night of the band's reunion concert at London's O2 Arena.

Vue Cinemas are organising the screenings, which will include footage from the band playing live in the 1970s, including the band's five-night residency of Earl's Court in 1975.

The screenings will be in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, and images have been restored.

The Vue are selling tickets for the screenings through their website.

The Vue cinemas where the Led Zeppelin screenings will take place are: Greenwich O2, Manchester Lowry, Leeds Kirkstall, Birmingham Star City, Bristol Longwell Green, Thurrock Lakeside Shopping Centre, Edinburgh Ocean, Dublin Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

Man, what a tease. :(

....it's just the DVD from 2003 .........and VH1 will probably be playing TSRTS .......again. Both of which should already be in your dvd collection.

I wouldn't mind seeing the DVD on a full size cinema screen with 5:1 and that, seeing as I haven't dragged my rubbish old TV into the home cinema age yet.

Unfortunately I'm doing something else that night.

At least this time, unlike previous news releases, the article makes it clear what is being shown and it's only the headline that is a tease.

Indeed ! There has been so many phoney "concerts" being shown to confuse people.

That sucks!

How could we possibly be thrilled to watch an old show on the NIGHT they are PERFORMING LIVE....

Not me.

I'd just sit there and cry.. :(

So true.

Whats the point when you can watch it any time.

The Houston Astros did a Led Zeppelin night promo where they gave away a few copies of the DVD and played four songs from the DVD on the Diamond Vision screen in centerfield for what they called a "virtual concert" that night. The sound system at Minute Maid Park was suprisingly good and a lot of people stuck around after the game to watch. I, of course, had already seen it since I got my DVD right when it came out.

The promo for the showing on VH1 Classic said they would be showing bits from several live shows. They showed concerts from the 70's and Knebworth so hopefully they will mix it up a bit.

HA! I got to see the movie sucker! I win.

For anybody who might care it was two hours of footage from the 2003 DVD. Whilst we all own this, i enjoyed it (even knowing a few feet away the reunion gig was taking place). Was dead good to see in the cinema with booming sound. Oh, and the cinema sells beer
