Levee
I remember being a wee lad of six when I pulled myself up to the table for lunch. As I pondered why I was eating bologna for the 1000th time I got up enough nerve to engage myself in a lighthearted discussion with my normally cold Mother. Mom Yes I was wondering how I got my name Well... Is it because it's by birthday is so close to Christmas? No Saint Nick's day? No Well what then? As a child I once had a dog named Nick What the fu...you named me after a dog! Yes Mom! how could you, after a dog! Well.... I always liked that name Oh God.... Do you want me to tell you about the time I gave Nick a bath and then put him in the oven to dry? No....make it stop.....make it stop..... Ok Um, pass me that sharp knife, will ya? Ok

Bilbo the Rover
Don't feel bad Levee, that dog you were named after must have been loved, and in turn you are loved more than your namesake !

Would you rather be a dog named after a human? How would you like to be a dog with an IQ much higher than the average human, yet still have the uncontrollable urge to chase (in circles) after your own tail? How would you like to be an artist but be limited to holding the paintbrush or drawing with your mouth? How would you love conversing on the internet but be tortured having to type using this archaic QWERTY keyboard with my bare paws? So, how do you like them golden apples, Mr. Nick? I could go on and on ... The grass is NOT greener on this side of the fence. (In fact, it's yellowed and quite dead in many patches if you catch my drift). - JAG, the dog who could do anything p.s. Hang this as a reminder to yourself of how lucky you are. And let's both be thankful we're not a pair of squirrels. Everyone know they're a bunch of freaks. p.p.s. Putting a dog in the oven is very un-canine of you!!!
