Fan_S. Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Hi guys! So, yeah, Zoso1968 I love listening to the Allman Bros.' Statesboro Blues! Here's a link to their chords... (Stateboro Blues, written by Blind Willie McTell) http://www.fretplay.com/tabs/a/allman_brothers/statesboro_blues-crd.shtml http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P8iTHpRD8g Maybe, one day, you give me a tutorial on slide guitar--Dickey Betts style. Wish I could do that! haha. ↓ Play the C7 like this. But play the red C7 when you feel like doing the fancy, nice melody descent, almost like they do. In other words, when you're transitioning from C7 to G7. Play the notes on G string, in this order the red, orange then green, then open. Then onto the G7 chord. C7 Chord E-_A-_D-_G-_B-_E |__|__|__|__*__|index |__|__*__|__|__|middle |__*__|__*__|__|ring, pinky |__|__|__|__|__| |__|__|__|__|__| C7 (with the descending melody-line) Chord E-_A-_D-_G-_B-_E |__|__|__ *__|__|index |__|__*__*__|__| |__*__|__*__|__| |__|__|__|__|__| |__|__|__|__|__| G7 Chord E-_A-_D-_G-_B-_E |__|__|__|__|__*index |__|__|__|__|__| *__|__|__|__|__|ring |__|__|__|__|__| |__|__|__|__|__| F7 barre Chord E-_A-_D-_G-_B-_E *__|__|__|__*__*index |__|__|__*__|__|middle |__*__|__|__|__|ring |__|__|__|__|__| |__|__|__|__|__| Have fun, Zoso1968! Zoso1968 Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 man.. is that him on slide with the lp? Quote
Fan_S. Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Sorry, no. I think he had a falling out with the Allmans then. That night, they had Derek Trucks and some other great guitarists in their line-up. Edited August 22, 2009 by Fan_S. Quote

marmorek Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 man.. is that him on slide with the lp? That is the wonderfully talented Warren Haynes (also lead guitarist for Gov't Mule and The Dead). I saw him perform with both The Allman Brothers and The Dead at the Gorge back in May. He played for a total of about five hours! Quote
Bencatley Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Hi, Its prob quite a unknown Allman Bros tune, But check out 'Low Down Dirty and Mean' from seven turns album. A great great easy to play tune.. Great Betts lead work on this one ! Have a listen. Quote
