ZosoZombie
Was at a tiny club in ft lauderdale flroida. in a plaza at the corner of cypress creek and dixie in same plaza as cheers. was hanging out behind the place "smoking" and he just walked up to me. He asked me if I wanted him to sign something and i was like "um, um, " for some reason hiding my doobie like it mattered, LMAo. So I pulled out a pack of zig zags and asked " what about this?" he asked if I had anything smaller and i laughed. he signed them and while doing so I said what a cool thing for him to sign that was and he disagreed. which was odd to me. then a frenzy ensued but he signed everyones crap very nicely. Even though some were idiots with 20 things. very nice fellow. this was during his solo tour which was amazingly amazing then at Cheers I missed Jimmy when he moved down here by an hour as he came to see local cover band. DoH! he hired them to play at his house warming though. They really do seem like such nice people. would love to have a beer with them. esp jimmy because I have an insight about him his fans argue about he would get a kick out of. but I gave away the rolling papers as they didnt mean anything to me. not really anyway. niether do they as people. not really. just love thier music with hard excitement! thanks you knobs! fsmith9095
LOL- Yes it was:-) That is a cool story. I went to see JPJ with Diamanda Galas in Philly in 1994. To make a long story short, I had a very brief enounter with him in front of the venue. He was sneaking out and waiting for his ride to arrive. He walked right in front of me and I blurted out "Mr Jones, may I please have an autograph?". He politely declined as he was trying to get in to his cab and avoid the rush of fans had he been discovered sneaking out the front door. It was a very short encounter but very cool. I wish he had signed his autograph for me,of course but he wasn't rude or anything. A total gentleman who just didn't have the time at the moment. I also had seen him at the House of Blues in New Orleans in 2000 and I believe he walked right past me before I even knew it was him. D'oh! And of course,I was fortunate enough to attend the post concert party after the O2 concert. Mr Jones was there in the room ( about 30 feet away) but he was mobbed by friends and fans. I didn't want to be pushy and ask for an autograph but it was cool being in the room with him nevertheless.

Do you happen to recall if that club was nearby and did this happen after the show?

More credible than him walking up to you and asking if you wanted him to sign something . . .
