A Few Songs...

Here's a couple of my songs for you to have a listen to,

Just bare bones demos really.

WAGON CIRCLE (Wright)

You sit there baby

All riddled and pale

Suckling the teat

That she sticks through the rail

Doubting everything

You held to be true

The wagon circle

Turns it’s back on you.

She stood you up

With your back to the wind

Sweet solace smiles

But it’s only pretend

Postcards blutacked on the wall

Places you’ve never been

The Wagon Circle

Let the loneliness in.

Curtains of velvet

Cushions of foil

Crackles and drags

As it comes to the boil

Stare at the cornice

Stare at your hands

The wagon circle

She understands.

Having a few problems uploading tracks at the minute but i'm going to post the lyrics because I'm human and I need to be loved.

Eye For A Tooth (Wright)

Your reprobate lover has finally escaped

And you helped grease the bars.

It was dog eared lust that swept you along

But that’ll only get you so far.

Eye for an eye

Eye for a tooth.

If the threshold is high

The pain will dilute

You needed the push

She had to be freed.

Everything wilts

If the vein’s left to bleed.

Through no fault of your own nature took its course

And you refused to see.

It was sweet lady fate that robbed you blind

And let the insanity in.

Now your patience is hung by a gossamer thread

And your faith is in ribbons again

The embers still glow with the same gentle throb

The end credits are rolling my friend

AUTUMN SUN (Wright)

There's so many tricks the light can play on your eyes

Passing the hours with mournful sighs

Lilting and drifting in peaceful denial

Till you fade like the autumn sun

The rug was pulled and the momentum was lost

Hats were tipped and palms were crossed

Happiness measured by the hands of the clock

Now you fade like the autumn sun

You map out the night on the back of your hand

Drawing up blueprints that you don't understand

Still she keeps drawing her lines in the sand

While you fade in the autumn sun

The guilt leaks out from your tired eyes

Releasing the tears in spasmed cries

Filtering down through your stained glass mind

Drenched in the autumn sun

In your present domain, full of squalor and shame

With its old yellow ceilings and flaking portraits

Watching the four walls day after day

Shadows cast by the autumn sun

Drowned by the dregs of the overflow

She's got a hold and she won't let go

When she makes up her mind she'll surely let you know

By the setting of the autumn sun

Sober up and walking we'll go

Down through the embers of your ego

Stand by the ashes only then will she know

About the warmth of the autumn sun

Here's a few more lyrics seeing as though my damn computer won't let me upload songs.

It Ain't Worth Worrying About (Wright)

You know it ain’t worth worrying about

You may as well just share your sickness out

Tell your mama you’ve got three days till you die

Tell her that it's mercy from on high.

Ain’t nobodies fault, it’s just the turning of the season

Mother natures way of holding out

There ain’t no point in sitting round and grieving

It ain’t worth worrying about.

Now I know it ain’t worth worrying about

The congregation that’s assembled is devout

Told ma mama I’ve got three days till I die

But both she and I knew it was I lie

Ain’t nobodies fault, it’s just the turning of the season

Mother natures way of holding out

There ain’t no point in sitting round and grieving

It ain’t worth worrying about.

I Know Why (Wright)

With cocked hat and with hovelled eyes,

The Governor takes his leave.

He has his tin cup and his tourniquet,

Tucked just inside his sleeve.

And I... ...know why

And as time goes by the people will,

Ignore his plea for an audience.

Preaching Ecclesiastes to an empty room

Then explaining it's arrogance.

And I... ...know why.

But he just keeps on decrying fame,

And all that embrace it’s curse.

Pitting his wits against the great and the good,

Just to prove who’ll come off worse

And I... ...know why.

The Governer died later that same year

Impaled by his own lecturn

Not one soul at the crematorium

Watched his body burn

And I... ..know why.

Red Formica Chair (Wright)

She was sat in the railway diner

On a red formica chair

The yellowed lace of the curtains

Dappled the morning on her hair

Her smoke laced cardie

Was rolled back around her wrists

Her fuscia lips were bruised

Where the branding iron had missed

She told me she had run away

From the life she once had led

I offered her immediate salvation

But she settled for a cigarette

She was drinking expensive coffee

From a chipped green cup

Said she was waiting for her fiancee

So I just gave up.

You Can't Be A Bird Gene (Wright)

You've spent the best part of the day

Under your the lids of your eyes.

How can convince yourself

If you won't even try?

How can you be a bird Gene?

If you can't even fly?

Trust me

Gotta get from A to B.

You're booked in somewhere in Chicago

How you gonna play if you won't even go?

How can you sing your songs

If you won't even try?

How can you be a bird Gene?

If you can't even fly?

Trust me

Gotta get from A to B.

For Better Or Worse (Wright)

A light was slowly gathering

Just behind the curve

It's purpose, to illuminate

The sinners of this world

Now wretched and of little use

Just a sliver still remains

The beacon is extinguished

And the sinners go untamed

So weak and feeble, a withered beam

For better or worse child...

...A light

A shot was fired into flesh

To tranquilize the youth

Seduction of the gulible

Is easier than truth

Lies are used as currency

Traded by the few

Selling on their excrement

To radicals like you

So young and useless, a palsied fool

For better or worse child...

...A shot.

Now a change is somersaulting

In upon the wind

Coating everybody and

Everything

Wrought iron and heavy chains

Swing in the archways above

Your mother decries the senseless death

And preaches senseless love.

So cold and noxious, a vicous sway.

For better or worse child...

...A change
