BUCK'EYE' DOC
I have been patiently waiting for someone to start this thread, and so far, nothing. Since the season has officially started, I will take the initiative and get things going. Ohio State plays Navy today. It won't be just a gimme game. Navy has the highest rushing statistics in the nation every year. They just play hard hitting, smash-mouth football. Today there will be four Script Ohio's formed on the field, as the alumni band members join "The Best Dammed Band In The Land". John Glenn will dot the I today. Watch it on ESPN for a real thrill. (I hope that they show it on TV). Akron is playing Penn State. Starting today for Akron is a kid that played on my sons' high school football team. That team went to the state semi-finals and lost to the state winners. That game will be on Big Ten Network. I will be switching back and forth between that game and Ohio State to see how the kid is doing. I expect great things from him, as he is a fantastic football player. Go Buckeyes Go Akron Zips Congrats to Manderlyh's Boisie State team! Edited September 5, 2009 by BUCK'EYE' DOC

Hi Jabe, I have a couple of Optometrist friends who live in Alabama and are huge 'Bama fans. One will be at the game today. So I say "Go Tide" for you and them. And I am also rooting for Virginia Tech for Virginia. "Go Hokies". My Buckeyes squeaked by Navy. What an exciting game! Some good playing by both teams. But a W is a win, no matter what the score. And Akron got beaten badly. But the player whom I know on the Akron team played well for his first college game. BUCK'EYE' DOC
↑ Hi Buck'eye'Doc Good ol' John Glenn, yay! an Ohio State alumnus, I presume? Hi Fan_S, John Glenn went to Muskingum College in Ohio. He is from Cambridge and New Concord Ohio. He was a US Senator for the State of Ohio. He has an office at Ohio State. It is designed to look like the interior of a space capsule. Very cool. My youngest son is in a program at Ohio State called "The John Glenn School of Public Affairs". It is for students that are interested in public service. That's why it was a big deal to us that he got to dot the I of the Script Ohio today. http://glennschool.osu.edu/news/dot_the_i/dot_i.html Edited September 5, 2009 by BUCK'EYE' DOC

BUCK'EYE' DOC
Hey "DOC" Congrats to Ohio, what a finish that was, ya just hate to have a tie Hi Charles, I couldn't watch the ending of that game. I took my dog outside for a walk and when I came back in, the Buckeyes had won. My family was probably glad that I went outside, as they don't appreciate me yelling at the tv during football games. I am watching the LSU game now. They are winning 10-7, but the Washington Huskies are driving down the field. Both teams look good.

I had a nice chat during dinner with a good friend o' mine who grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Anyway, he said that usually a bandmember gets to do the honored tradition of dotting the "I". It's all wonderfully choreographed and then→the exciting moment→the lead tuba player dots the "I". I think he meant at regular games as opposed to the "season opener"? BTW: Thanks for the link, too! Footsteps of Dawn
Go Bruins, Go Cornhuskers, and Go Tide! Since my college doesn't HAVE a $*%&ing football team (losers), I got my favorites a little differently. UCLA because they're the other big So. Cal. UC school, so they're as close to a home team as I can get, U. of Nebraska because that's where most of my family lives and they are CA-RAZY Huskers fans, and Bama just for the hell of it. Towson downed by N'Western Terps were drowned by Cal. Navy was outgunned by the buckeyes in a game poised to go into OT.
BUCK'EYE' DOC
Ohio State plays USC tonight in Columbus at 8pm. ESPN College Game Day is at the OSU campus today. My youngest son went to the stadium at 6am just to join in the festivities. Lee Corso put on the Trojan helmet, predicting a USC win. Kirk Herbstreit is a former Ohio State quarterback and he had his sons on the stage with him, wearing Ohio State jerseys. The littlest one, about 3 years old, said "Go Bucks". Very cute little boys! Kirk Herbstreit in his Ohio State playing days, 1992. It should be a great game. I hope that Ohio State can pull off an upset. Terrell Pryor should be in top form today, that is the key to the game for the Buckeyes. The campus is wild today, even though most students are not back in Columbus yet as classes do not begin until September 23. Even though my boys have season tickets, they were closed out in getting tickets for the USC game, which was not included in their season ticket package. These tickets sold out within a minute of going on sale to the students. Alot of the kids skipped classes so they could get on-line to order their tickets for this game, and they were gone in the blink of an eye. I think that the university gave first priority to their fat-cat donors for this particular game, where as they usually give the students first priority to get tickets. But since school is not in session yet, they figured that the students wouldn't be around to use the tickets and would just sell them anyway. A doctor friend of my husband bought tickets in the nose-bleed section from my oldest son's room mate for $350 each for this game. It will be bedlam afterward if Ohio State wins. Lots of partying going on. All I can say is: GO BUCKS! Edited September 12, 2009 by BUCK'EYE' DOC

BUCK'EYE' DOC
Boo Hoo. My Buckeyes lost in a great game. Nothing to be ashamed of. Final score: USC 18 - OSU 15. USC scored a TD in the last minute of the game to win. It was a battle in the trenches the entire game. Terrell Pryor did not play up to his potential. The Ohio State coaching was too conservative, as usual. Those were the keys to the loss. They showed the entire Script Ohio performed by the band on ESPN. That was a treat! And I guess the loss prevented a riot on campus, LOL. Congrats to Jabe for Alabama and Virginia for Virginia Tech wins. (Edited to fix error in the smiley face. I just noticed that the wrong one was on my post. Sorry.) Edited September 13, 2009 by BUCK'EYE' DOC

He was angry when it wasn't and went to a local bar here to watch it as his family doesn't have cable (ESPN). He told me that he was really hoping (almost expecting) an upset because Ohio did really well at the beginning of the game. But, all in all, he said it was a great game. Like jabe said, i bet Columbus and all of Ohio was rockin'! And so, I say, "good game" to Ohio and "congrats" to California.

BUCK'EYE' DOC
Ohio State 38 - Toledo 0 No surprise there. Except Ohio State had over 500 yards of offense and held Toledo, a team who was number one in the US in total offense up to this point, to miniscule yardage. Our defense is great! We still need to work alot on our offense.
