Wolfman
Good show in Reading, PA this past Thursday night as I saw Heart open up for Journey. Great seats as I was only six rows from the stage almost dead center. I was more excited for Heart and they didn't disappoint. Nancy Wilson is so influenced by Jimmy Page. From the way she plays her Les Paul to the way she dances around and waves her arms, she is having a blast pretending to be a blond Page. She's a pretty damn good player too. Hate to sound cruel but it's still a shock to see how big Anne has gotten. Even so, she still can belt out the high notes. The rest of the band was very good as the other guitarist, Craig Bartock, jammed out also. Nice setlist with a few covers you might recognize: Barracuda Never Kick It Out Straight On Love Alive Back to Avalon These Dreams What About Love Alone Love Reign O'er Me Crazy On You Going to California Magic Man Next came Journey. Good setlist but I felt they played a little too long. It could be that, or maybe I just wasn't into them as much as Heart. Neal Schon is still a man possessed on the guitar though. Some very nasty and speedy solos. I liked that they jammed out on songs that you wouldn't expect them too. Entire band plays with lots of energy and lead vocalist, Arnel Pineda, is an excellent replacement for Steve Perry. Hats off to drummer Deen Castronovo, who not only was amazing on the kit, but had some nice vocals on a few songs too. Here's a setlist from another show. Same songs but different order than what I saw: Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) Never Walk Away Guitar Solo Stone In Love Rubicon Only The Young Ask The Lonely Change For The Better Lights Edge Of The Blade Wheel In The Sky Chain Reaction One More Wildest Dream Faithfully Don't Stop Believin' Be Good To Yourself Anyway You Want It
