That was a good post Rabia. When ever I look at a girl I find attractive the one question I ask is does she look naturally attractive to my tastes or does she look attractive because of four layers of makeup on her face? I figure that if I am going to have a relationship with them I at least want to be able to kiss her real face. I always use my mother as a guide. She has never worn any makeup in her life, well she has but only once or twice. She comes across as really genuine, whereas other women her age that do wear makeup seem a bit insecure. There's nothing wrong with it, so long as your not plastered in it.

:thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku:

If only there was an applause smiley

:thanku: to your mother too, wow she seems like a great, confident woman.

Another issue that bothers me is clothing.

There are so many beauty pressures for us teens.

However, I really want to make my own clothes. College has so many random classes. It's bound to have sewing classes as well. If I learn to make my own clothes, I'll be more active, I'll make them to best suit my tastes, and I'll save so much money.

Then, I hope to make so many great clothes for 1/5 or 1/6 of the price of buying them at the mall. Then, I won't need to worry about obtaining clothes. And the money I end up saving, I'll use to make blankets for the Children's Hospital.

I hope the plan works, Rich.

Plans can always work if they are well planned.  Seems logical.

You must try not let society squeeze you into its mould. They try and do this with adverts and glam magazines. They say you HAVE to buy certain clothing to be in with a chance of being noticed. Kids these days are horrible with this kind of thing. It results in bullying and jeering. If you cannot afford the latest fashions etc then you don't belong. In our schools here we wear uniforms which makes us all equals. They even banned wearing casual shoes because some kids were picked on because they weren't using designer labels. I was never pressed into that mould. I would rather buy all my clothes from a thrift store or a second hand store than go out an spend insane amounts of money I don't have on pointless names. Like a plain t-shirt could cost about £5 to £10...slap a NIKE logo on it and the price is immediately bumped up to £25+. You see what I mean? And commercials, billboards and magazines tell you that you have to spend that money to be recognised and cool. I had loads of friends at school, everyone liked me, but I didn't come dolled up in society's commercialism. That would be called conformity...I am pro-individuality. It's your own individual tastes...screw anyone that says you dress stupid.

I know, Rich, I am not like that. You know.

I am so glad that you are so genuine too.

Well, I do want to establish my own tastes, hence the production of my own clothes.

I never want to fall into the commercialized pit again. I used to be like that when I was younger.

Yet again, it's something called discovering a spirit.

So, I am also pro-individuality, like you :D

It reminds me of the movie, Dead Poet's Society, did you see it?

The movie also has the literature you love, Rich.

Yep, you've got it right.

That's exactly the one

Great movie about individuality and spirit, and the pressures we face, that eventually destroy us if we don't have confidence.

Wonderful literature like Thoreau, Whitman[New Yorker :D ] and Shakespeare.

And, it's funny and dramatic at the same time.

Oh yeah, I know you like Jim Carrey so

I love the Cable Guy, great film. The amount of quotes I have used from that film is insane. I even did a karioke where I performed this song just like he did. I put on the lisp as well. Have you seen the film...it is brilliant. I have taken so much from Carrey, I owe him big time! I wish I had a £1 for every time someone said 'you are just like Jim Carrey!'

I really want to meet you too! Have you seen the Cable Guy? There is a scene in it where he presses his nipple against this window...I did that exact impression back at school when some kid was trying to make fun of me at the other side of it. When I did he he didn't know what to do!!

Here we are, not a picture but a clip of the movie...it was just like this, check it out 25 seconds in:

The Best of Jim Carrey

He is a great guy and he has inspired me so much. Yeah, I was playing drums in the music room at school and some kid just came up to the window with his mates and started shouting at me so I threw my stick at the window which made them shout more. So I got up, walked to the window, stood there holding my hand to my ear and he carried on mocking me so I unbuttoned a few of my buttons and did what Jim Carrey did. I wish I had it on film.

Yeah I use that quote all the time. When someone would piss me off I would just say that and no-one can really make a reply to that can they. My friend used to call me the walking movie because everytime someone said something I would spontaneously use a line from a movie, without even knowing it. Crazy!

There's a girl in my Finnish class, she laughs at everything I say, whether it was funny or not.
