Strider
Another Christmas perennial for me. "Fantasia" just turned 80 years old...its premiere being November 13, 1940. You cannot beat hand-drawn animation. And you've gotta love this 1969 re-release poster Disney designed to appeal to the hippies and counterculture crowd of the 1960s. Much like stoners were dropping acid while watching "2001: A Space Odyssey", I guess they were also getting high to "Fantasia". I wouldn't know anything about that...I was just 7 years old when my parents took us kids to see "Fantasia" for the first time at the Newport Beach Edwards Cinema. I didn't need drugs to become engrossed and enraptured by the film. I thought it was one of the most amazing sight and sound spectacles then and I still think so today. Strider
Clint's transition period from the Sergio Leone 'Spaghetti Westerns' to established Hollywood star via "Dirty Harry". Directed by his buddy Don Siegel. Inspiration for the "McCloud" TV series. Edited December 13, 2020 by Strider

Saw it in the theater in Vegas in '71. Best animation ever. Bach's toccata and Ave Maria are beautiful. Watched this with a friend tonight. Love that style of animation. rotoscoping The film is notable for its extensive use of rotoscoping, a technique in which scenes are first shot in live-action, then traced onto animation cels. It uses a hybrid of traditional cel animation and rotoscoped live action footage. Edited December 13, 2020 by redrum
Cecil.
On 11/9/2020 at 3:59 AM, Strider said: Liked the first two. But not the others. Yeah, they seem to have went down the same route as the Alien films. In the first two films a Terminator was a threat, after that it became less about characters and more about flashy scenes. Strider
Perfect for a Saturday night. Shame on me for forgetting that Bobby Keys shared the same birthday with Keith Richards. Born on December 18, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas and died on December 2, 2014 in Franklin, Tennessee. In between was a hellraising wild ride from Buddy Holly to Leon Russell to the Rolling Stones and all points in between.
