Blame the media, not the band. Nirvana never claimed that they reinvented the wheel. Forget the media hype, they were just a good band.

I don't think they were even that. But, as I said, that is just my opinion.

I was there and thought they were rubbish at the time. ITV aired it a couple of weeks later and it sounded like a different gig. Technology is marvelous

I was there too and it sounded excellent where I was standing.

I'm curious how this compares to that first live CD they released shortly after Kurt killed himself. Live from the Muddy Banks of the something-another. Anyone listened to both of them?

As I said, I think they were an awful band live, but that album is actually pretty good. Of course it's not just one show, if I remember correctly, the songs were compiled from different shows.
