AlexKx Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Can anyone tell me who the founding member of Them Crooked Vultures are? It seems like Dave Grohl is but I am not sure. Thanks for letting me know and have a good day! Quote
kaiser Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Dave Grohl. It was his concept going back 5 years ago. Quote
Reggie29 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 They wouldn't be half the band they are without Jonesy. Quote
AlexKx Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) God, that sucks. I wish it was Jonesy driving this ship. It is embarasing that he is not...as much as I don't like Grohl or Holmes I at least can admit that I like the Foo Fighters BETTER than Nirvana. Not that I like Foo very much to begin with. I just like the attention Foo give to Queen and Zeppelin my two favorite recording acts other than Michael Jackson. At least Jonesy is doing something and having some success with it. I hope all of this solo stuff gets Zep together again...folks there isn't much time left as Page is already 66... Edited January 10, 2010 by AlexKx Quote
Administrators sam_webmaster Posted January 10, 2010 Administrators Posted January 10, 2010 It's all three of them, equally. Quote
SteveAJones Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Agreed, Sam. Dave introduced John to Josh, but each is equally responsible for the direction the band has taken since that initial meeting, and that is quite unlike when Jimmy founded Led Zeppelin with a very specific artistic vision in mind. The Pagemeister Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 There is no real founder or leader, but Dave got the ball rolling. Quote
ledded1 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 They wouldn't be half the band they are without Jonesy. They would two thirds of the band without him Quote
kaiser Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Grohl was the catalyst for the band coming into existance but I'm sure he's not pushing Homme & Jones around, as if he could or would even want to If anything I'm sure he'd like a democracy & creative balance as much as possible considering the line up. This was a dream of Grohl's that came true, he's certainly not going to mess with it. Quote
TypeO Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I think JPJ's influence is unmistakable, and could well be the creative force. I could see Dave and Josh subtly acquiescing to a legendary figure while still fully engaging their own creativity and ideas as well. I see Jonesey as the consummate chef, knowing just the right combination of ingredients to use, and when, to produce an auditory feast. Sorry, I'm feeling a little giddy as Feb. 11 approaches, and I get to see them in the ATL! Quote
Aquamarine Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Never mind, at least it means I get to agree with you about something! Quote

And "Holmes" as you call him is awesome, just listen to the guitar playing in Kyuss or the music of QOSTA. Quote
