When I used to think about Jamaica, I thought about ganja, Reggae, and laid-back people. I have recently been involved with a Jamaican woman. That brought me much closer to people form Jamaica. Her family, though not "traditional" are wonderful people, as are her Jamaican friends.

I just came across this video which is disheartening.

I figured I would start a thread to see what others have to say about Jamaica.

I've never been, but I've heard that, like many other vacation destinations, it's not advisable to "wander off the beaten path" for tourists, that you could easily find your life endangered.
