boblybob Posted January 28, 2010 Share Posted January 28, 2010 The Beatles have many lengthy detailed books marking every date, times present in studio, equipment/instruments used, what instruments on what tracks, and just general day to day things for all of their studio time. Seeing Jimmy reminisce about the about the sessions at Headley Grange was very poignant and only reinforced my thinking that a documentary or book on this topic would be a great addition to the Zeppelin legacy. badgeholder Posted January 28, 2010 Share Posted January 28, 2010 I don't agree about the 'Moby Dick' drum solo being recorded in NY, seperately from the rest of the track. It was all recorded at the same session, it's pretty clear on the outtakes tape. anyway. Friends and Four Sticks were originally recorded in the studio for their respective albums. But in 1972,Jimmy and Robert went to Bombay to re-record those tracks with the Bombay Symphony Orchestra. Then that must have been the EMI Recordings, not the tracks on LZ111, if we are not talking at cross purposes? EMI sound was a studio that was used to record film soundtracks.
