Zeppelin Recording Sessions

The Beatles have many lengthy detailed books marking every date, times present in studio, equipment/instruments used, what instruments on what tracks, and just general day to day things for all of their studio time.

Zeppelin dosen't seem to have any books on it.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Really good question bob. One would think that there would ( and should) be at least one book detailing the recording session of Led Zeppelin.

In my opinion,a comprehensive book detailing the band's recordings is long overdue-the studios, the songs recorded, the cicrumstances surrounding the sessions, photos of the sessions, locations of the studios, photos of the studios etc...much in the same vein as has been documented on the Beatles.

Seeing Jimmy reminisce about the about the sessions at Headley Grange was very poignant and only reinforced my thinking that a documentary or book on this topic would be a great addition to the Zeppelin legacy.

I don't agree about the 'Moby Dick' drum solo being recorded in NY, seperately from the rest of the track. It was all recorded at the same session, it's pretty clear on the outtakes tape. anyway. Yes a nice detailed book with photos would be great

I read that friends & Four Sticks were recorded at EMI sound Bombay (soundtrack studios)...?

Partially correct. Friends and Four Sticks were originally recorded in the studio for their respective albums. But in 1972,Jimmy and Robert went to Bombay to re-record those tracks with the Bombay Symphony Orchestra. These tracks are on a bootleg in common circulation-or at least they used to be.

Then that must have been the EMI Recordings, not the tracks on LZ111, if we are not talking at cross purposes?

EMI sound was a studio that was used to record film soundtracks.
