Who is with Jimmy?

October 16, 1969

Jimmy was picked up from the Hilton Hotel in New York by Ron Kellerman (left) and Lord Sutch (right) and driven one hour to Kellerman's residence in Perth Amboy, NJ where this photo was taken. The three spent the night playing albums and discussing music and culture. Jimmy had known both for a few years by that time; Ron - an avid music fan - had corresponded with and met Jimmy in the past. Jimmy had also known David (aka Lord Sutch), a musician, for some time and was recorded with him a couple years later. Sadly, Ron and David are now deceased.

Jimmy's pants are hiked up way too high, similar to that of an 80 year old man.

A friend of mine from Loosiana used to call that "flooding." "Check out his pants. He's floodin'." lol

I believe the snooker photo was taken August 24, 1982 while Elli, Julie Welch, and Deana Brooks of 'Feathers In The Wind' (a Led Zeppelin fanzine) were visiting.

Hi Steve,

I'm new here on the forums as far as posting goes. Just now had time to peruse. What a wealth of information; it's really good to see so much regard for the guys still, after all these years.

I was with Elli and the others on that holiday in the UK in 1982. We did not photograph Page playing snooker. On that day, 24th August 1982, we were visiting with Robert and Jimmy (and very briefly JPJ) at Swan Song records immediately following the last meeting they had regarding Coda. Robert was kind enough to invite us in. Jimmy and he took a couple hours to spend. A memorable day indeed.

I hope to get to know folks here and share info while learning more. How fun. Thanks!

Yes. Definitely photographed whilst standing in Mill Lane right in front of the gated entrance to Old Mill House. I believe they were taken August 31, 1981 when five Americans returned for a third time that week attempting to meet. Jimmy invited them in for further conversation past midnight.

Actually those photos were not taken by the Americans that Jimmy & Charlotte invited in on August 31. They had indeed tried to see him prior that week, but on the 31st they arrived in the evening and the only photos taken were inside Mill House, not out by the gate.

Very nice to "meet" you. We eventually got the photos properly indentified, credited and dated, which is the purpose of this thread. Unsure whom among the group you are, but if you are Julie you may be flattered to know in my archive I have a couple KILO News Magazine (KILO FM 94 Denver) interviews from 1983 featuring Julie which aired to promote John Bonham's 35th Birthday and then Robert Plant's first solo tour. I also have a demo of a rock ballad featuring Julie & Tony, though I can't recall the song title at the moment.

Thank you, Steve. I am Amy, was the youngest kid in the bunch that went over in 1982. Julie will be gratified to hear it! Cheers..

I have a couple of questions about the pics in today's JimmyPage.com "On This Day" feature... The one about Stephen Stills and The Sol...

I wonder if The Sol logo was drawn by Mr. Page? The ink smears lead me to believe that it is a doodle... Just speculating. :)

The photo of the studio shows The Sol to be beautiful... What is known about The Sol (other than what is on Wickipedia) and what exactly are we looking at in the photo? The reflection has distorted things, but I thought some might know or be more observant than I. :)

Also it is my understanding that Jimmy bought The Sol in the 80s, yet I see online photos from the early 70s of Jimmy, and being credited as taken at The Sol!

Thanks for any responses... I really enjoy my time here.

Peace!

Those '70s era photos are incorrectly attributed to The Sol - they were taken at Plumpton Place.

The logo was probably drawn by Jimmy. I don't recall seeing it used or displayed anywhere before and certainly not when I was at The Sol. The photo shows the main studio from the control room. Jimmy purchased The Sol circa 1980 to coincide with his move to the Old Mill House in Clewer Village which is not far away. It was originally built circa 1977 by Gus Dudgeon. It is available to let at present:

Sol Mill is an enchanting six bedroom period property, beautifully set in a wonderful waterside setting with frontage to Lulle Brook. Comprising. Entrance hall, newly installed cloakroom/shower room, magnificent drawing room with vaulted ceiling, family room/studio, sun room, sitting room, fitted kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, master bedroom with luxury en-suite bathroom & dressing room, guest suite bedroom and bathroom, four further bedrooms, bathroom. Beautifully Landscaped gardens with two foot bridges over Lulle Brook & Moorings.

Thank you so much, Steve!

I have been a Zep fan forever, but I am very new here.

I really appreciate your research and clear answers here on the board.

Peace!

The top left picture is from 69', the bottom picture is deffinetly from 71'

That doesn't really answer his question.

First picture: July 6, 1969 at Newport, RI

I love how Mick Hinton looks bored sitting there next to Bonzo.

Page and Sutch on top of the Hilton I think

Photographed at Hard Rock Cafe - any other details? No similar pictures that I came across via search...tks

JimmyPageatHardRockCafe.jpg

I've never seen this photograph before and cannot match it to any public appearances. How certain are you it is a Hard Rock Cafe? The framed items on the wall from left to right seem to be white kittens, Wimpy from the Popeye cartoons and a Presidential letter from Thomas Jefferson, none of which seem to be among obvious Hard Rock Cafe decor.

...Not certain at all; I only found it on the internet and it states Jimmy at Hard Rock Cafe; No other information was stated; I had doubts for the same reasons stated herein...

thanks...
