And this is why I like this forum. I never would have known about this interview otherwise. It was a great way to start the morning.

Robert was great! He sounded excited about the upcoming tour and said he may revisit some Zeppelin music. I agree about the idiot interviewer - his interruptions were very annoying. Let the man talk for goodness sakes!

I'm so excited about July 24th!! :D

side note to doubters from other thread, told you jimmy lived here, lol. man people get mean over stupidest things. like it was ever a big deal.

Was nice to hear robert confirm he lived right where I said, after getting such blather cause I mentioned he lived here I almost left the site. sorry rants done :P

Otherwise he said exactly what I had figured about what style of music he will play, of course he would do zep and his other solo stuff. that doubt went out the window in 88. since then he has always to my knowledge done zep tunes at his shows.

And it also made nothing but sense that this tour would rock more. who really thought he would be a folk star ?

Just got done listening to it. It was great to hear Robert and Jason. The DJ's were rude and kept interupting them...jerks!

Keeping my fingers crossed that Robert will add more dates to his tour that will include either St. Louis, Indy or Chicago. It will be interesting to see how Jason's project turns out and where all he will tour also. Hopefully he will will hit the midwest with it.

Ok, Robert is touring, JPJ is touring with TCV....now when is Dear Jimmy gonna get out there and release something and tour!?!?! Come on Jimmy....we have been waiting for ya for a while now! Don't keep us waiting any longer!

I know, I more excited than ever!!!! Especially when he said he may revisit some Zep music and some of his solo music. He said the music would be harder and heavier than what he did with Allison Krauss. Yessssssssssss.

Gigi, we're going to be at the same show!

(my bad - RP said tougher and stronger - not harder and heavier. either way, it's all good.)

Not sure what your point is about Jimmy having LIVED in Miami. Knebby said he LIVES in London and in the interview it was stated that Jimmy LIVED there for just a short amount of time. You were speaking in terms of current time and she said that was not true, which is correct. So, get over it already.

Back to the point of the thread..... the interview was nice to hear - thanks to Deborah and Sam for the heads up on it/posting the link for those of us at work! So looking forward to seeing Robert in July!!!

I thought he lived in Ft. Lauderdale briefly as well?

That is correct. He and Jimena rented Suite 262 at Las Olas Isles, 2400 East Las Olas Blvd at the end of 2000 and into Spring 2001. During this time they visited Master Jeffrey Holmes' Sailboat Bend apartment/gallery, L' Art Noir (12/15/00) and returned to purchase a print of a piece not for sale, a black and white drawing of a witch. Most of the following month was spent on holiday in Brazil. When they attended Joe Walsh's Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino concert in Hallendale (2/3/01) Jimmy was seen side stage and he signed autographs by the soundboard before being led to Joe's trailer just prior to the encores. When they hosted the first annual charity dinner and auction for Action for Brazil's Children at The Tower Club (4/4/01) approximately 150 people attended and Jimmy strummed a chord on guitar. In May 2001, Jimmy attended the final set of a Hashbrown gig at The Poor House and conferred with guitarist Duncan Cameron. Worth noting Jimmy continued to undergo therapy for his back injury throughout this time.

It's kinda of funny picturing Jimmy working out in sweat shorts, head band, etc. Maybe he has dragon suit shorts.biggrin.gif

I go to Ft. Lauderdale every April, and have visited the Pour House on several occasions. I would drop dead if I saw Jimmy in there!

I loved Robert's interview. He is so articulate! If only the DJ would have let him talk without interuptions!

So he did have a back injury. I remember all the fodder that followed the demise with the Black Crowes, mostly it being that the Robinson brothers were sick of playing Zeppelin tunes and being a coverband for Jimmy, so he left.

Great interview. Too bad Robert picked that morning show. They're terrible.

What an A-hole!!!!!! Robert Plant was nothing but classy. No wonder these buffoons don't get rock greats to do interviews (they said as much before Mr. Plant came on). What an arrogant SOB!
