I had to look those guys up.. LOL. My aim was not against your post. I am a fan of John Coltrane although I haven't got that many records by him.

Numerous Robert Johnson songs that were covered by rock artists such as:

Crossroads - Cream

Love In Vain - Rolling Stones

Stop Breaking Down - Rolling Stones

When I hear the originals they sound like the same song with different words, but I'm glad these other artists saw something in them and made them their own.
