ayale99
I was fortunate enough to catch the tour opener in Tinley Park, Ill, June 24, 2000. I'm a huge Black Crowes and Zeppelin fan, so for me, it couldn't get any better than this (except if Plant & Jones magically showed up.) Great show and awesome setlist! Plus, Kenny Wayne Shephard opened. It rained like hell, but it didn't matter. The weirdest thing to hear was Page adding his solo to the Crowes tune, She Talks to Angels. It's a combo you would never imagine in your wildest dreams...until your actually there hearing it. I guess She Talks to Angels could be considered the Crowes equivalent of Stairway to Heaven. Oh ya, actually got to see Page rock the theremin too! It was as close to a Zeppelin show I've ever gotten to. Anyways, I know all the Black Crowes fans loved this short-lived tour. So I was wondering what the true Zeppelin fans thought of it all? Set List: Wanton Song Celebration Day Misty Mountain Hop Custard Pie No Speak No Slave Sick Again What Is And What Should Never Be Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye Woke Up This Morning Ten Years Gone In My Time Of Dying Your Time Is Gonna Come Remedy Lemon Song In The Light Shapes Of Things Nobody's Fault But Mine Heartbreaker - encore - Bring It On Home She Talks To Angels Out On The Tiles Whole Lotta Love
Mattmc1973
I thought it was awesome. I'm a fan of both bands, so it was very cool to see. I saw them at the Palace of Auburn Hills here in suburban Detroit. Jimmy played very well, better than he played on the Page/Plant tours, and I thought Chris Robinson did a great job. He didn't try to be Robert, he has a different voice, he put his own spin on things. I would have liked to see them make an album of original material, but they went their separate ways... Led Head
I had 3rd row tickets for Tampa but this leg of the tour was canceled and boy was I pissed. The Black Crowes are an amazing live band and I encourage anyone interested to go to a show. They vary their setlists nightly and for most of 2005 and 2006 were playing 2 set 3 hour shows. New Years Eve 2005 they covered Ten Years Gone and Wanton Song very nicely.
kdh
Saw the July 4th show in Raleigh, then the Bristow, Va show later. Page was in rare form on both shows.
Honeydripper
Saw the July 4th show in Raleigh, then the Bristow, Va show later. Page was in rare form on both shows. Agreed, I was at the Nissan Pavillion show...right up front and center. It was a friggin blast. Seems when Page has the freedom to pick and choose his parts....and not have to carry all the weight he can really let loose. He was on fire!! Plus hearing the songs done in their studio format(w/ all the multiple guitar parts) live on stage was something really special. And so was the setlist full of rarities. Paul
I was at this show. Walked thru ankle deep water and rain all thru the parking lot. It was worth it tho`. loved the collaboration of Page and the Crowes. Had 3rd row left ! TYG was fantastic and Page sounded good at all the Crowes shows! I was at the Greek in L.A. on the 19th. This was better than Chicago. I was to see them in Cleveland, at the Zepfest convention, until Jimmy`s back gave out.
